  1. Actually I ordered Millers EPS as I trust that brand and I've worked out it'll still be cheaper to use that with E10 than to use E5.
  2. Eh up Len. Interesting post. If that were the case then why, for example, do Lexus make recommendations for additives? Personally speaking I've been using Millers additives in all my cars for the past 20 years. Also every car for the past 30 years the first thing I've done before driving it home was to add a dose of ZX1 into the engine oil. The manufacturers of these products are not fly by night but respected by probably millions worldwide. They have spent lots of time and money in evaluation and research and testing. I fully appreciate your involvement in the launch of motor oils but please do not scare monger those who choose to use an additive in their vehicle. I've actually told Rover/MG and Ford and Lexus garages I use additives and which ones and each congratulated me in my choices and guess what? Each of the engines have run oh so sweet that the aforementioned garages commented positively.
  3. Hi Peter. I've never come across this but try disconnecting the 12v battery for 30-40 minutes. Reconnect and try the voice button again. Disconnecting the battery resets many things so you'll have to operate each window fully up and fully down to get the one touch working.
  4. I've actually stated I'd get the MG4 trophy when it appears with 450bhp (I heard it will) so good choice FA. Yes it makes one wonder of personal information infringement but I've read they've wangled a way in. I think the day of 'Big Brother ' is far far off (total control of a government type organisation I mean like those in the terminator films) where things are programmed into EV's of the future that take over control of the vehicle is its found speeding fir instance. I love my 15 year old V6 and it will take some extraordinary to replace it. Dealer service every year and if it needs it it gets it.
  5. This is an unfortunate situation that occurred. The point is that not all main dealers are worth their salt. Not all independents are worth their salt. Some main dealers are outstanding. Some independents are outstanding. Some main dealers start off great but in time go worse and that happens with independents too. You've had a rough deal Martin. Me? My main dealers is outstanding as is my local halfords.
  6. That Savagegeese video is an excellent one. He's done quite a few really good videos. This video however has within it a very important review and that is longevity of these ruddy expensive leccy cars. And wow what really surprised me is how car manufacturers basically spy on the car owners habits of what functions within the car they use and how often and on a daily basis. Jeez if they're spying on function use what else are they spying on? Now in reality there are much cheaper leccy cars such as the MG brand. Sub 30k for a brand new leccy car which is really quite a ruddy good car for an EV. And yes I'm seeing more charging stations being built. Blimey Abington service station not only has about 8 tesla chargers they're installing another 8 other superdooper chargers. So that reduces the parking space count for the ice car of which there are many many more times that of EV's. Interesting thing in that video also about servicing hybrid cars that because of the ever increasing complexity they're going to be even dearer to service. Where is it all going to end!
  7. The Jag XK RS is a rather superb car. As is the S-type variant too. Shed load of car for peanut money.
  8. Well my thread has gone off kealter so I'll have a bash at what some govs are doing in charging for this n that. They can charge whatever But a majority will not pay as they won't be able to pay for them ridiculous charges. But those charges are infact for new cars as for the use of a steering wheel for instance. As for the abolishment of ice cars then that won't happen in a long long time coz again the majority of folk won't be able to afford an electric car and not even a used one. Who on earth would want to buy a used electric car when it's battery would have lost between 10 and 20% of its charge capability. I read just this week from autocar about the longevity of those batteries in leccy cars. Put me right off 110% that article on getting a leccy car. I'll be keeping my V6 for quite some years unless I come up trumps on the lottery then it'll be a V8 👍
  9. Just come across this. Those nozzles are a friction fit. There's usually a ring of plastic on the body where the nozzle fits and a recess within the nozzle to accommodate that ring. Check these fixtures first. I suggest copious turnings of cotton with a glue so it sets. This cotton just has to add a millimetre to the shaft of the dryer then the nozzle will have a snug fit and still be removable.
  10. What an excellent video that is. As forcwho pays for what. Blimey it's ruddy obvious WE ALL DO. As for electric cars especially used ones. Autocar has published an article regarding the life span of a battery. Things don't look good for used electric cars as their batteries lose capacity at a rate which I find shocking. A tesla loses 10% capacity in 3 years. That's one example. Tests done by reputable companies. That settles it. I'm sticking with petrol. 👍
  11. Hi Gordon and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. I suggest you look in the NX section of the forum. Fellow NX owners will answer questions you have. Pan roof and roof bars. Mmmmm doesn't sound good to me. Just my thought.
  12. Yes Bogdan the full flush starts with a chemical clean. I'll be getting mine done next year.
  13. The quote I got was for a FULL flush meaning every last bit of old oil replaced with fresh new oil and filters so £500 is very fair. Bogdan £300 will only replace upto 2.5 litres of oil out of near 8 litres.
  14. Find a auto gearbox specialist. A reputable one. Theres a machine by Launch the ATF 501S which pumps out the old oil with new. I priced the job about 6 months ago and was told it'd be around £500. I was going to get mine done but a knackered alternator got in the way.
  15. Why did you have the alternator changed? Were you having the same symptoms before the alternator was changed? In August all he'll broke lose with my cars electrics. Dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Lost power steering but one thing I did Not lose was driveability. No surging of revs at any point whether I was idling or driving forward or backwards. Personally I think your problem is not battery influenced. More like a fueling issue. Clean the throttle body and the MAF sensor (look on YouTube how to do it).
  16. WOWZ what an ordeal. Well done you in persevering the incompetence of the dealer. Just proves that even at dealers the technicians are not fully conversant on what they are working on. You go enjoying your car and again well done.
  17. Eh up Max. Its Your location that has the 'olive' green cars and gold ones. I feel sorry for you living there. I've been to a lot of areas in this great country of ours and that colour on Lucas's is250 is superb and RARE in all the places I've been. On the is250 it's one helluva colour and arguably the best. Mine is obsidian black. Really good but can be bettered.
  18. Right then. I'm on my 4th treble asda take on Southern Comfort. Yes it's ok to slag of German cars BUT the best car Ever built was German. Put simply the UR QUATTRO. The best car by far I've ever owned or driven. If I had the money my is250 would go and I'd have another UR Quattro. Anyone who slags this car off I'll find you and make mincemeat of you. Simplz as orlav says (the animated animal on the insurance comparison site). I've just watched the Grand Tour scandi flick. Effffing funny. I've not laughed so much in ages. The best one yet.
  19. That audi slogan vorsprung dork technique reminded me of a joke I heard decades ago. The punch line was That's the four sprung pork technique. Just thought I'd add that.
  20. Hello Mr G and welcome to Lexus ownership and the best Lexus forum there is. So you've had your eye on the is300h eh? Excellent choice of car. I've had 2 and they're excellent cars. Which spec of car is yours? Photos are always expected ooops welcomed lol. There is a dedicated section in this forum for gen 3 IS which your car falls in. Great set of folk. All questions answered by knowledgeable owners.
  21. Blimey that is250 looks great in that colour. Well done you. 👍
  22. Seconded. If your car had no lights on the dash before you took it to the mechanic then he/she did something to trigger it. However have you tried disconnecting the battery for 30-45 minutes? This resets lots of things.
  23. Eh up Lucas. That 300ZX looks sweeeeeet. Great in white. I didn't know they rust like hell and that surprises me. I'm sure you'll get it sorted over winter. Look forward to updates on it. So is250 number 3 eh? Is it manual box again as I know that was part of your requirements but not confirmed.
  24. Hi Alex. The sensors are basically a push fit. Are there fitting instructions with the sensors you bought? Maybe have a look on YouTube for retro fitting parking sensors. That'll give you tons of info.
