Yes John hot toddies work wonders but whilst on pain killers I'm keeping off them for safety sake. Thanks again 👍

Well after reading a few threads I thought I'd give Lexus Insurance a try. Went on the site and could I get a quote for January? NO. So guess what. I bought RAC at 20 quid cheaper than last year and cheaper than I've had for years. Thanks MSM.

It's great reading posts EV's are great EV's are merd etc etc. Is not the perfect balance a rear wheel drive V6 or V8 for Driving and an EV for commuting? If I had the space and money that's what I'd have. This BIK thing. It's not for normal folk but for business folk and they need all the help they can get to keep business rolling.

IS250 - Is this Worth It
Mr Vlad replied to Ozzay's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Have you not tried Brakes International? Well worth a try. -
Errrr Oz. I've never lived in London. Born n bred in Manchester now living in sunny Rochdale. Don't know where you got me in London from so please elaborate. It's ok. My bad and or typo error. Mistake about my cars service history. Yes it's 1st 11 years were serviced at Edgeware Rd but in my ownership at Stockport. Oh and once at a Toyota garage before I got it.

That's Only past and present MOT info. Not if it's been in an accident or written off or still on finance.

Eric the recovery time all depends on the individual. I'm 60 so I'm looking at 3-4 weeks. When I was in my late 20's I was knocked off my motorbike and smashed my hip. 6 weeks in traction and another 6 weeks recovery and back in work and on my fixed bike which I fixed whilst recovering. The older you get the longer it takes for bones to repair.

Lexus is 250c exhaust clip corroded need to change asap
Mr Vlad replied to Johnlex's topic in Engine & Transmission
John I didn't mention jubilee clips. Those clamps are generic and come in various sizes. They fit all cars. That's why I said if you know it's dimensions then I'm damn sure you'll find a replacement. -
Eric. A cracked rib is just about the biggest inconvenience and painful experience. Examples. Bending over to say put socks on. Hurts like hell. Breathing is affected. Getting up from a sofa hurts like hell. I have to tence up just to get up and to bend. Walking is affected. I'm walking at a quarter pace. I wouldn't wish this to anyone.

You say you disconnected your battery. How long for? 30-45 minutes is the norm. Are there more lights on? Is your battery in good health? Is your alternator working properly? I had a similar issue and it was the alternator.

Lexus is 250c exhaust clip corroded need to change asap
Mr Vlad replied to Johnlex's topic in Engine & Transmission
It's just come to me. Exhaust clamps are basically generic. If you know the width and diameter then I'm damn sure if you go to a big Exhaust place they'll have a clamp to fit. Even try Toyota. -
Well I've got time on my hands now. Off sick with a cracked rib after slipping on ice and crashing to the ground on my back on Friday morning. Yes it ruddy well hurts. Well there's 20 SE-L is250's out of 110 is250's for sale this week. I had a look a few weeks ago and it was similar. As for EV's in this climate now (it was -10 at Abingdon service station earlier (picture sent by a colleague)) I think their range will plummet at a higher percentage rate than both diesel and petrol cars. A brother sold his Jag i-pace for that reason and a couple more reasons even though he really loved that car.

Eh up David. What wise cracks? Mmmmm Len no I haven't thought of that. I'll look into that tomorrow if I remember that is lol

Is this the best Lexus LC500h review?
Mr Vlad replied to Mr Vlad's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Yes she does have nice airbags 😉 -
Yeah thanks Len. The paracetamol was suggested to counteract the effects of the Naproxen on the stomach. Funny how the doctor didn't mention she'd also give me Omeprazol which is a kind of indigestion pill. So 2 drugs to counteract the effect of the pain killer. And from what Vasileios said I think I'll stick with just using ibuprofen and sack what I was given. If that doesn't work then I'll try co-codamol.

Try ebay. I've bought things for my is250 from ebay and the best parts come from Eastern Europe. -

Could it be that the system was frozen? Can you hear a pump pumping? -
For a grand it looks a good buy. Try a car search history thing like Car Vertical I think it's called. Mega search on its history like damages stolen finance etc etc. Worth the 20 sommat quid.

Is this the best Lexus LC500h review?
Mr Vlad replied to Mr Vlad's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Good but that guy can't say aluminum probably and he just isn't anywhere as good looking as Sarah. Here's her review -
As the title goes. Put this in general as everyone needs to see it. Arguably the best car reviewer out there. Enjoy.

Great advice and info Kieran. I was a bit dubious about the Naproxen and then being recommended to take paracetamol to counteract the effects that Naproxen have with the stomach lining. Actually had a chat about Ibuprofen and that I don't take paracetamol as its not as good as Ibuprofen but the doctor said not to use Ibuprofen with the Naproxen. Strange. I'll give Naproxen a few days just to see then I'll stick with Ibuprofen which I know works for me.

On Friday morning at a service station on the way to Edinburgh I unfortunately slipped on ice and landed with a loud thud on my back. Oh how it winded me and made me wince. Few minutes later I got up and just about got back in my truck. Drove to Edinburgh where i swapped driving with my 2nd mate. But by crickey it took me over 5 minutes to get out of the cab. Walking was difficult and breathing was as was talking. What The Duck I thought. Well trying to make deliveries was a nightmare. Basically I was useless. My 2nd mate was a diamond. On the way back we stopped at that same service station to see the manager to report my slipping on ice. He seemed a decent guy and a number of forms got filled in. The area where I slipped should have been gritted. A lay by where one took up with water and blows tyres up. I intend to claim against them for liss of earnings etc. Went to hospital this morning and 4 hours later after a X-ray I'm diagnosed with a cracked rib. No wonder I was useless yesterday and couldn't sleep when I went to bed. So I've got me a box of Naproxen tablets and a box of Omeprazole and I'm to take paracetamol too. So for anyone who's not had a cracked rib I'll tell you how it affects me. I can't bend down without wincing. Can't sit down or get up from a seat without wincing. Putting socks on and pants on and jeans on is ruddy painful. Walking is affected because of the shock of footsteps running up ones body. Talking is affected because breathing is affected. Since I landed on my left side when in a vehicle going round a righthand bend or turn it hurts. Getting in and out of my car hurts unless I tence up and the pain is reduced. I tence up basically every time I move so the pain is reduced. It's not nice having a cracked rib. I was in less pain decades ago when when I got knocked off a motorbike and smashed the cartilage between my leg and hip and cracked like an egg my hip. Take care out there when it's ice and snow.

Blimey Slick 50. I remember that stuff. It's probably similar to ZX1. What made me go for ZX1 was a test rig. A very powerful motor with very high torque which was used to spin a super strong tough metal ring. Imagine then a long bar pivoted so that when it was pressed down it made contact with that spinning ring. Where the two touched imagine having a piece of metal static that it. When that bar with the piece of metal attached was forced onto that spinning ring obviously the piece of metal got ruddy hot and started to wear massively. Now after changing the piece of metal and placing a couple of drops of ZX1 the same test done. Full body weight to a point the powerful motor started to slow but the piece of metal looked perfect. No over heating. No smoke. No wear. I was hooked and still am. Other products claiming to aid wear and tear were used but failed miserably. I think Slick 50 was one of them. Like I've said. Companies like Millers have been going for decades and I'm damn sure fuel companies know of them and if they thought Millers products could detract from the properties within the fuel companies petrol they'd certainly tell them that. As far as I know they haven't.
