  1. A question for you Les. I've noticed that there is a very large gap between the last line of your posts and the end of the box it goes in. The question is when you come on the site have you experienced that there is an overlay i.e. another page covers a page you want to read?
  2. https://www.upday.com/uk/electricity-costs-more-than-petrol-for-drivers-on-long-journeys-analysis-shows I just happened across this article. Very interesting. Personally I can't see this changing any time soon and governments have the audacity to ban sales of new petrol cars in what 5 6 years? Pure stupidly.
  3. What a really nice story. You were faced with a top notch sales exec. Lexus Stockport is where I bought my 2nd is300h. The sales exec, Jason I think, was introduced to me after I made the initial inquiry at the reception desk. I knew Stockport had the car and spec I was after and Jason knew of my history after I told him. On test drive I asked him where the roughest surfaced road was, my 1st is300h was awful on bad surfaces. No problem he said and directed me on to a lovely pot holed road. After the first pot hole was hit I said ill have it. Jason was surprised at my reaction of the car and after more explanation of my last is he understood and we went for a nice long test drive. I got top dollar for my mondeo and a favourable payment plan. Drove there in a great mondeo but drove home in a great is300h. From first arriving to driving away was all done in under an hour. Stockport is ruddy good on the service side too.
  4. I looked Into transporting a car from Oz to here. To my surprise there are companies dedicated to do this. One off put is 2 forms of tax. Import and vat so an extra 30% on top plus the transporting and the 2 tests before it would be allowed on our roads makes it unfeasible unless one is oh so dead set in getting one. RC-f at 24k? Wow bargain. Just need a lottery win now.
  5. So you've phoned a lexus dealer. Have you tried a Toyota one? Have you searched independent Lexus or Toyota specialists? As for water pump. I thinknit was irresponsible of the dealer to say that about not needing to change the water pump. 1.5hrs extra? They're taking the wee wee. More like a 10 minute job if that.
  6. Auto trader Australia. 2017 is350 with full service history and 54k miles £24.5k. That's a ruddy bargain. That's just an example.
  7. Very good point Linas. One thing I k ow and am sure you do to is that some folk just don't like a V8 and love the V6 and vice versa.
  8. As for IS350 why is it they're only being looked for in Japan? What's wrong with Australia or New Zealand? Those prices are comparable but shipping might be more I don't know.
  9. That's astonishing the price of those brake back plates. Rip off even. Those plates I bet are quite Toyota generic so I'd look at Toyota cars from around the same year. Even used parts that aren't badly corroded.
  10. Great input Rowley 👍. How you getting on with yours? Missing the is250 by any chance?
  11. By eck John you post some great posts. And Jeffrey I doff my cap to you sir for your agility getting in and out of sports cars 👍. I'm a young whippersnapper of a mere 60 lol. I wish you well in your search. It's weird that I'm sort of showing interest in these beasts. Don't ask me why as I can't answer.
  12. It's on BBC3 on Sundays 7.50pm. To watch the first 2 episodes you'll have to go on BBC iPlayer on your smart TV.
  13. Has anyone watched this? I found it by accident and recorded it. What do I think? I think it's ruddy excellent. No studio based stuff like we are use to. It's all based out doors. If you've not watched it I urge you to. The opening sequence in episode 1 I'll say made me jump as I wasn't expecting it. Its funny. It's informative. Shame it's in 2 half hour shows but hey ho.
  14. I actually did a thread on this very subject last September. Before and after photos. Didn't use a UV protector spray as I didn't have one though I had one on order from the states which didn't arrive. The final polish had some UV protectorant and I've not seen any degradation or yellowing yet since doing it. If you want to see look in the Detailing section of the forum.
  15. Yes I know exactly where you're coming from. The look of Lexus cars is 2nd to none and that includes exotica.
  16. Hi Charlie. I suggest you go I to the gen 1 IS section of the forum. You'll get every answer there.
  17. Quite right David. I got my first Lexus which was the is300h because I loved the look of them and I wanted to go hybrid. Unfortunately I couldn't get use to CVH because all previous cars were manual gearbox. However after a year in a Ford mondeo auto I sought and got another is300h. Similar happened a few years later when I had a RX450H which I couldn't afford to keep. Got another mondeo but diesel but soon after I hankered for another Lexus so after a year I got the is250 I've had now for 3 years and have no reason to swap it unless a lottery win happens lol but that'll mean a move and have a small collection of Lexus of which my is250 would be in.
  18. Your post Linas where you said the BMW M3 is a better car than the RCF because its faster and quicker and handles better. I have to beg to differ. Just because a car is faster than another doesn't mean its better. If I had the money I'd have the RCF over the M3 because it looks oh so much better. The way one would feel in the RCF would be better but most of all the actual ride in the car would be better. The M3 suspension is hard and yes I've been in one a couple years ago. The sound system in the RCF wipes the floor with what BMW provide. As for the older models you're bang on in what you said 👍
  19. Blimey Lucas. 30bhp is enough for the roads considering the amount of traffic and those pesky cameras lol.
  20. Not laughing at you Bernard but your post. So unbelievable that they'd do that that's its hilarious.
  21. Your experience Malc has reminded me when I had my first Lexus. is300h which I wasn't happy with. I wentvto the big BMW dealer in Leeds and had my eye on the active hybrid 3 series 3.0. I was impressed and said I'd have it. What would you give me for my car? Never heard back from them.
  22. Might be irrelevant but here goes. Just watched Fifth Gear Recharge. They did one of their which is best out of a group of cars. Hybrid SUV's was the subject. But plug-in ones and a price tag around £70k. Four brands tested. Volvo Audi BMW Porsche but no Lexus.
