  1. I vividly remember cycling back in my youth and that was in the 60's and 70's. I did it for pure pleasure and the great thing is there wasn't much in the way of cars on the road back then. I learned oh so much about bike control and how to negotiate obstacles like cars lol. It put me in great stead when I started on motorbikes. Anyway a couple of years ago I thought I'd get my bike out (I bought a good one 20 years ago and hardly used it lol) and use it to go to work 1.5 miles away. Jeez it must have been 18 or so years since I rode it and could I ride it? Eventually after a minute or so. Going to work at 4.45am was easy as it was downhill. Coming home at 4pm OMG ruddy hard. Roads full of kamikaze aholes had no idea I was there. I thought to myself this is not a good idea. I have a high respect for cyclists and I for one give way to them. I still have that bike but I'm doubtful I'll ride it again.
  2. Bernard. I don't recall saying your anti or pro anything but if I have and its offended you then I apologise. I think Safe recycling of batteries is a long way off. I can see it being ruddy expensive. Those used batteries still have a reasonable life in them, unless they're really shot, and can be used a huge power banks. They can be charged by unused electricity at low use times of the day for example. Dya know what Linas. Have you considered going into politics? I for one would vote for you. Yes we've had our differences but your passion on this subject of all to do with EV you should get into politics to make the 'numpties ' of this country listen and understand. When I first heard about hydrogen I was hooked. Then I went off it and I can't think why but now I'm hooked again. Yes it's dirty in its manufacture But it's the way forward because those precious metals etc for batteries are gonna run out quite soon plus they're working on other cleaner ways to make it.
  3. Hi Dean. Try using an android phone and see if you experience the same. When I had my is300h I had no Bluetooth issues where music streaming was concerned. The only issue I had was with phone call recognition. The cure was to go through my contacts and replace the zero with +44. After that the name and nu.ber of the caller would show. Another point about your iPhone. There Bluetooth is different to android Bluetooth so that is where the problem may appear. Search the forum as I'm sure this has come up before but a few years back.
  4. WOW what a subject of recycling the batteries of EV'S. Now that would take mega Watts of electricity to do so there's surely a contradiction in there somewhere. I remember a programme on TV a year or 3 ago. An EV specialist down south somewhere, dedicated service to EV'S and only EV'S, where they replaced worn out batteries with new uprated ones. Now the clever thing they did with the old ones was to put them in racking ,can't remember if wired in parallel or series, and use them as a power source to power the garage. How long those old batteries would last till they really gave up the ghost I don't know but I'd reckon a good few years. Maybe by then a reasonably priced method to recycle those batteries would be out there.
  5. Hi Steve. The only thing that increases with an aftermarket intake pipe is induction noise. There's a few threads here about such pipe.
  6. Our of curiosity I've searched for wiper blades. The Bosch ones are described correctly on ebay what I've seen at 22.99 so if those are the ones you got then send them back as wrong ones were sent. I hang my head in shame for saying the passenger side one should be ok.
  7. Have you not placed the passenger wiper next to the one on your car just to see how it looks? Don't waste your time and effort on a refund until you've actually tried it against what you have already. The drivers side is correct yes? The passenger side one is 1" longer but will probably work better.
  8. Look on ebay. There's plenty out there and a few British based and offer colour matching. Expect around 200 quid painted.
  9. I see where you're coming from but basically the driver's side is the same length. The passenger side is 1" longer. This could be an issue in the rest position but the best way to tell is fit them and test them.
  10. I saw two videos today from the same poster. First video was of a Nissan Note he bought cheap. A 40kw battery and 10 years old car. Battery had degraded to 66% capacity. The video I saw was where he filled it as full as possible with electricity and then drive it at 70mph till it was oh so near dead. 54 miles he got. Anyway the other was with the Toyota Mirai hydrogen car to see how long it took to fill with hydrogen. 4 mins 35 seconds to fill it with near 5kg of hydrogen. It cost him 60 sommat dollars. 64 I think. I'm not sure what I think of that. But there again 64 dollars, what's that about 65 quid? to do 400 miles. That's ruddy good I'd say. In America it looks like there's quite a lot of hydrogen fill up stations and that a lot of them make the hydrogen on site. Now I wonder how much one of those hydrogen making units cost to make and set up to run.
  11. just watched this after it came up duecto algorithm. Really really good. Yes flawed a little but by rubber duck what this fella says is BANG ON 👍👌👏
  12. Costco the cheapest? But don't you have to be a member? Not everybody can join, I know my profession isn't included in who can join.
  13. Well said Ian. The question has been asked thousands of times over the decades. Just where does the money go to from taxes on the motorists? Not on the ruddy roads it doesn't, is the thought of at least 90% of us motorists. Oh just to be clear. Taxes on the motorists. I mean road tax. Tax on fuel. Tax on Insurance. Tax on the parts we sometimes buy.
  14. WOW I can't remember fuel at that price. Well done Asda.
  15. Just more codswallop on the radio with self centred self opinionated numpties preaching their utter nonsense.
  16. Re landlords needing to put chargers on their properties. It was actually put to them some time ago but as you'd expect they kicked off because of cost and the fear of damage due to a disgruntled tennant. Something like a law was put in place about a year or more ago stating all new houses being built have to have a charging point. Note Charging Point. Some building firms put a 13amp socket on the outside wall. Now that really is funny as it basically is not illegal but an almighty wee wee take. If a law is made it should be water tight and not be taken the P out of. But the point is the law is there but the builders are going to just do the bare minimum.
  17. Great Post Frank. I laughed because just today I watched a TV show The Persuaders. Yes The Persuaders. Just in case you don't know it's one of the best ever tv shows which had Roger Moore and Tony Curtis two MEGA stars as sleuths. This particular show involved finding a crashed plane with a skeleton in it clutching a box and note. In the box was a formula to make a fuel not involving oil. The note said whoever finds this please burn the formula because the world isn't ready for it. That skeleton was the investor and his plane had a bomb in it to kill him. Who organised the bomb was an oil tycoon.
  18. this is a very good video and not only funny but honest too which makes a pleasant change. Enjoy.
  19. Hello and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. O? What's that short for? I suggest you introduce yourself in the GS section of the forum. There you'll find all the info you want from fellow owners.
  20. Oh how I laughed when I read an article which I'll tell the short of it. York Council spent good few million on 25 Electric Trucks to replace the existing rubbish collection trucks. Just how ####Ing thick they are is that there's no ruddy charges for them. The council don't have the Infrastructure for them yet so the new trucks are hidden away outdoors out of the way. Oh and they bought them months ago apparently. Tebay services I know well and there are quite a few tesla charges on that site. Abington Services about 86 miles north of Tebay have about 8 tesla chargers and 2 normal chargers. They've recently put in operation 6 or 8 more chargers. Mind you Tebay is really really popular because of the ultra posh farm shop. Lots of posh expensive cars in the carpark.
  21. Good points Lucas but you've got me wrong in certain things regarding EV's. I'm certainly not in denial how not so green they are. Fact is they're not as green as many owners of them have been led to believe. In my particular situation an EV makes perfect sence. However. I'm not a snob but 90% of the cars I've owned have been top of the range. So to have a top of the range EV is out of the question because they're oh so expensive. Oh the thing about mobile phones were ruddy expensive years ago but now everyone has one. Yes everyone does but have you noticed what kind of phone they have? Yeah the latest all singing all dancing type on credit. So that's a naff analogy. Anyway back to what I was saying. To have an EV would cost as much as I paid for my bungalow 5 years ago. To have a charger installed at a suitable location would cost near 5k. The price of electricity is really high but may be coming down slowly. So let's call it 70k. Ruddy he'll 70kbwould make my is250 as mint as mint can get and I'd have 65k. But would I? No coz I still have a mortgage. EV'S have their placeas does petrol and diesel cars. I'm just fed up of the blinkered EV evangelists harking on and on and on spouting fictional facts.
  22. It's getting monotonous all the talk EV's are the saviour EV's are rubbish. That article I posted is the complete opposite of a YouTube video I saw earlier. An EV dealer drove a long range tesla model 3 about 350 miles on one charge. Yeah that's great and if you've got your own charger then it's a no brainer if you can afford it. And then it's the comments below the video of the anti fossil fuel brigade. OMG what a bunch of numpties as described by TalkTV?
  23. Ok. I was only wondering because of the huge gap between your last line and the bottom of the box you write in. I had the same but also page on page. Found out its the VPN in my zonealarm security.
