  1. I cleaned my built in single gas oven today. Replaced the grills for shiny new ones. It looks really nice now but I still won't use it coz gas ovens are wasteful of gas. Oh Malc. The only Ninja I know of is the Kawasaki Ninjas 🤣
  2. Hee hee David what a find. Personally I miss the pop up aerial. If a car of mine didn't have one I'd retro fit one. I miss them. And those quarter light windows? What an invention. But air con wiped them out. They were cheap to replace in the good ole days of smash n grab. I know through experience lol.
  3. Hello Vate. Welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. I see you have a 2021 RX350? Is that a typing error?
  4. Correct Graham but Chris I believe have a tesla and those owners have a charging network 2nd to none but they even fail. Charging a car at work I'd say only works at office type buildings. You won't find a charger at a factory making biscuits or a logistics yard or a fruit n veg delivery firm. As for supermarkets there few and far between from what I've seen.
  5. Hi John. I've been doing some research and looking at reviews etc. I've decided against techstream even tho it may be the best but I'm not tech/computer savvy and I know if I got techstream it'd wind me up lol. So I'm juggling with 3 hand held scanners at about the 60-80 quid mark. Reason I'm finally getting a scanner is because of the dreaded check VSC and other lights popping up a few times a year. Disconnecting the battery etc etc is just masking a possible fault. With the car being 15 years old some sensors must surely be on their way out so I want to see what's what.
  6. I've looked online and have seen a lot of websites stating Techstream with 16 pin dongles and 22 pin dongles and have found it confusing and wondering if they're genuine or not.
  7. Silly question now. Where do I get it from? Is it a Bluetooth dongle and a programme on a laptop or phone?
  8. The thing now Bill is not range anxiety but charger availability and reliability of said charger. The rate of charger installations is oh so slow. About 3k a year but it needs to be nearer 10k installations. Other fuel types are coming through like synthetic fuel for instance. But yes who knows what will be in 7-10 years.
  9. As the title asks. I'm asking as I'm taking the plunge. Was going to get the Carista but unfortunately due to hardware limitations they don't do one. Oh confirmed by Carista after I emailed them. So what do you folk use?
  10. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Vehicles only produce about 3-5max % of pollution in towns and cities. The buildings in those towns and cities produce over, if I remember right, about 25-30% pollution. Oh Kish have you driven the UX250H? Sorry but it wipes the floor with the CT.
  11. Way hey I've seen those articles recently. Someone very clever down there in Oz 👍
  12. Samantha let me correct you on a thing or 2. The fact is and I found that out recently and posted a video about it in that the batteries in EV'S do Not lose capacity as much as been misled. For example a tesla model s with 100k miles and about 5 years old only lost 3% capacity. A Nissan Note I think it was after 10 years and over 100k miles lost around 12% capacity. I was surprised by that. As for weights of EV'S. I've looked at a good few EV'S and their petrol counterparts and there's about a 250-300kg difference. Not a small amount but not a huge amount either. Otherwise you're bang on 👍
  13. Blimey Malc a 60's type grill over cooker. They were Great. I'm a halogen oven user. It's made my single built-in gas oven redundant. Electric kettle fast boil for tea and coffee, i switch it off just as it starts to boil. Only put just over a cup full in. Nespresso machine for fancy coffee. Gas hob for Full control of the frying pan. Oh and a 4 slice toaster.
  14. Must admit Paul your post made me giggle a bit. Yes it's a phenomenon how sound travels. How long have you had the is250? How do you find Lexus Bolton to use? I use Stockport and both are equidistant to me just about.
  15. Hi Neil and welcome to Lexus ownership especially the is250 👍and the best Lexus forum there is. We're here to help when you need and want it. Just look in the gen 2 IS section as there's loads of threads in there to read and learn. Enjoy your car. A few photos would be nice. What spec car is yours? What made you go for a Lexus and especially the is250? What was your previous car?
  16. Blimey Linas you take things quite literally lol. But yes averaging things out doesn't work on everything. It could also be very misleading. Has anyone seen the thread on Synthetic fuel? Very interesting and pleasing.
  17. Ceramic hobs are basically s#it. They take an age to warm up. It's Ceramic bricks in storage heaters. Induction hobs are instant heat just like a halogen oven. For a hob Gas is best but Induction is as good Except you need pots and pans specific for Induction. From memory the base of these pots etc are thicker to stop warpage. For oven Electric is best. Fan type. I worked for Hotpoint years ago and have delivered 10's of thousands of appliances and saw how tech changed and when Induction came out. It was ruddy expensive then. But 29 quid now for one sheeeess.
  18. I've just watched a video from someone I'm subscribed to. Classic cars and restoration etc. He's got a most wonderful Rover 800 Vitesse turbo which he restored to mint and I absolutely love that car. Anyway he drove it 100 miles to the heritage car centre to talk to a guy about synthetic fuel. Below is the video. Enjoy.
  19. Some very good points. I'm about to start a new thread that really surprised me and cheered me up. Keep an eye out. Along the lines of synthetic fuel.
  20. Hi Lorri. Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to what the dealer had to say about it and what they did to rectify the issue.
  21. After thinking about your query I suggest you search for an is250 find one you like and tell that detailer ok m8 you can have it for so much. The price of an is250 as they are oh so much far superior cars and as economical.
  22. Hi Steve. Excellent thread you've started. So you press your foot operated hand brake down 7 clicks? That to me seems a lot. I'm sure my car only clicks 4 or 5 times. My car goes to Lexus every year as it has a full lexus history and they check it and in 4 services in my ownership have adjusted it once.
  23. Hi Lorri. Beautiful car you have. Take a chill pill. Contact the dealer you got the car from. Was it a Lexus dealer? Take the car back to them in the morning or afternoon and get them to have a look. You have a minimum of a 3 month guarantee.
