Interesting reading how some have a drink with a meal. Long gone are the meals out except for a Sunday carvery but that doesn't count to me. A bitter shandy accompanies that. A very large Deep South is had with my Friday evening treat which is a mixed kebab on naan. Lamd donner. Chicken donner and Sikh kebab x2 with a large salad and yoghurt sauce.

Hello you lovely folk. I'm not sure if there's a thread on this subject but if there is then I apologise. Why have I started this thread? Well I've happened upon an alcoholic beverage which has blown my socks off. One or three of you may know my tipple is Real Ale. For example Abott Ale, Old Tom, Old Peculiar. Abott is what I mostly drink when I'm out. When I'm home then it's Deep South and Canada Dry. Deep South is Asdas take on Southern Comfort but to me it's just nicer. Oh and it has to be Canada Dry to go with it. Now what have I recently come across and finally bought a couple of bottles of? Grey Goose Vodka. Geeeeez what a superbly fabulous drink this is. They serve it in Wetherspoon pubs, that's where I first came across it (my wife likes Vodka and red bull but because I want the best for her I'll not get a Vodka less than 40% abv. Absolut Vodka is 40% but there's a chemical taste behind it. I saw Grey Goose at 40% and got that. OMG what a taste) and I'm hooked. So as far as a Pint goes (can't get Old Tom in a pint but go with me) my favourite pint is Old Tom followed by Old Peculiar followed by Abotts. As for shorts it's Deep South but followed by Grey Goose. I'm not a Vodka guy. Last time I got excited by a Vodka was 20 years ago when Morrisons had a 40% Vodka named Moranov. That was a fabulous Vodka. Had to be, like all good vodkas, put in the freezer for at leat 24 hours. Characteristic changes after being in the freezer are so noticeable. The fluidity changes. Smoothness is aplenty. I've not mentioned wine. I use to be staunch full bodied Red but I like a good Dry white. I look forward in reading what you lot like.

Bit of a my bad. Fuel rail and MAF sensor were the to points tuning boxes connected to. Sorry to have confused you possibly.
-
See if the wires go to the fuel rail and air temp sensor. Those were favorite points to plug into with those tuning boxes. Oh what full I had with the king of tuning boxes the RonBox on my MG ZT diesel many moons ago. Fact, from 135bhp to 152bhp gain. Great plumes of black smoke if I felt like fully flooring it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh happy days.

Some codes are a bugger to delete. I can't remember which one I had on my departed is250 but it took me quite a few attempts and a week or two to finally get it deleted. At least now you have techstream 👍

You seem to be going thru the mill with this issue. It's good you're electrically knowledgeable. Have you asked the place where you got the battery swap their opinion? Have you asked a lexus dealer for an opinion? Something has come to mind. I've personally experienced that changing a battery in a laptop can throw up all kinds of krap. A battery that's none standard caused issues. When I got an OE battery then no issues. Just an observation but true. Maybe the new HV battery isn't actually performing right. Dodgy to put it bluntly. It can happen.

Now that problem is huge in the mk2 ford focus. Dry joints in the circuit board in the dash.
-
This may sound daft but. Since you've had new batteries etc maybe the motors are getting more juice than they used to and are working with a more pronounced whir. I'm no electrical engineer but my common sense is kicking in. I seen to recall I had a similar whir with my beloved RX450H I had a few years back. (I miss that car). But also possible that when all that HV work was done that a connection or two may be just a little loose or dirty. Just reiterating what Colin suggested.
-
Hi Ro. Did you manage to cure the issue you had?
-
Hi Sean. You say you had both 12v and High Voltage batteries changed. Where did you have this done? Why did you have to have this done? How many miles are on your car?
-
Hi Nat. First off get a copy of Techstream. Your diagnosis tool is basically krap. Techstream is Toyota/Lexus specific and is as good as what the dealer has but just the price of a CD. Get Techstream then use it to do a proper diagnosis. It'll also tell you where to look for the problem. Look on ebay or on the Techstream website.

Blimey we're taking over this forum 🤣🤣🤣. Welcome to the best Lexus forum there is fellow Vlad. I've had 2 is300h and they're a fabulous car. Very reliable. Best to get a car with Full Lexus service history. Keep that history going by taking it to Lexus for servicing. Yes Lexus service costs a little more But you'll get a proper dedicated service and not a 'fix n mend oh that'll do' back street service. Remember you get what you pay for. Afterall you Need a reliable car for taxiing so look after it and it'll look after you. Plus with a Lexus service you can get a Lexus courtesy car too. Keep us upto date with your search.

IS250 - New beginning (bit of an ongoing "project")
Mr Vlad replied to H3XME's topic in Modifications & Tuning
Lovely looking car that Lucas. Worth the wait and arguably as good or better than the is350. Wishing you many happy Mike's in it m8. 👍 -
That's awful news Jules. However take on board what Len said. Buy the car back and with what's left of the insurance money which I'm guessing will be a couple grand you'll just need to find a good body shop. OR you could take the car to your Lexus dealer to see what they thought and get a quote. Get the quote in writing and itemised items that may need to be bought. Then if it's reasonable let them do it or take your list to a good recommend body shop. Either way it'll be cheaper than buying another unknown car. I got just under £5k for my 2007 SE-L is250 last August when I wrote it off.

Hi Jane. Look on ebay for the latest available version. If memory serves it'll be a 2011 disc. What I'm concerned with however is the message No Disc. Look on YouTube how to change the disc. It's easy but to explain would take an age. You'll need 2 very thin screwdrivers, like watch makers screwdrivers.

Lexus 2is Bluetooth Working with Mark Levinson is220d is250

As Bogdan has stated. Definitely get the L shaped USB adapter. How you've got yours will cause cable breakage. -
side battery cables

Ahhhh right. There's no reason whatsoever to cut any cables to change a battery. Just remove the battery temperature sensor and pull it to one side. Take the top cover off and undo the terminals and remove battery. BUT before you do anything charge your new battery with a smart charger. Yes charger it. Your car will love you for it. -

IS250 - New beginning (bit of an ongoing "project")
Mr Vlad replied to H3XME's topic in Modifications & Tuning
Nice Lucas. Blimey I saw a stunning is250 today in the underground carpark at the Abode Hotel Chester (I was making a delivery) oh it made me hanker for another one. It was a superb colour, a metallic grey and wonderful 5 spoke wheels from a Premier I'd say. That headunit looks really good and OE. Has it android auto etc? -
Hello Andrew. Just buy standard ones from Lexus Direct. There's aren't many none standard available for your car. £350 each is a fair amount to pay. Just consider how long the Original ones on your car have lasted. Lexus/Toyota spent Millions on research. Just stick with originals.
