  1. Eh up Bernard. I very much doubt the free charging fir life that tesla gave owners some years back is still on. Something is telling me that from a YouTube video from a dedicated used tesla dealer that the guy stated that the free charging had stopped. That it use to be transferred to the next owner but tesla stopped that. I'm sure I'm not far off the mark. I think tho that owners from new who still have that car and it qualified for free charging for life do still have free charging for life.
  2. Since you have techstream Linas I'd test the pump by doing a bleed test. This will show if the pump works or not. And blimey. Corrosion found in connectors in sealed areas? That's weird. Something somewhere within that sealed area there must be air leak. And yes since your car is in a limp mode then there's a different issue. But our cars have the weirdest electrics. I mean. A dodgy fuel cap bringing up a check VSC? I thought I had a dodgy handbrake switch as it would come on willy nilly. But guess what. It was that corrosion in the ABS pump connector plug. Easy cars to work on but crazy electrics.
  3. That's interesting Bernard that there are tesla's in Europe with approx 373k miles (600k km). Going off a programme I watched where a 4 or 5 year old tesla model S with 100k miles only lost about 5% of its battery capability. Now I'm no scientist or tekky but to me batteries lose capability either linearly or exponentially. I think batteries lose more as time goes by. But still I would've buy a BEV new second hand or third hand even tho it makes sense for me to. I'm waiting for synthetic fuel 👍
  4. Hi Linas. No my car didn't go into limp mode. I paid £118.00 for my replacement pump from the place I mentioned. Got a few mo ths guarantee with it. I contacted them over something and they came back to me in a most pleasant way. For the price I paid look on ebay but make a note of the numbers on top of the pump on the plastic part. 3 rows of numbers 2 columns. There are used pumps on ebay at under 50 quid but I chose the seller coz he had the one I needed plus tested and a guarantee. No brainer at that price. Can't remember if you have techstream but you need a scanner that does ABS bleeding. Some good videos on YouTube.
  5. Hi Danny. Yes I keep the engine covers on all the time. I replaced all the locking pin studs a couple years ago. I've never pressure washed an engine bay ever. I can only imagine that water got near the ABS pump c/o an ill fitting windscreen A pillar mould. I replaced the offside one a couple years ago with a used one but it's fit by the scuttle left a gap of about 5mm. Replaced again last week with a new genuine one and the fit is like factory.
  6. Since I couldn't edit the title of the similar sounding thread I thought I'd re-do it so it's as clear as day. I was getting codes 1210 and 0273 after scanning with my copy of techstream. Permanent check VSC and engine light on and Brake light on and ABS light on my dash. It was really peeing me off. I don't know what made me check the connection from the wiring loom to the ABS pump but OMG I'm glad I did. How the hell water got into that multiplug I've no idea. These pictures tell the story. Anyway I had no choice but to get a replacement ABS pump which I did c/o ABS pump specialist in Cork Ireland through eBay. You have to be careful when choosing a pump because there are quite a few different ones even though they look the same. On top of the pump unit, the black plastic part, you'll see a series of numbers. Make sure you get matching numbers to what's on your cars pump. Anyway today I went to a local garage and the guy swapped over pumps and bled it. No more lights on my dash yippeeee. So if you're getting the check VSC etc etc disconnect the multiplug from the ABS pump to check for water ingress damage. If water got into mine then there's no reason it won't get into yours.
  7. I've read a couple of items stating that converting petrol and diesel cars to run on hydrogen is very possible and relatively easy. It can only be a good thing and economical.
  8. WOW Bill. Quite possibly the best post I've read on any forum. Concise. Accurate. Passionate. Well done sir. I doff my cap to you. What you said Malc is Bang on. And Renato. lol maybe you started another contentious thread accidentally by asking what happened to my thread regards conspiracies. Isn't life great 🤣
  9. https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/e-fuel/ More good news.
  10. You're post is quite interesting Chris. You have a tesla and it suits you well. I think it's stretching it a bit saying the batteries will last 600k miles. But yes batteries will last longer than what folk think. Tesla owners are fortunate to have a great charging infrastructure and its a credit to Mr Musk. Electric is Not the answer to climate this n that. Hydrogen will play a much bigger part and the way things are going it'll be sooner rather than later. WOW that ferry looks great. Liquid Hydrogen now that's another great way forward. The future is looking bright. Hydrogen, synthetic fuels, yes batteries, hey and who knows smokeless coal power!
  11. Actually places like kick fit are owned by tyre manufacturers. They'll recommend the brand the shop is owned by. It's not just 'cheap' tyres that are bad but some so called premium ones too. I hate Michelin as my experience some years back proved. When I bought my is250 3 years ago it came with a cheap tyre on the front. Eurovis. They were good to a point but with easy over 5mm tread on them they've been scared and replaced with Bridgestone turanza t005 like my rear tyres. And boy oh boy the suspension gives up before the tyre now lol.
  12. My personal opinion regarding the unfortunate deaths which were attributed to covid is this. Those who died of covid did Not die of covid itself. Those unfortunate souls had underlying issues which would eventually have killed them. Covid just triggered something in those underlying issues and worked its evil magic on them causing death. The news reports of those deaths were sketchy at best. Bordering on false news broadcasting. As for whether an earthquake took place or not. Geeeeez. It goes to show even the most educationally qualified folk can be as thick as dog pooh.
  13. Excellently put Donk. I've mentioned a good while back that, I'll use the word pollution, pollution has been man made for centuries. The industrial revolution must have caused mega tons of nasty stuff. The multitude of cotton Mills in Lancashire creating smog on smog. Of course things must have been said but if it wasn't for the industrial revolution then where the rubber duck would we be now. There's far too many do-gooders who are basically self centred egocentric A holes who want to make life sheeite for everyone else. Interesting animation video but I got bored of it after where that poor 'guy' was searching for pulp fiction to watch. Some folk don't arf have a vivid imagination lol.
  14. Hi Dan. I don't know. I suggest you ask in the LS section of the forum where you'll find knowledgeable LS owners who will be more than happy to help you.
  15. That's interesting Hugh. Drilling two holes in the exhaust. What did/does that do to noise? And holes in exhausts, a MOT failure surely!
  16. Miles. See Steve's post. He's a guddun too.
  17. Hi Dan. SE-L is trim level and nothing to do with long wheel base.
  18. WOW what is the issue? How long have you had the car? Did you buy it outright or on a finance? If finance I'd contact the finance company and explain that the car is faulty to a point you no longer trust it and you are intent on returning it as unfit for use. See what their response is. Also seek legal advice. This is a very very rare issue against a Lexus dealer. Best of luck.
  19. Oh a few very funny comments made. What make me laugh also that the OP to the thread only made one comment and that was the opening post! Maurice you just love skirting round an issue don't you lol. John. I've stated categorically that I have personally bypassed egrs and have had complete dpf removal and tuning done more than a few times on diesel cars ive had and have not been reprimanded by admin for it. So sorry pal what you suggested was wrong if my experience has anything to do with it. You know what Miles. It looks like you're not gonna get any joy from admin unfortunately. Maybe contact Colin Barber directly. He's a senior global moderator and a top geezer. Gives it to you straight. Private message him and hopefully he'll be able to give you a satisfactory reason and get your original username back in use.
  20. It's ok Miles. I find it totally strange how admin twisted your complaint as an attack on them. Maurice. I think you totally got the wrong end of the stick regarding Miles. Just what did you read of Miles's that in your opinion crossed the line? In my opinion he did Not cross any line. And its more than remis that admin have not explained their 'punishment ' and it has put a blight on what I think of this forum.
  21. WOW. I've heard of warnings being given. I have a permanent one due to my reactions to the very same member you complained about. I've also known of complete threads being blocked by admin. However I'm totally shocked admin have ignored your emails. Are you sending direct ones or via the contact us on the site? When I learned I and a few others were not allowed to view that thread I contacted admin c/o the contact us link and got a reply a day or 2 later. It's a travesty that you have had such punishment for making a complaint against another member.
  22. Can't answer that as I've no idea. Am not a scientist.
  23. Hi John. Yes they all seem to come from China. You can get genuine Lexus ones but as you'll see they ain't cheap
