Ahhhhhhh. Did you clean the throttle body too? I did similar quite some time ago. Had the high idle revs. After some Internet searches I found a cure. I posted it but can't remember where. Basically nowt to do with a pressure regulator. The throttle needs re learning.

Well Mr Groundhog. The E10 protectorate could be Millers EPS. I've been using it for a good few months now. Only use it when I fill up with E10. I don't notice a difference But because it's Millers and I trust them implicitly and been using their products for decades. I'm confident my fuel system components are out of harms way when using EPS.

Yes trying to get through to the doctors is one helluva topic on its own. My wife's pet hate is the receptionist asking for health details. My wife tells them You're Not the doctor and Not qualified so I'm Not telling you. She gets put through rapidly.

Well I never. My is250 service and MOT due mid August. I've just received an email stating my service due soon and can be done online. If I'm not ready to book online then they'll phone me sometime nearer the time. Last year I got a call that the service and MOT were due. The only time I've had to phone my dealer was when the alternator packed up. I got through in seconds. Just goes to show Not all dealers are what you'd expect a Lexus dealer to be.

Hi Malcolm. To remove the old CD there is a link on the satnav screen. Look in settings. As for the 2018 disc. I forget if that is compatible with the gen 2 IS. Look in the gen 2 IS section as there are a few threads on upgrading the cars infotainment screen. Yes it'll cost around £350 But you'll have an ultra modern system that looks stock.

Yes Gang hydrogen fuel stations have closed down. I can't remember which company they belonged to but yes they closed them down. But from what I read they were closed for modernisation. And yes these huge battery charging stations being built to charge 50 ish vehicles. Needs more than just a 13amp fuse eh? lol. These super stations Need HUGE amounts of electricity. Unfortunately the grid just isn't up to the task. Thing is tho that these companies that have built these super stations aren't stupid. Oh no. Roofs being plastered in solar panels. And huge storage batteries on site that come into use when there's a surge in use. Now because of the HUGE investment I can't see using one of these super stations to be reasonably priced to use. But time will tell. Oh and isn't it funny how these super stations are all 'darn sarf'?

I stopped using 'branded' fuel over 15 years ago. I was staunch advocate of the stuff but one day I had no choice but to fill up on asda fuel. From then on I thought rubber duck those rip off merchants and have stuck with asda fuel or tesco since. Oh. My cars have been the top of the range sport derivative and turbo'd petrol cars and guess what. There's no f ing difference. If you want to waste your hard earned on branded then that's your choice. Me? I'm no fool.

Hi Rob. If your mechanic says the pump seems to work OK then he's probably not a very good trustworthy mechanic. That dealer at Cheshie Oaks seems a good one. I suggest you book your car in for a 'proper' diagnosis and a quote for work needed to be done. You might aswell use a dealer as you'll get a proper job done with a proper years guarantee. Have you considered getting a copy of techstream? Look in this section for VCS problems and within you'll find which copy of techstream to get. Techstream will give you a proper scan as its what toyota/ lexus use. You can clear the code and see how the car drives. If it goes into limp mode again then techstream will tell you exactly what's wrong.

Malc. Fill up with E10 and use 10 x 50l fills. Its what I use in my is250 and my car drives as it should. Oh I buy this in multi packs hence saving more.

Re the OBVIOUS difference in that screenshot. If you want to get serious then forget the screenshot. Look at the side profile. If anything has been painted then its the rear door. The rear quarter panel and sill and top panel and front door and front wing are the same shade/colour. The rear door is lighter. To look at a paint finish on a car you look at it at night where the car is illuminated by an overhead street light. That's been done for decades. Oh. I've spent far too much time in spray shops in my 20's and 30's. I think of myself as knowledgeable when it comes to paint jobs. Oh. The metallics are in the clear coat not in the colour. Re damage to that car. Basically there ISN'T any. It's the poor lighting in the studio where the photos were taken. All panel gaps are bang on. As for upgrading to an android. Look in this 3rd gen IS section as I'm sure there are one or two threads on just this subject. It's good that you have a Lexus dealer nearby. By all means take the car there and get it booked in for a service and inspection. Ask about a service plan. A modest monthly cost for 3 years servicing. I don't know if there is a MOT test there where you are. With the car being a hybrid. Lexus have something called the Hybrid Health Check. This is a stand alone inspection of the traction batteries and motors. This is a yearly inspection but it keeps the Lexus guarantee going.

Oh dear Gang and Shahpor. I'm sorry to say this but the way I see it you have read John's posts with some kind weird spectacles. You've taken umbrage to his beliefs and concerns which yes have been quite heavily put. You've refused for what ever reason to ignore his findings and yes lots of copy paste articles and yes mostly 'anti' BEV. I'm anti BEV because of the utter profiteering of the companies associated with traction battery manufacturer. The use of children to dig up by hand the 'precious' materials and with that the tragic loss of life of too many of those children. Profiteering has a lot to answer for. Yes an electrically powered car is a great idea But alternatives to what's used now NEED to be developed and from what I've read here and there their is development taking place. This thread I started and its about what's wrong with electric cars. It's turned out quite well with branched out topics. Hydrogen and Synthetic fuel which I believe will come to fruition quicker than the development of a traction battery made from 'friendly' materials. John's taken to block your comments. That's his perogative. I've taken no umbrage to any post he's done. I've appreciated quite a few of them. There has unfortunately been a few misinformed posts and totally wrong. For example 'pollution' from tyres being worse from BEV's. Someone did however correct that and clearly differentiated between tread wear and particulates of rubber. That's the great thing about forums. There are informative folk and misinformed folk within them. I love 'em all, even if I disagree with them.

Blimey Linas youdont half go round in circles sometimes. You totally missed the meanings within my previous post. Having headlights on in daylight is absolutely absurd. The only headlights to be on in daylight are very poor light emitting halogen types. Xenon and LED types absolutely Not. They do Not give a pedestrian a better idea how far a car is, it more likely confuses them as the dazzle is off putting. DRL's are excellent in daylight. Headlights Should be switched on as soon as the daylight has dimmed or its overcast or cloudy. Yes DRL's are unfortunately only on the front of cars. I see daily car operators in the evening with just the DRL's on and no other lights. I take pleasure in flashing them and sounding my horn. If I pass them, which more often than not I do, I'll flicker my rear fog lights. I've even shouted at the dingbats to switch your lights on. As mentioned cars of late have the indicators within the headlight unit. More often than not that signal can not be seen in daylight when headlights are on. Another pet hate is dingbats who have their rear high intensity lights on when it's not foggy. But that's something else. If anyone wants to have their headlights on in daylight and an incident is caused because of dazzlement then they're in deep pooh.

Personally speaking the thought of these day driving lights is stupid and irresponsible. These new cars with these super bright LED type headlights are not only dazzling but blinding also. But the same can be said for Xenon and upgraded Halogen. I drive professionally in both night time going into daytime. By virtue of this I see just about everything there is to see and of late my biggest pet hate is headlights on in daylight. So a thought is to be seen eh? If you're not seen then it's not down to not having lights on but because those vehicle operatives are either myopic or on a different planet or doing something they're not supposed to. If those operators around you were actually paying due care and attention then all would be good. Having daytime headlights on can cause more harm than do good. The vehicles with day driving lights which in my mind are ok are those with those lights below the headlights that do not project a piercing beam of light.

Well there you go John. I am however surprised you haven't got a copy of techstream yourself. In the meantime of waiting for the dealer to contact you why don't you get at that switch and see if it's wiring plug is fully home.

Mmmmmm could you have then a dodgy switch? If you've had to yank and pull the switch really hard then it sounds like a dodgy switch. I don't know how the switch looks but maybe you can remove it and see if it comes apart so as to clean its contacts.

Can't see someone with a BEV and an ICE car being carbon neutral. For one the, as you oh so correctly put, abhorrent mining of precious minerals metals etc to manufacture the batteries costs what around 70% more than producing an ICE car. What did Volvo say? It'll take about 10 years of running the BEV before it starts to become carbon neutral. Now because I'm a working class fella my view is those with a BEV and an ICE car are rich snobs or lottery winners which in that case good on them.

That's not a problem Daniel. You can by a CD drive that sits next to your computer and plugs in via USB. I run techstream on Windows 10 without issues. The seller I got my copy from is very helpful in setting things up.

Yes Scotland is a fabulous place to visit. Dependant on time of travel there it takes just over 4.5 hours from Manchester to Edinburgh in a truck at 02.30am. But because of the return trip 'home' it usually takes between 6 and 8 hours back. M6 is a wonderful road but ruddy hell it's full of morons making it rubbish for the rest of us. Yes that article mentioned All methods of fuelling travel. It also mentioned being duped into buying BEV. You've chosen the tesla for your own personal reasons which is fine. But where I feel disheartened by BEV owners is they don't give a rats ***** about how the batteries got made. If they did then no BEV's would be sold. That's how I personally see it and why I'd Never go BEV even if it did make economic sense which actually it doesn't now.
