  1. I'm very surprised at your comments on your cars headlights. I have to definitely disagree. The dual xenon headlights on the gen 3 IS are excellent in dip and main beam. The cars you see with glaring headlights are illegal in that wrong bulbs in wrong headlights are being used. That is conversion to higher bright light from headlights. Wrong reflectors and lenses. I suggest take your car to a MOT station and get the levels checked of the headlights. On my car the lights are superb.
  2. As above. Using the snow mode is excellent and makes it near impossible to spin the wheels. I recommend you test drive a few of the model you're looking at. Get a feel for how they drive.
  3. Lexus states it's on a new platform but it don't half look like the Toyota CHR which makes me think they're basically the same car as the new NX and the new Rav 4 are. I'll be keeping an eye on it me thinks.
  4. Save your money and stick with Bluetooth. In my ML system there is no difference in quality between using a lead and Bluetooth.
  5. You drive a hybrid not an EV car. Use the engine to get to speed (less than 40) then use the batteries to continue. EV can be used alone but only in stop start traffic really. Best of both worlds our cars.
  6. Mmmmm those f sport seats look good and symmetric. My premium seats are not symmetrical. The bolster that is nearest the door has a wider panel which allows it to deform comfortably when getting in and out of the car. My car is a 64 plate with 24k miles. I suppose time will tell if wear appears.
  7. Oh. Kindly explain then how the clock in my premier premium feels very cold to the touch if it were made of plastic? Mines metal.
  8. Just turn the auto function off when you park up for the night.
  9. @steve44 the analogue clock is class and shows the luxury of the car. Way better than any lcd time piece.
  10. I think the thing about the boot lid swinging open quickly is basically Don't Stand So Close To Your Car. My 64 plate premium lifts effortlessly and I've never come close to making chin or head contact with it. Just be careful.
  11. I don't know Ben. Look in your owners handbook for the tyre pressure and check each one. Also check the TPMS in your car and that it's set to what the handbook states. Maybe also get your lexus dealer to check your cars traction control light and sensors. Maybe a sensor is a bit dicky. Worth a look I'd say.
  12. I agree with Rayaans. Altho you have the same brand tyres then they're either at the wrong pressures or sub standard which is possible. Yes there are copies of tyres with bad consequences.
  13. The only improvement I'd like for my car is the introduction of soft materials above the door frame areas. Why? Coz if I have the seat height set to perfection I'd be banging my head on the hard plastic used causin me to curse. Otherwise my car is superb. Great speed and economy. Sound system top notch. Nothing wrong at all with the infotainment system. Happy days really.
  14. Nice one jimmy. Love the tinted windows. As for pairing your contacts. Does your phone pair with the car? I had the same with my car. Took it back to lexus and after an update all is well. One thing I found was that to show a contacts name after receiving a text message their number has to start +44. Enjoy your car.
  15. Thanks for the advice Rayaans. It'll be a half tank on Monday. I had a look and didn't notice any roughness. The gap between the arch and the liner is minute and the best I've seen on any of my cars I've owned. If I remember to I'll remove the liners in the summer and have a look and treat if necessary.
  16. Wow what examples of cars getting knackered after a battery disconnection due to a spike when battery replacement connected. To me that smacks of a totally different problem. A properly working group battery won't spike but a cheapo one may. Yes I suppose a trickle charger is a good friend to some.
  17. Well the gov site shows a manufacturer safety recall as of today's' date. Funny how yesterday it showed it beginning yesterday! I've just phoned my dealer and they said it's the wheel arch thing. A half hour check. As I'm off monday it's going in then but to their credit I'm not fixed to a time. I'm going to look at the arches on my car out of curiosity coz this scenario should never happen nowadays. 70''s Leyland cars yes lol. Thanks for your inputs guys. Much appreciated. I'll report back on this on Monday.
  18. His Paul. Just found that thread. Seems last year a recall was issued about rear wheel arch possible corrosion. That's OK but the gov website stated a date as of yesterday! Thanks for the reply.
  19. Good shout out Rayaans and supported by a good informative photo. I think my seat looks much like that but I'll have a proper look tomorrow.
  20. I've been having a play on the government website checking cars MOT status etc. I put my car details in and was surprised to find that as of today's date that there is an outstanding recall on my car. It's a 64 plate. Anyone else with an is300h similar age had or heard of the same recall? My dealer is getting a phone call tomorrow. No idea what it's about.
  21. Yes Rayaans that''s correct. However I can't see an owner whose rear end is larger than average tolerating sitting in a luxury car and being totally uncomfortable because the seat is too narrow for them. That kind of damage in only 57k miles to me is totally unacceptable and I'd for one take the car back to lexus and complain. The seat in my truck is as new and the foam within is as new. My truck has done over 500k miles. Like I've stated. That car needs to be taken to an upholsterer to be examined then the car with report taken to lexus. Something most definitely not right with that seat.
  22. That bolster should never have collapsed like that. The foam used doesn't collapse. I've misread this thread but now understand. Your picture shows to me that the foam beneath the leather (which looks fine) has split/degraded. I'd take your car to a car upholsterer to get their opinion. How that damage has occurrd is by total misuse. No elderly person could do that. My Dad (bless his soul) drove from new a 1987 metro until 2010 and his drivers seat which had larger than average bolsters (the car was top of the range) had no damage to the bolsters and in his latter years struggled to get in and out of his car. I think the foam has come away from where it''s fixed to and dropped somehow. Get upholstery advice..
  23. If owners of the is300h or any other car as it happens are going to leave their car parked up for a period of time why don't they simply disconnect it? Trickle chargers are a total waste of money. Simply disconnect and reconnect it when ready to use the car again. People have been doing that for decades.
  24. Car looks real good Andrew. The badge colour suits the car colour excellently.
  25. Ah sticking calipers eh! Can't say I've seen anything anywhere about sticking calipers on the 3rd gen IS.
