Yes the BT3 is very similar to the GTA car kit thats seen on YouTube videos. I bought the Yatour system and will be trying it out soon one free Saturday. Removal of the radio/nav unit on the 2nd gen IS required patience because the trim around the radio unit is so easily damaged.

Good idea Texas and common sense too. Eh up Colin. Have you noticed I'm back? -

Yes I'd like to know that. I didn't know diff oil needed to be changed every 25k. Easy enough job me thinks. -
Hi Meedo. How have you got on with introducing Bluetooth to play music? Rich. The Grom BT3 unit. Im assuming you had to get a Y splitter cable to plug into the CD socket at the back of the radio unit?

IS250 - New beginning (bit of an ongoing "project")
Mr Vlad replied to H3XME's topic in Modifications & Tuning
Like what you've done to your car Lucas. That's what McD's car parks are for lol. Whats the reasoning behind changing the oil filler cap? I intend changing the air filter for a gauze type. Love the exhaust. -
Hi Jay. Just read your thread. Oh yes. Wheel nuts. Always torque correctly and check again after 100 miles. Blimey I remember when I worked in a huge warehouse that the fork trucks were always making that noise. Loose wheel nuts. Glad all is well now.

Transmission oil filter
Mr Vlad replied to Zuke's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Hi Zuke. I've not worked at Getrag. I'm in Rochdale now well 2.5 yrs. When you do your trans fluid job may I suggest you put a 250ml bottle of ZX1. Ive been using that for 30 yrs + and before I took my 250 home I put a bottle in the engine oil. Ill probably do a trans fluid job on mine and will definitely put it in mine. -
Well after being away from the Lexus fold for the past 18 months I'm back. My 4th Lexus. This time im in a 07 is250 SE-L which I swapped my diesel mondeo for. The Ford had to go because the diesel market is dying at an alarming rate. To put it in perspective. 6 weeks ago the mondeo was valued at 6.5k. In the past fortnight I've been offered between 4 and 4.5k. Well my 250 was up at 5.5k and a straight swap was made because the vendor saw my car and knew its potential. Anyway I've been looking mainly at RX400h or RX350 but the ones I saw were poor. My 250 yes is a 07 plate but a one owner from new and 78k with full Lexus history. It had to have Nav and ML. Its amazing how many is250's there are out there for sale but very very few with Nav and ML. I struck lucky. Mines Bkack with Ivory leather. Love how it runs. Ive been thinking of the 250 for a number of years but got either hybrids or Fords. I've a couple of questions. 1st is is their a recommended updated Nav disc? If so which is the better and suitable one? 2nd is the drivers seat electrics work but the seat memory doesn't. Passengers side works so I'm wondering if its a faulty bank of switches. Any ideas? I was going to put a Bluetooth adapter box in this 250 but I was very surprised to see it has an aux socket. The ML is outstanding. Just as good as the 14 plate is300h premier premium (that's how lexus dealer described it) I had a few years back. I know about the sticking brake caliper saga with these cars. Mine had new calipers fitted in 2016 20k miles ago. Pads look like new front and rear. I am however going to remove the calipers and de rust them and treat with a rust prevention liquid then paint them gloss black. Ive got Liv-Moly grease for the pins etc. So to anyone who remembers me Hiya and to those that done well you'll be seeing a lot of me. It feels great to be back. Do I miss that superb mondeo? No. Thanks for reading and I hope to get responses and answers soon. The Nav disc really really needs replacing with an up to date one.

Transmission oil filter
Mr Vlad replied to Zuke's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
£97 sounds good to me considering that filter only needs changing at 100k me intervals or 50k miles if you're keen. Plus have you seen the size of it? -
EBAY oils ??
Mr Vlad replied to Zuke's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Hi Zuke. Don't think you'll need 6 litres. I've been researching trans fluid refills for the is250 and believe the actual volume is 7.6 litres. But I believe only 1 maybe 2 litres comes out of the drain plug or taking the bottom housing off. The rest is supposedly in the valves and other gubbings. I'm wondering however if the bottom housing is removed is that where the filter is? I'm thinking of the GS300 or RX350 and an online video showing this. Let us know how you get on because any threads on here ive seen are a good few years old. -
Well I'd suspect the Y cable is wrong. I've seen BT adapters that within the cable with them there is a positive and a negative wire to connect to a 12v supply. I'd suspect that your BT adapter is at fault if you've used 3 different Y cables. You must be a dab hand removing the radio now. Bet you could do it blindfolded.

RX400h Spark Plugs
Mr Vlad replied to Mr Vlad's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Well I've found out that Labour charge inc vat for lexus to change plugs is £300. Not heard back on plug price but genuine Toyota plug set just over £50. From what I've seen online its a pig of a job so I suppose £300 is a fair price. -

Mr Vlad replied to Mauler's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Ah a FM transmitter thing. I'm a truck driver and about 8 years ago I bought one of those FM type transmitters but not a Bluetooth one but a wired one. It worked well but the radio needed re tuning because dependant on where I was that particular radio frequency was taken. Even going from Manchester to Leeds threw up interference from radio stations. OK 8 years is a long time ago technically speaking but I'd imagine similar today. I hope you've found a frequency not being used and you're enjoying streaming music via Bluetooth. -
I'm confused. If you've got the Bluetooth adapter connected the same way as the GTA car kit as on YouTube then how can that interrupt use of the satnav? What confuses me is your statement "the adapter won't work when I use the Y cable with the satnav on it" To me it sounds like you've plugged into the satnav socket in the radio unit? If you've got your Bluetooth adapter wired as the GTA then you shouldn't be experiencing any problems. I can only assume your Bluetooth adapter isn't up to the job. I suggest go on ebay and look for Yatour YTM06-TOY2 unit with YT-TYY cable and for Bluetooth YT-BTM module. OK it may cost about £130 but reviews make it worthwhile. Or for nearly double that the Vaistech SL3-bL. The Grom unit has a connector to the satnav but that's even more expensive.

Weird start-up noise

I've just come across this thread. I'd be interested in any updates as to how things have gone. -
Hi. You state that you can stream music via an ipod through your radio unit. You also say when you connect a Y cable your satnav doesn't work. What socket are you connecting to at the rear of your radio? More to the point how do you manage to stream without the Y cable? Using those Bluetooth units you have they do not connect to the satnav. Their are units that do connect to the satnavs Blue socket but those units are the expensive ones like Grom and Vaistech. I suggest you use the Y connector that should have come with your Bluetooth box. If you didn't get one then ask them for a compatible one. From the rear of the radio disconnect the smaller of the plugs (the 12 pin one in 2 rows of 6). Plug that cable into the respective socket of the Y cable. Plug the Y cable plug into the radio.and then the multiplug into the Bluetooth unit. Satnav will work as normal and you should have Bluetooth and a hardwire connection. Look on YouTube for connecting a GTA car kit to RX400h. Your unit is similar but probably not as good.

RX400h Spark Plugs
Mr Vlad replied to Mr Vlad's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Yes Barry plugs should be changed as you say if looked after by a Lexus dealer but between 2013 and 2019 80k miles to 122k miles no sign of a plug change according to mylexus check. I registered the car im interested in thanks to the dealer giving me the necessary V5 numbers. Ill be phoning Bradford on Monday to confirm either way. I've posted on a motor garage site for a quote to change plugs just to see the price difference if any. -

How you getting on with your 400h Mauler? Have you done anything regarding streaming music? There are a number of units available for Bluetooth and Aux in music streaming and to do both at the £100 all in.
