  1. Hi m8. There are quite a few is250's out there for sale and at really low prices dependant on spec, service history, number of owners etc. You could get an idea of your cars worth by going on we buy any car. Just give a dodgy email address and location. When I got mine just a few weeks ago prices ranged from £1k to 6k. Mines an 07 plate SE-L with full lexus service history and one owner. 5.5k I paid. Good luck in your hunt.
  2. Blimey Steveledzep that stuff you suggested wow what a price 🤣
  3. Wow Stingray (one of my Favourite animated programmes ever) how long did that piece take to make?
  4. Which sockets did you use in the back of the headunit? Does your car have nav and ML? I ask because as I stated I have an unused socket in the back of mine which is the middle one of the bottom row of plugs. That's where I've seen on utube one of the plugs go aswell as a blue one.
  5. You have to agree is sounds ruddy excellent. At the end of the day if someone wants to put body kits on their cars then its up to them. That kit above looks awesome in my opinion. Reminds me of a big kit I put on a Rover 800 Sterling back in the 80's lol
  6. How are you finding the Grom Vline Billnick? Did you self install? Where did you place the box of tricks? I'm contemplating getting either that or the Vaistech. I tried the yatour but it must have been a faulty unit. What I did notice was that in the back of my headunit the socket where the plug goes into is vacant. I have nav and ML and was surprised to find that. Bugger of a headunit to remove, too many block connections on the back.
  7. Wow those VLAND lights look the dogs danglies. Rears are a good price but the headlights are a bit pricey. £750 to do front and back. Worth a think though.
  8. Hi Matty. Are you asking if the rear lights from a gen 3 IS will fit your gen 2? Then the answer is no because the wings etc are a different shape. Gen 2 rear lights look good to me.
  9. Thanks Zuke. Let me know how they did. They're not too far from me and I may try them.
  10. From what I've seen on the tube the engine runs to temperature well the gearbox and then the level is checked when warm/hot. Who's doing the job for you and how much?
  11. Hi Herbie don't think my car has gracenote. Nice one Mike. Excellent thread but blown apart by those pics showing track listing.
  12. wow Mike your pics have really blown this thread apart. Ive started a thread on this subject and a reply suggested I read this thread. So details can show. Maybe it depends on the CD itself.
  13. I don't know if this has been listed on here before so apologies if it has. I played a music CD for the first time in my is250 but what disappointed me was the player didn't recognise any of the track titles. Is that right for a 2007 car with ML? If so is it possible to do something so as to enable track listing?
  14. Hi James and welcome to the best Lexus forum. I'm in my 1st week of owning a is250 and am glad I came across your post. Auto door locking. I didn't know that existed on this car. I'm definitely going to look at that. Fuel consumption on our cars i'd say is ruddy excellent. Its only a couple of mpg down on the 2.2 litre diesel i had prior. The smell of petrol is worrying. Go get it checked out at a reputable garage or even book it in at your nearest lexus dealer. Ive noticed that too regarding the auto box hanging on to 5th gear. Seems normal to me. Enjoy your motor coz i know I love mine.
  15. Thanks for asking Matty. Wow a bottle of guiness and one of raspberryade. Personally speaking it looks like you went down the right road to get the trans fluid changed. So was it a full change or partial? So how much did it end up costing?
  16. Oh I must be living in the past lol. Diff oil or some gear oils were like EP80 or EP90. Nice one Ahmed 👍
  17. I've seen that one Normski found it very useful. I've swapped messages with someone selling replacement rain sensing pad which fits between the sensor and the glass of the windscreen. No such pad was seen when I took my sensor off and that picture showing rain sensing tape throws me as it doesn't show the either glass or plastic sensor plate. I have noticed my sensor plate has scratches on thats why I've bought a working used one. Ill see what happens when I get it and fit it. I'll post results. Cheers pal.
  18. Well I've had a look at the sensor and noticed a light oily coating. Cleaned that off but noticed the sensor within its casing rocked a bit so I cut a piece of card, well a beer mat, and took the sensor out then back in after the card. Solid now. Put it all together and still the same but if I moved the sensor casing either way and by that I mean 1mm or 2 then it worked perfectly. I've ordered a used sensor of ebay so I'll see next week when it arrives. Oh I didn't see a sensor gel pad. Where is that situated?
  19. A spanner in the works coming up and I apologise for the swearing I'm about to say. Ford Mondeo titanium x sport mk4/mk4.5 ecoboost. That car runs the Aisin auto gearbox. Not sure if exactly the same as the one in the is250 but nonetheless. That gearbox oil and filter Must be changed every 37.5k miles or 3 years (which ever the sooner). Mind you in the Ford All the oil comes out. Its an expensive job. £350 it cost me when I had one. Just thought I'd put this in. Food for thought maybe.
  20. No idea if the screen has ever been replaced Normski. Ive yet to have a look at the sensor but I'll try what you suggest about pressing on the shroud. Because its always raining I can't tell if the sensor looks dirty or has what looks like bubbles within.
  21. Ooooops my bad. I forgot to change my car details in my profile. I now have a 2007 plate is250 SE-L. And there isn't a button at the end of the wiper stalk. Ive looked in my handbook and there's no mention of switching from auto to intermittent. Ive seen a couple of videos which point to the sensor on the windscreen. Ill have a look at that when I get the chance. Thanks for your replies guys. 🙂
  22. My car has the auto wipers as opposed to intermittent wipe. All other wiper functions work but the auto rain sensing doesn't. Has anyone had this issue and if so what was the fault? Yes I'll be contacting the place I got it from but I'd like to go genned up.
