  1. Well it goes to show lexus dealers will rip off their customers. I was sent a video of the inspection and yes the nearside rear shock shows signs of moisture on it. Stockport lexus didn't MOT my car co they'd fail it for that moisture. But f**k my tin hat. £320 a side they quoted to supply and fit. Halfords quote 400 all in with i think 1yr warranty. Kwikfit 440 all in with a 2yr warranty. What surprised me was the dealer tech took my car on a wheel alignment gizmo which showed front wheels tracking inwards too much!!!. Well thats a surprise but I'll get it checked at either Halfords or Kwikfit and get them to MOT too.
  2. Thanks m8. At the mo I'm using the aux input to my Samsung s10 lite. Had to buy a Samsung lead to adapt to 3.5mm socket. I'll get the gizmo you've got but I plan to get the Vaistech next year because the default screen on the car is the nav screen.
  3. My car is in Stockport Lexus for a service and MOT. Ive just had a phone call stating one resr shock is leaking so they aren't going to MOT it as it'll fail. Funny as ive not seen any oil leads on the floor where I park. So I ask what shocks have fellow is250 owners used as replacements. Im not going to get genuine at £206 each us fitting from the dealer. Ive seen ones like koni etc for 80 a pair.
  4. Try looking on the websites of the well known tyre and exhaust centres. Use your cars reg number and one of a 2007/8 one (look on autotrader for one) and see if the part numbers are the same for both. Even look to see if there are any pics of the exhausts. Doing this will confirm either way if the 2 systems are the same or not.
  5. Hi Zoricib. Good of you to post what you've done to play music via Bluetooth. I didn't think of using such adapters basically coz I didn't know they existed lol. So I ask when you get into your car which button on your headunit do you press to play the music via Bluetooth and how do you know the Bluetooth connection is made?
  6. Well my car is now in Stockport Lexus for a MOT and intermediate service but with the addition of trans oil change. When I booked the car in and chatted with the guy he had to ask someone. He came back with a price of £20. Yes 20 quid. I said surely not but I booked it. So this evening when at Stockport the guy behind the screen told me its a sealed for life box, as written on the job sheet. I stated its not and that Aisin recommended 50k oil changes. He phoned a tech guy who came back with yes we can do it. I.5hrs and £30 for the oil. I questioned the price of the oil and he confirmed 30 quid for 5 litres. £216 all in to do the oil change. Well I'll see tomorrow what was done. I'm in a UX250h as a loan car. 2.0 litre tho. By eck it shifts lol
  7. Hi Owen and wow what a car you have now 👍. I think you have the grey/silver headunit? I think the only other headunit you can fit is off a 2011/12 car. After that its the 3rd gen. Have you considered taking yours out and wrapping it in any colour you fancy? Ive seen used gen 2 headunits on ebay but at silly prices.
  8. Mmmm interesting. Mk4.5 mondeos suffer that a lot. Cure was to clean a connector from the camera to the loom. Was prone to water ingress. One wonders if this is a problem on other car makes.
  9. Dya know what I wish I thought of that but there you go. From years ago doing lots of car hifi installs and knowing just about everything to do with it to now having the memory of a fish lol. Anyway I've gone from permanent power feed to ignition power feed. Now to learn how to use the thing lol.
  10. Yes fuel filler cap is permanent live. That's what I want. Tho I might change my mind but the unit has an on/off button so its a toss up between pressing a button or an ignition on power feed. Thans again for your replies. The wiring kit is great But the wires a Far Too Long. Feeding the wire so as to be hidden wasn't so easy but I did it.
  11. Thanks guys I finally found them. Im going to use the fuel filler fuse on the passenger side. However these little fuses are swines to get out. Pliers don't work nor does the fuse puller ive got. Boy oh boy frustrating.
  12. I've looked online and on here but I'm still flummoxed as to where the fuse box is on my car. No i don't want the engine compartment but where they are inside the car. Owners manual is useless. It only states its under the panel. What panel? I'm trying to fit a dashcam, nextbase 322gw, I've got the hardwire kit but I'm blowed as to where to tap into the fuse box. Good job I've no hair coz I'd be ripping it out now lol.
  13. is250 no matter what the price. Mine is almost as economical as the 2.2 diesel ford mondeo I had prior. No brained. Diesels are on the way out slowly but surely.
  14. Hi Ross and welcome to the best Lexus owners forum. Look on the homepage and look specifically for the LS section. There you'll find most if not all the info you need. Great car the LS460 you'll Love it in no time.
  15. Does anyone know what colour this wheel is? I've kerbed mine tut tut and am getting them powder coated but I'd like this colour but I don't know what it's called. Thanks.
  16. A new as in brand new? Then you should have at least a 1 year warranty or even 2. But for your car 2 intermediate and 1 20k service adds up to £975. Ive just looked on the Lexus service plan website. So to answer your question. Yes your dealer is ripping you off.
  17. Hello John and welcome to the forum and England. 2nd hand prices for cars have increased because of the situation with this covid 19 rubbish. There seems to be a shortage of good used cars and their is a kind of war between dealers to get the cars. I assume you are a cash buyer then private is your 1st port of call. You stand a better chance of haggling than with a dealer. As for which model Lexus you want service history is most important then number of owners then condition. Trawl the site per model and get all the info you need.
  18. Success. I got a gel for the sensor and fitted it today as per instructions and hey presto auto wipers work as they should. This is the gel pad I bought of the bay. Thanks all for your inputs. Much appreciated 🙂
