  1. Hello Nicholas and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. You're a lucky so n so being able to get a RC350. Obviously you're not in the UK. There's going to be a good few jealous folk on here, me one of them. Enjoy your car. I know damn well I would if I had one (if only the 350 was available here)
  2. Hi Dan and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Just change the pads unless the discs need doing to. Personally I use halfords for brake pads as they are more than reasonable plus you get a lifetime guarantee with them. As for transmission oil servicing theres been quite a bit on that subject here. Unfortunately at lexus garages they only change about 1.4 litres (that was for my is250). There is a place in Chorley I think that changes the lot by syphoning it. Search transmission on the forum and you'll learn just about everything you need to know. Enjoy you GS. Lovely csrs.
  3. Eh up Colin. Yes I've had 2 is300h cars and never noticed what lights were on the back. Strange maybe but the 2nd one I loved no matter what.
  4. I'm with Easy Tiger. Personally speaking cars with only 1 each of rear fog and reverse lights look stupid. I won't have a car with 1 of each. To me its a safety thing. What if the bulb goes without you knowing? You're Stuffed. At least with 2 and one blows you still have 1 and you'll know Straight away one has blown. Well I've known on the past anyway.
  5. Hi Lee. Funny I've just seen this thread. Why funny? Well that Check VSC came up on my display coincidentally whilst I went over a sleeping police man across the road at an asda. Also at the same time my dash cam stopped working. I googled it when it was safe to pull over on how to clear it. When i got home I took the negative lead Off the battery for 15 seconds. Re attached and the fault display disappeared. I checked then the fuse connection on my hard wired dash cam (a nextbase 322gw). All fuses and connections were fine. Connected the dadh cam to my laptop and no joy. I had to reset the dash cam now all is well. I can only assume that whilst going over the sleeping policeman slowly mind something must have dislodged momentarily but enough to stun the dash cam and in turn weirdly the VSC pop up. Hope if you disconnect the neg lead from the battery for 15 seconds all will be well.
  6. Hi James and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Glad you love your is300h. Ive had 2 both Premier and identical in colour and spec but both like chalk and cheese. Hated my 1st one but thats because all my previous cars were manual gearboxes. 2nd one I loved to bits. They're a fabulous car and only got rid for a RX450h (needed the space). I can't comment on the sound system as each of my 4 lexus's have had/got mark levinson systems. I agree about the nav and media system. Its easy to use and the reviews got it all wrong. Enjoy your car. Look after it and it'll look after you.
  7. I ended up getting these ( hope I've done this link copy right lol) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123785174411 They look very robust and well made. Just got to fit them when weather allows
  8. Really Colin? I read a review of the ES300h very soon after its launch and its the only review I've read but it did state the engine was lifted from the is300h. I don't do any disservice to any Lexus car knowingly. So I sit corrected with regards the newer generation of hybrid system and CVT trans. Thanks for the correction 👍
  9. Hi Ian and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. Nice car you have in the ES300h. Yes your car has CVH as the engine etc is lifted from the is300h of which I've had 2. To be honest and I'm surprised by my findings that my is250 is a much nicer car. Must be the V6 and 'proper auto box'
  10. Hi Mike. As for music players I've used Spotify for years. I also use Tune in Radio for Internet radio stations. Your NX should connect via Bluetooth to your Samsung phone and your car should play music and make/receive calls and no leads needed (unless the battery in your phone is caput and always needs charging)
  11. Thanks Mike. It cost £150. Took them all day to do. 3 different levels of wet n dry followed by 3 or 4 compounds with the DA. I trust that place whole heartedly.
  12. Hi fellow Vlad. I'm assuming its the front tyres you mean. Those budget tyres seem very good but there's only a thousand or so miles left on them. But they stick to the road very well. Give very good feedback. Can't fault them not even in the howling rain we have had. Hi Barry I know I look close to the fence but I can walk round the back of the car and when needs be I trim the green stuff well back. Thanks for your comments guys 👍
  13. When I bought my is250 I knew it had one helluva lot of scratches and the paint wasn't looked after by it's previous owner. Oxidation and a myriad of car wash roller brush marks etc etc. I tried in vain with Maguires ultimate compound in a couple areas but to no avail. I contacted a car body shop i used about 5 years ago. Took the car to them where they told me of the faults etc. A stonking good quite to sort the paint finish out. I knew it wouldn't be perfect as a good few scratches were to the primer. Anyway below are a few chosen pose shots taken at 8pm tonight. I have to say I'm blown away by what they did.
  14. Blimey John those Osrams are illegal for road use according to the ad from your link lol. Those you linked Normski well there's only 2 left and I don't fancy waiting for the slow ship from China. I've ordered similar tho and canbus safe. Aluminium casing so shouldn't melt. Thanks again guys
  15. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/202718356337 Don't know if this link works as I've never tried before but is this bulb OK?
  16. Thanks guys. Much appreciated 👍👍
  17. Sorry if this has been covered already but I couldn't find this subject anywhere. I've noticed the sidelight bulb on the 2nd gen IS is rather more than disappointing so I'm going to change mine but to what I don't know. I know its a twist out from the top inside of the headlight and that's its like a spade fit. What upgrade bulb is available as the ones I've seen on ebay are for the 3rd gen. All advice welcome.
  18. Hi Don and welcome to the best Lexus forum there is. You've got yourself a superb car. I've had mine since 1st July and its a corker. Look after it and it'll look after you for many many years. Silky smooth ride. Fast and quick enough. Surprisingly good on fuel. Because its new to you I suggest book it in at your nearest Lexus dealer for an inspection and service. I did with mine and glad I did as one of the rear shockers in their words was leaking and they wouldn't MOT it because they'd fail it. None the less I had the rear pair replaced with original lexus shockers at my local Halfords. Enjoy your beaut of a car. 👍
  19. Isn't it amazing how one can get fooled by 'rumbling ' noises and from where they're coming from. Well done Emran on getting to the bottom of your issue and for sharing your conclusive fix. 👍
  20. It takes a damn sight more than 4k mes to run an engine in Fusspot. More like 40k miles. The Golf GTi of just a few years back its engine was run in at 120k miles. Yes 120 Thousand miles. I'd say your mpg has improved because you have learned how to drive your car properly. In the 3 hybrid lexus cars ive had i could control the economy easily by how i drove it. Best in is300h was 58mpg worst was 33. RX450h best was 47mpg worst 22. As a comparison to none hybrid my is250 in the short time I've had it so far worst is 25mpg and best is an amazing 40mpg. As Zotto has stated. Hybrids work better in warmer weather than in colder. Enjoy your UX as you probably have the best hybrid.
  21. Wow. Quite a different choice. Enjoy your new car when you get it 👍
  22. Thought I'd put my 2 penneth in. UX Courtecy car. I had one for a day when my is250 went in for its service. Lovely interior and spec. Don't know which spec it was but it did have adaptive cruise nav Park sensors front n back camera DAB bluetooth streaming etc. OK it took me a minute to connect my phone lol. Anyway the car drove sublime. I was really surprised how quick it was. And yes I went passed the detant on the loud pedal 😉. The handling was excellent and I really enjoyed the car. I was disappointed with the size of the boot But apparently it can be almost doubled if the carpet and tray gubbins removed. Rear legroom didn't bother me but a review I saw on utube by a 6 foot 2 guy said its good as he sat behind the drivers seat with the seat at his setting. When I took the car back the guy asked if I'd like to know how I did in it as it had telematics. Oh pooh I thought. (Yes I drove it like I stole it 🤪) I did 40 miles. Average mpg of 48 and time on battery alone was 52% of the time. Wow I thought. Then I recalled on the motorway doing 70 that the engine wasn't running but I was on battery power. I was told the UX has a bigger battery and newest generation set up. I've had is300h and RX450h and to me the UX250h rocks. If a time came i had the money I'd get one like a shot. Oh and as for comparing to other brands of cars. Like an old friend of mine said when I told him of my latest car is250. You've got the bug he said. Oh yes I've got the Lexus bug. Lexus cars are simply the best looking cars out there. Superb back up if needed and reliability 2nd to none. To those of you who have the UX250h I doff my cap to you.
