  1. Hi Texas. Either the f sport or the SE-L with the full service history. I've had my SE-L since July. I was lucky. 1 owner from new. Full lexus history. I paid top price for it at 5.5k with 76k miles on it. I bought it whilst the car was in limbo time MOT wise. I booked it in at lexus Stockport and they informed me that the rear shockers were leaking. The dealer ignored my request that he pay for new shox. Anyway I didn't care cos the car is superb. Mark Levinson in mine anyway is the best ML system I've had in my previous 3 lexus cars (2x is300h premier and a few sport RX450h). Either of the 2 i suggest and you'll love either.
  2. Hi Gavin. Some Fleet you have. With regards to looking at either a GS or RX. They're like chalk and cheese. Both great cars. Which engine though would you be looking at? What age of car too and how much you're willing to spend?
  3. Well personally I'm wondering how Bob got on with his tyre issue. Half a year has passed since he posted his issue. He must of got put off by the replies, most of which were (to me) rubbish. I've liked 2 posts and they were the only ones that made sense. It makes me laugh reading things about tyre choice. For the last 25 years (except for my last ford) I've o ly ever put part warn tyres on. Matching pairs. My is250 has so called cheap tyres on but have no detrimental issues in handling either in wet or dry conditions. And believe me I push tyres. If you're still here Bob how did you get on?
  4. Sounds like you are lol. Maybe look in your handbook or disconnect your phone from your car and reconnect it.
  5. The gearbox is a proper auto. There are a few threads on here regarding servicing the auto box and engine. The car you're looking at shouldn't need its gearbox oil serviced for about another 40 or 50k miles. Engine oil is done yearly if a dealer service is done yearly (lexus plans are very competitively priced, look up essential service plans on lexus website). The only real bugbear about the is250 are the brake caliper slide pins (plenty about that on here too. Look in the gen 2 IS section). Which model is the car you're looking at? Does it have satnav, rear parking camera, Mark Levinson sound system? If not the most definitely the car is massively over priced. 6.5k tops. If the car is SE-L then as I said 8.5k tops.
  6. Hi Stevie. On your car as well as making and receiving phone calls using your cars Bluetooth can you stream music from your phone also? With your car being a 2010 I'm not sure. I had a 2012 and could. If you can stream music then I'd say the Echo Auto should work. If it doesn't then at least you can send it back for a refund.
  7. Hi Yusuf and welcome to the best Lexus forum. Yes I'd say 10k is rather high for that car. Possibly 8 to 8.5k tops. I paid top price for my car. 2007 is250 SE-L 76k miles one owner from new and full Lexus service history. I paid 5.5k. If you really like the car you should offer 8.5k. 9k if they offer a 1 year warranty. If they say no then walk away. There are quite a few is250 cars for sale out there. I know you'll find a suitable one. For sure once you do you will soon fall in love with it and use it yourself. They are a superb car. Good luck with your search.
  8. Blimey. Since you're still waiting why not use a cable from your pone to an AUX socket and use that to play Planet Rock. No need to use Bluetooth. Download their app or better still Tunein Radio app.
  9. Hi m8. I don't see how coolant has ingressed into the gearbox. Look on YouTube as there are a few videos how to change gearbox oil in your car. I have a question. Is your 430 a CVT or a proper auto box?
  10. As Herbie stated above. Mmmmm that pic reminds me of the ones I had a few years back. Superb cars.
  11. Hi Pahino. Excellent thread you started. Glad to learn you have sorted issues you've had with your car. Mind you after 370 thousand km there's bound to be issues. I look forward to viewing your progress with your car. Good luck with what you do.
  12. Personally I'd remove the tow bar. Simple enough a job. Does your car have a reverse camera? I'm going to assume not. Perhaps look at getting one fitted. It'll save more bashings of your bumper.
  13. Thanks Declan. What size crush washers are needed on the banjo joints? This is a job I fancy doing as I've experienced very bad oil pressure feed back because of a blocked oil breather and this sounds reasonably easy preventative maintenance.
  14. I was charged £136 to replace about 1.5 litres of gearbox oil by Stockport Lexus. Someone on here found a gearbox place in Chorley i think who is very conversant in Lexus. A Full gearbox oil change was done by vacuuming the oil out and putting new in. Where on this forum I can't remember. I've mentioned this before. Our gearboxes are made by Aisin. The auto box in the Ford Mondeo 2.0 ecoboost is Aisin also. However Ford recommend the oil be changed every 47k miles or 4 or 4 years which ever is the sooner. Cost of that job circa £500. The oil alone was £350. To me no matter how complicated complex etc etc a gearbox is its lubrication needs renewing at a period of time purely because of the work the oil does. Hey our engine oil gets changed every year. Me? I'll get my gearbox oil partially changed yearly. Next year when service is due the diff oil is going to get changed.
  15. Out of interest. How many of these filters are there? Are they located one on each cylinder head maybe rocker cover and are at an angle? I noticed a couple of banjo connections at the top end of the engine block when I had the covers off a few times doing my side lights. Just so happens I bought a new PCV from lexus and Intend to fit when time/weather allows so I'm thinking of taking those filters out and clean them.
  16. I knew when I bought my is250 about the myriad of scratches on my car but I also knew where I'd be taking it. Years ago when I had a ford focus I had damage to a rear wing panel. I took it to a couple of car body outfits I knew and used before but their quotes were really high. So off to see Mr Google to see who was where. Found 2 near where I worked and visited them. 1st one was reasonably OK 2nd one I was impressed and after reading reviews and a quote of 200 quid to basically paint one quarter of my car plus to colour code it too. They use a camera which is connected to a computer and a perfect match of paint is made. When I picked that car up I was blown away by the quality. Anyway to my is250. £150 to to get rid of 95% of the scratches. Mega polish etc etc. They had it a full day. Result? Outstanding. Yes there is a few deep scratches but I can live with them. What I'm saying is Google car body repair places. Visit them. See if they have the paint camera because they're ruddy expensive so no back street garage will fork out. Only good ones. Read reviews. Look up a thread of mine. Not bad for 13yr old paint. Photos attached there.
  17. I'd take them out first to see what is there. Even take a photo or 2. Then search for the 2010 ones and see if they are same or not (plug connectors i mean).
  18. Update again lol. Satnav screen up now. Happy bunny (makes a change lol). Weird how one thing upsets something totally unrelated which proves everything in our cars are related and can screw thing up you wouldn't suspect.
  19. Update. I feel absolutely stupid lol. I forgot the plug that goes onto the air inlet pipe was off (I was going to take the airbox and pipe off to do drivers side bulb but found i didn't need to). Car runs sweet. I disconnected the battery again to put the LED bulbs in. All works well except my radio display now is on a repeat initialization. Its lashing outside now so ill wait to sort the radio display. Audio and climate display work. I'll take the nav CD out and put back in. Its an up to date copy one but a good one. Thanks again for your replies guys 👍
  20. Thanks for your replies but as for polarity the bulbs worked. I've gone back to standard bulbs and disconnected the battery for a minute but alas VSC is on and the engine orange light. Car runs ruddy awful so off to a garage to see if they've got a code reader.
  21. Oh. That's a shame. Thanks for your reply Bogdan. I'll wait till next year to get the vaistech unit.
  22. Well an update. Yesterday I finally got round to fitting the new sidelight bulbs. Driver side went ok. Passenger side wow what a squeeze because of the wiring loom to get the cover off and back on. Anyway I got them fitted and WOW what a difference. Wish I started the car then because come this morning oh no car would've start on first try. It started on the second but the dreaded Check VSC came on. Really disheartened me. When I get back home I'm going to try the disconnect battery for 30 seconds and see if that resets etc. If that fails then back to standard bulbs and find another set. What gets me is that the bulbs I got clearly stated canbus safe etc etc. Why make cars so touchy to small mods.
