IS250 discs and pads
Mr Vlad replied to Razor61's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
Blimey Linas I know about your experience with Halfords. Yes it depends on who runs the gaf and the staff. My local one is a better. They're all in to cars and all have old cars modded up. Yes Razor its a preferential thing where you buy your parts from. -
IS250 discs and pads
Mr Vlad replied to Razor61's topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club
How come you didn't try Halfords? Just looked and vented discs with pads just over £80. Brand Pagid which I had on a Ford mondeo titanium x sport (flying machine compared to the is250) plus lifetime guarantee. There's too much negatively about Halfords but I've been using them 30 years no issues. -
Reverse lights

I was going to say just the same as Linas in that getting a motion detection outside light fitted. Very good security tool plus you'll see any obstacles. -
Reverse lights

I'm confused about you having L shaped reversing lights. Has your car got aftermarket rear lights like the Vland? I find my reversing lights are quite good in the dark. Have you tried reversing into your drive when its lighter outside? It'll be easier when its dark to drive out. -
Hi Steve. I've had 2 is300h and a RX450h and now the most superb is250. As far as comfort goes to me there's no difference between the cars I've had except for one thing. The RX is superb to get in and out of because of it being taller. Handling of the RX was rather good and way better than the anti lexus reviews of the car. Not sure if 2.5k can get a RX400h or a RX300 but it'll get you a decent is250. I can't comment on the is200 or is300 except the 200 looks lovely. Happy hunting for your car.

wipers working intermittently

I tip my cap to you Jason. Your thread will no doubt be a great help to others. Well done 👍 -
Don't think the engine noise was coming from the speakers (always had the ML loud lol)

wipers working intermittently
Mr Vlad replied to Jayw13702's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Hi Jason. I've just come across your thread. Very involved what you've done. I have to ask but do you have rain sensing wipers? I had the exact same problem. My wipers wouldn't come on on intermittent but only on constant. My problem was the rubbery plasticy sheet between the windscreen and the sensor behind the rear view mirror. My car didn't have that sheet. Once one was bought and fitted my problem was cured. I did a thread on it in the gen 2 is. -
This thread has got my head thinking. I'm pretty damn sure I redlined my is300h when I had it. From a standing start with the switch set to power and traction battery at least on half and foot buried into the carpet. This by the way on a motorway slip road. Every day on the way home from work I'd rag it from those traffic lights and I'm certain I hit 6k revs. Made a lovely noise lol (not as good as my is250 tho 😗)

Hi DC. I've just come across your thread. I've looked up the cellllink neo only to find its a battery for a dashcam. One question. What dashcam are you using? Why does it need a battery? I'm a bit flummoxed because I fitted the Nextbase 322gw which is forwarded facing and has a rear facing camera attached to it. Both give superb quality video. I also got the hardwire kit. I looked in my handbook to see which fuse I could use either for constant power or for power to be turned on and off via ignition. I can't understand also why such a high fuse rating of 15 amp is required when my nextbase is only 2 amp. Please enlighten me.

Hi Benjamin and welcome to the UK and to the forum. I have a 2007 SE-L and my car doesn't have auto locking. What you said about holding the button down for 5 seconds I've not heard about. All I do is press the button after I've started my car. My car doesn't beep either when I lock or unlock my car but I do have keyless entry so I don't use the fob button. I'll get a beep if I've not say put it in park when I shut the engine. Gen 5 nav? On a 2006 SE-L ? Its not a map download but a CD which can be got from ebay but the latest edition is i believe 2010. My nav always comes up I Agree which I think is standard.

Acquired Taste!

Yeah I've seen quite a few of those aftermarket headlights but I don't like any of them. Original ones of a 10 or 11 plate 2nd gen is250 which a number of them have the built-in drl's. Thanks for the link anyway. -

Yeah those headlights were a great find to those who fitted them. I've been looking since I got mine to no avail. -
Hi Razor. I'm surprised any Lexus dealer told you the cars history when you stated you are looking to buy it. When I phoned Lexus about the car I now have they said point blank they don't give info to a prospective buyer. I left it a couple of days and tried again stating that I now had the car. All my questions were answered. If you go on the Lexus website to register your car part of the registration is to prove the car is yours. There's a number on the logbook which is needed. Once registered all the servicing and repairs when done at Lexus is there to see. I've travelled far and wide to get the cars I've had. I've known within seconds if I'm having it. I've walked away a few times after letting my thoughts be known. Good luck in your hunt.

That car has been wrapped not painted. Wrapping is getting popular but even with today's technology wrapping only lasts about 5 years. Looking at that car the finish looks unkept and I reckon its a couple years old or more. Yeah if the colour covered the shuts then maybe its worth a look but its not my bag. I know what you mean Texas. Every time opening especially the rear door would drive me nuts lol. -

Hi Stew its been a while. How you getting on with your search for a is350? There's one on ebay now at a very reasonable price which is tempting. -
I'm sorry to have to disagree with Linas on 2 issues. The satnav is actually quite good so longs as you have the latest CD which if memory serves is 2010 (I'm expecting to be corrected lol). As to the reverse camera it has very good resolution well mine does anyway and is as good as any reverse camera I've had on the cars which have had it on and that includes 2 64 plate is300h premiers and a 62 plate f sport RX450h. Sorry Linas I usually agree with 100% of what you say.
