  1. Lexus refer to the plastic battery enclosure as an "Insulator". Part number is: 28899-31020 The part number 74433D in John's diagram sits in the battery tray underneath the battery and not on top of the battery as you might expect from looking at the diagram. I believe all IS250 models would have been fitted with the enclosure as standard from the factory.
  2. Strange. The jubilee clips worked fine for me. You can open them up and slip them through without a problem. Given that they are only securing the heat shield they are not required to be any way substantial.
  3. Hi John, I had this problem when I purchased my car nearly four years ago. A simple solution is to use jubilee clips, preferably the stainless steel variety. This is what I did and everything has been fine since. Have a look at the ScrewFix website and you will find a large selection. You should be able to get a pack of ten for £10 - £15. Given the way the original clamps rusted I would'nt be inclined to use them as replacements. Dec.
  4. Hi Malcolm, Your summary is spot on. Lexus used to sell a tailored boot carpet for the ISC ( in black only I beleive ) so you might check with your dealer if these are still available. I sourced mine from eBay but I guess that was just a bit of luck and it was over three years ago. I don't beleive any UK cars were supplied with the space saver but I do recall reading of one owner who ordered the US spec moulded tray from his local Lexus dealer in order to accomadate the spce saver. From memory I think it took some time to arrive and was quite expensive for a chunk of moulded polystyrene but it sorrted his problem. Len, Malcolm is talking about the IS250 convertible which unlike the saloon, did not come with a space saver spare wheel. Which reminds me that the moulded tray from the saloon will not fit the wheel well in the convertible. That would be too easy. Nothing in life is straightforward!! Dec.
  5. Hi Malcolm, Yes, the space saver from a normal IS250 will fit the ISC. These are 17" but will work perfectly OK with the 18" wheels on your car. US spec cars apparently all came with the space saver fitted as standard so there is plenty of room in the wheel well. However, the moulded tray fitted to European cars is designed to store the compressor and will not accomadate a space saver wheel. What I have done is discarded the tray and fitted the space saver to the empty well with the bolt and wingnut as used in the standard IS250. The next problem is that the folding cover for the well will not fit as it is designed to sit in the moulded tray. I simply fashioned a new cover from some 6mm MDF and covered this with a Lexus ISC specific boot carpet mat. You can opt to modify the moulded tray but I chose not to go this route in case I needed to return the car to original when the time comes to sell. Hope this helps and welcome to the Club. Dec.
  6. Hi Alex, I had another look and you are correct in that the earlier type sensor also uses a retainer bracket. Don't know how I missed it when I first had a quick look. Just be aware that the two central rear sensors use a differant sensor and retainer to the other four on the car. Best of luck with it. Dec.
  7. Hi Alex, If you go to https://www.megazip.net/ and put your VIN number in you will get the parts diagrams which may be of help. I had a quick look at the parts for my car ( 2009 IS convertible) and I see that there is a change of TPMS sensors for the later models - 2011 onwards. The later sensors do use a seperate retainer while those fitted to the earlier cars do not. Just note that the diagrams for the TPMS system are seperate to those for the bumpers themselves. Hope this helps. Dec.
  8. Hi John, The weatherstrip on the roof panel over the driver's door would appear to be part No. 62363-53010 and will probably cost in the region of £50 based on an Ex-Japan price of $30. Fitting should be straightforward. Double check the part number with Lexus to confirm that this is the part required. Hope this helps, Dec.
  9. I have one with my 2015 NX. I keep it in my wallet and have simply stopped using the key fobs. Dec.
  10. Road tax for the NX300h is €280 annually. As you are changing your place of residence to Ireland you should not have to pay any VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax). There is a Lexus dealeer in Cork and I have found tem very efficient any time I have had cause to use them. Parts prices are in general within 10% to 15% of what you would expect to pay in the UK. Hope this helps, Dec.
  11. Delighted to be of some help. Hope you are on the mend and can enjoy your car for what is left of the summer. Dec.
  12. Check the master switch on the driver's door switch panel. It may have been switched on (depressed) accidentally and this will disable all window operations other that the driver's window. Windows will continue to operate normally during roof operation. Dec.
  13. Does the light blink for approximately one minute before coming on permanently? If so, the problem is with the TPMS system and not the tyre pressures. Given the age of your car I would suspect failing sensor batteries. The condition of the individual batteries can be checked using Toyota Techstream. Dec.
  14. Great video. I had a similar issue some years ago on my previous IS250 and had great difficulty trying to locate the source. Eventually I narrowed it down to the RH lower droplink mounting. This was tight but just not tight enough and could move slightly the lower arm under severe suspension shocks. The torque setting for this mounting is 84Nm which is indeed quite high. Might be worth a look. Dec.
  15. I have used the following product in an IS250 in the past with great success - would be worth a try. https://www.wynns.uk.com/product/hydraulic-valve-lifter-concentrate/
  16. I have not done diff oil do you think its worth doing? Definately worth doing. It's easy to do and not expensive. From memory I think the recomended change interval is 40K miles so you are probably well due!!
  17. +1 on the power pack. You might also double check that the manual key is working as it should as sometimes the locks can seize from lack of use. You don't want to find yourself completely locked out of the car! Dec.
  18. Wedge a small piece of rubber or some other flexible material between the top of the dashboard and the centre point of the windscreen and see if this helps. There is a known issue with some of the dashboard fixings.
  19. Hi Andy, Left and right have different part numbers, though I believe the only difference is the position of the sticker on the cylinder and the units themselves are interchangeable. Part numbers are as follows but I would strongly advuse that you double check with your Lexus dealer: RH: 64530-53032 LH: 64540-53012 Hope this helps, Dec.
  20. + 1 on the CPS failure. If the rev counter does not show any movement when you turn the engine over this would further indicate a failur of the CPS.
  21. Hi Barry, From what you say it sounds like your main problem is with the rear window section. As in the video, if you partially open the roof the two fixing bars which the roof mechanism latch on to will be visible at the uppermost part of the window section. Simply wrap a few inches of tape tightly around these bars, - I would try two inches or so of tape - close the roof and test drive to see if there is any improvement. Certainly worked for me. Best of luck. Dec.
  22. This is a fairly common issue. Have a look at this video, it has helped to sort the problem for many people. Hope this helps. Dec.
  23. Original fitment is Toyota Pink long life coolant. Be carefull where you purchase as with nearly eyerything you can buy on the internet there is a lot of fake copy product out there. Your local Toyota/Lexus dealer is your best source for peace of mind.
