Hi Grant, I have fitted one of these discs ( 2017/2018) to my 2006 IS250 and it works perfectly. The first disc that the supplier shipped to me got lost in the post so he replaced it for me. A few months later the original disc turned up so if you would like it just PM me your details and I will stick it in the post to you. Dec.

Torque figure for the oil pan drain bolt is 40Nm and as Dave said 25Nm (18 ft lbs ) for the filter housing. Dec.

To check for an air leak you can LIGHTLY spray something like brake cleaner around the parts of the inlet manifold that supply the offending bank while the engine is ticking over. Pay particular attention to any joints or pipe/hose connection points. If there is a noticeable change in engine speed at any point you may have found the leak. Go lightly and methodically. Enjoy! Hi Alan, Is it P2157 as in today's post or code P2197 as in a previous post? P2157 is fuel injector related and opens a new can of worms. If it is P2197 then I would check very carefully around the inlet manifold to ensure that there is no air leak. Both the upstream sensors (Sensor 1) on bank one and bank two are the same so it may be possible for you to switch them over and see if the fault code changes bank. If it does this would indicate that the upstream sensor is at fault. I imagine that the downstream sensor is throwing a code as a result of your primary problem. Lexuspartsdirect.co.uk list the air/fuel ratio sensor at £170 but I'm sure Rockauto would come in with a Denso sensor at a much more reasonable price. Dec.

Can any ISC owners who have fitted the Lexus original windbreaker tell me is if it worth buying. I have only recently acquired the car and would like to know if fitting the wind deflector would make any significant difference given that they are expensive to buy. I have always had wind deflectors on previous cars but it seems to me that the ISC is much better in the wind turbulence dept. Any advice greatly appreciated. Dec.

Alternator seems good. Yuasa bought out the Panasonic lead acid battery business some years ago so I'm not sure if Panasonic branded automotive batteries are still available. Yuasa specify a choice of two batteries for the IS250, Models YBX3030 and YBX7030. As far as I can tell the 7030 model is virtually identical to the original fit Panasonic battery but comes at a price -- recommended retail in the UK of circa £250. I replaced mine with one I purchased on Aliexpress.com. I am unable to post a link to the item but if you enter "Lexus IS250 LCD Screen" in the search box , several sellers come up. I bought mine from New Vision Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. for $128.00. I did this following a recommendation on one of the US sites. Eighteen months on all is still working perfectly. When I changed my plugs I bought the gaskets from My Lexus dealer. From memory they were not expensive and you are guaranteed a perfect fit. My only problem was a broken release clip for one of the coil connections. They do become brittle with age and break rather easily. Not the end of the world but annoying at the same time. All in all a very satisfying afternoon's work. Enjoy.

Radio interference

Had a similar problem with radio interference on my 2006 IS250 with ML system. Sorted it by removing and cleaning up my battery connections. Might be worth a try, it was an easy fix for me. Dec. -
Low mileage

I did a coolant change on mine without any issues. The rad drain plug is very easy to get at from above and this alone will drain a significant amount of coolant. I did manage to locate one of the engine block drain plugs ( driver's side ) and with this I think I managed to drain about 8 litres. I do have the advantage of having a pit in my garage so this made the search for the engine drain plugs somewhat easier ! Re-filling was straightforward and I didn't have any issues with airlocks. Lexus/Toyota "pink" coolant (as opposed to the more commonly used and cheaper "red" version) is the one to use. Enjoy, Dec. -
If you disconnect the MAF the ECU will default to a predetermined "average" setting. Drive the car and see if there is any improvement. If there is, this points to your MAF being faulty or dirty. If there is no improvement in the way the car drives you can rule out the MAF. Hope this helps. Dec.
