  1. Do you have a wifi router close to the wall where toe cars a re parked next to at all? It could be that a certain wifi channel is interfering with your remotes then when you switched everything off and back on the wifi router has now changed to a different channel?
  2. Without pointing the finger at where the people that are pinching these cats and selling them on come from it is not surprising at all that this type of crime is almost unheard off up here in the North East. The thing we had up here was a gang going around stealing Range Rovers .... and if the owners had as much trouble with theirs as I did with mine they would have glad to get rid of it and claim off the insurance 😉
  3. David Silver also obtained parts directly from the USA, Japan etc at cheap prices, like the alternator on the ST1100 I used to own, until the EU stopped him and said he had to obtain the parts from the EU only which put meant the price of a new alternator (common problem) more than doubled.
  4. I bought one from Halfords myself for 2.0l and used it once on mine because I had not realised you needed to do a weekly hour with the system at Ready rather than just a 4 mile run around the block with a downhill section .. that was enough to keep the main battery up to charge but not the 12V one. It worked perfectly and I used the under bonnet connections to start it up... I now keep this in the door pocket just in case.
  5. My route to and from work and home is on motorway with a stretch each way that goes from two lanes to three uphill both ways ... i usually take things steady until reach these uphill 3 lanes then have a bit of fun accelerating up the hill... ...all I can say is it is not sluggish in the least and can quickly go from 50mph to ... err... let's just say license loosing speed ... uphill.
  6. Those tools in the pouch in mine definitely look like they have never been used before.
  7. Just had a look at what is there in my 2011 and there is a small toolkit (unbranded) in a pouch in a little compartment next to the wheel nut socket under the floor behind the left passenger seat in the boot.
  8. Would you like to put a video on of changing the rear wiper on a Gen3? I always change the front ones myself but the rear one i got a garage to do it when it was getting a service.. it is buried up just below the spoiler.
  9. Will this do to replace them? https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-ux/lexus-ux-2018-present/lexus-ux-exterior-interior/lexus-trim-push-clip/ I got a few cheaper than these from the Toyota side of the RMB Teesside dealership.
  10. Cant do full post codes?? Mine definitely does full post codes and is a lot quicker to reroute you if you take a wrong turn then the TomTom I used to have before getting the Lexus. For tow bars for the Gen3 there are plenty that do them (PFJones, etc) for around £350 to £500 but not for the Gen4.
  11. That was two year ago... if you want an up-to-date price from them give them a ring to compare with those near you. https://www.rmbauto.co.uk/lexus/ They did not tell me about the Hybrid check until I got there and asked if I wanted it doing free of charge if I was not in a hurry.. the upgrade itself was over 2 hours so I just said to ge ahead, put my mind at rest after just buying the car anyway. I have used RMB since for work and parts and always been friendly and reasonable.. they have their own Toyota dealership next-door with a shared parts department.
  12. If your SatNav is the same as my 2011 (USB) then I upgraded mine when I bought my car at the end of 2017 taking it from the original 2011 maps/software to the 2017 ones. It took around 2 and half to 3 hours including a free Hybrid check and cost £160 from RMB Teesside. There has been mention of dealers in the south charging over £300 for it though so pick your dealer wisely.
  13. The Lexus RX450h Gen3 has a towing capacity of 2000kg but i have been told the the Gen4 version depends of which trim level as to if you can get a tow bar for it. PFJones only have them up to 2016 and when I asked at a caravan show over a year ago they had details of the base levels could not tow but the top range could... although don't know why as I would have thought they were all the same apart from levels of trim.
  14. If its the same as my 2011 then it cost around £160 around two and a half years ago taking it from the 2011 Maps, etc to the 2017. Not sure if there is a later one now than that. Mine was a USB upgrade done by the dealer, takes around 2 to 3 hours but that included a free Hybrid Check and car wash. Unlike some on here, I prefer the built in SatNav in the car that the TomTom I had before as it is a bigger screen and the TomTom developed a fault in that it kept loosing the links to the GPS satellites for long periods of time. Luckily it found them again just before important turns for my holiday at the time. It went into the bin when I got home and I bought the Lexus just after that anyway.
  15. Its probably your car shaking with the shame of it being forced to go to McDonald's
  16. Does anyone remember the old Citroen BX with its composite bonnet and plastic wings? I wonder why manufacturers did not continue with something like that to help prevent rust due to stone chips?
  17. From what I remember of cars from those days a lot of cars did not require anything to "introduce" rust to them, they had it built in from new, especially anything from Fiat or from Japan (Datsun 120Y)… and Triumph (my old TR7)
  18. Maybe we need to employ a little man that can run in front of the car with a fly swot to swot away any stones that dares to come near our Lexus cars? Just like they used to walk in front of the cars with red flags. 😄 That actually takes me back to the Landyzone membership where, if any one asked about a problem with a Range Rover, you were told to get your butler to fix it. The Discovery was expectedly called the Disco The Landrover series was called Tractors The Evogue was called the Ewok The Freelander was called the Gaylander
  19. You should see the LandyZone, seems like hundreds of posts a day asking advice on how to fix problems with the vehicles, breakdowns etc. I went from the Range Rover to a Hyundai Tucson then this Lexus and the difference in the forums was an eye opener, from major faults and repairs on the Range Rover through not much happing on the Hyundai owners to this one where most seem to be very minor faults on older vehicles to "stone chips"
  20. I was another that used to have one of those, in white too. It used to be my most unreliable car yet … until I bought a Range Rover a couple of cars ago. The 820 was an auto and whoever designed the engine layout wanted shooting, start motor, alternator all buried .. gearbox crap and needed replacing. The 2.0l engine they put in the 620 was far better layout, but it was a Honda engine rather than a Rover one (say no more) The only good thing about the white Rover 820 was if you were in a hurry you put the headlights on and people seemed to move out of the way for you.
  21. My 2011 RX450h has averaged 29 mpg since getting around two and half years ago in mixed driving (the power is too tempting at times) On the motorway it depends on the traffic and my driving, I have had it regularly up to around 38 average when travelling long journeys for holidays and taking it steady and once got a 15 mile trip to work at 47mpg following a lorry up the motorway to work at around 55mph.
  22. I had my 2011 RX450h upgraded by the dealer, it is done via the USB port in the centre armrest cubby hole. It was upgraded just after I bought it in Oct 2017 and cost £160 from RMB Teesside Lexus Dealer but I have heard on here some dealers charging a lot more. It took around two and a half hours including a Hybrid System check (free) and wash. It was upgraded from the original 2011 maps/ software to the 2017 one, not sure if there is a later upgrade they can do from there.
  23. If we are producing that much electricity that we can't use it then why is the UK having to import around 6% of our electricity from France and Holland?
  24. I am insured through Bell insurance which is part of Admiral group. I pay around £450 for a year and have just had my renewal for this year starting beginning of May .. it's gone up by 13p for the year. Also had the email from Bell insurance saying they are giving me the £25 refund as part of the Admiral group decision.
