  1. I had to replace a rear spring (left side) that had snapped on my 2011 RX450h just earlier this year but also had to do the same on a Hyundai Tucson I had before that (the Lexus spring was over 4 times the price to buy.
  2. Only certain models had air suspension, my 2011 SE-I definitely did not.
  3. The problem with a sealant rather than a spare tyre is it depends on the sort of puncture you get. Its OK if its a nail/screw in the tyre but not if its a bigger tyre blowout. When i had the motorbike I had a sealant permanently in the tyres which helped when I had a puncture to stop safely under control on a motorway but you are then left with still having to call assistance rather than on a car with a spare wheel being able to change it yourself.
  4. I would go for whichever one is black .. but then I am biased being on my second black RX450h 😀
  5. It did when I did it around 17 years ago, I think they still do it for car and bike tests. I rode bile for around 12 year, starting out learning on this Yamaha Then after passing test in two months moved to the Honda NT650 Deauville After another year moved on to the Honda ST1100 Pan European (ex Police) until selling it and giving up riding due to knee problems.
  6. If it happens again you can get an app for your Android phone called WiFi Analyser that will show you the channel and strength of WiFi signals where you are.. ... have a look at the signals when causing the problem then change the channel on your WiFi router and have another look at the Analyser and see if your fobs work then.
  7. Probably a lot cheaper to sell the RHD one and buy a LHD one
  8. Is there a big jump in the insurance groups of your old Volvo and the newer Lexus you are getting? I have just changed mine from a 2011 RX450h to a 2017 RX450h which is around 3 times the value but no change at all to the premiums (I pay monthly)
  9. I had my 2011 RX450h for nearly three years, the only thing going wrong was a rear spring snapped. Luckily the dealer managed to cut the siezed bottom bolt without damaging the bush. The only reason I have just changed my car was the dealer had a 2017 RX450h Luxury there that took my fancy.
  10. Actually, no I did not consider the NX. I prefer the size of the RX for all my camping equipment... and the engine in the RX to enjoy when wanted. I used to average around 29mpg in my 2011 RX450h but did not hang around in it .. got around 38mpg on longer journeys and once got 47mpg on a 17 mile run into work drafting a lorry up the motorway. So far since last night have averaged 33mpg in this 2017 so pleased with that.
  11. Thanks, it does look good and first registration was March 2017 so still the lower tax amount of £115 a year. Was also surprised that there was no difference at all for my insurance even though this is around 3 times the value.
  12. Well the deed has been done said goodbye to my 2011 Rx450h Se-I and then hello to my new 2017 RX450h Luxury First Impressions of it are very good apart from I preferred the mirrors of the old one.
  13. I have just collected my 2017 RX450h Luxury last night and was wondering the same thing for winter time. On my 2011 I had All season tyres fitted for all year round and was wondering about the Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905 as to if it was suitable for all year around. Does anyone know how much of a difference these would have for wear rate if used all year around against the summer tyres?
  14. That is within the limits, they are allowed to read up to 10% over but not under. The only vehicle I have had that the speedo was accurate was a Honda ST1100 Pan European that has an RS calibrated speedo fitted due to it previous use
  15. I see what you meant about the car tax rates. I went to have a look and test drive of a 2017 17 plate RX450h Luxury and the first question I asked was when was it first registered.. all good in that it was 2nd March so still within the lower tax rate. Will be picking it up the end of this week.
  16. Have you tried a Toyota dealer, they might use the same part on a Toyota model at a cheaper price
  17. Now .. that has got me thinking.. will I have hurt the feelings of my current car? I mean it was not long ..long relationship.. just under three year .. now trading her in for a newer model with a more youthful body??🤔😂
  18. Winter??? ...has anyone any idea when summer is going to show its face first?
  19. My current one is a 2011 and this has that power outlet there.
  20. Its been a few cars ago that I have had one I have gone over the 100,000 miles mark ... might just do it
  21. Well, that MOT yesterday has turned out to be expensive. It was booked in at RMB Lexus at Teesside for the MOT and Hybrid check. I made the mistake of having a look around their cars while I was waiting. One they had was a 2017 RX450h Luxury Premium Nav, one owner with slightly high mileage at 50,000...in black with grey interior. Just had a test drive a couple of hours ago .. lots I liked, one thing I prefer on my series 3 rather than the 4 is the mirrors .. not a fan of the shaped mirrors at the outside. ... but .. that MOT has now cost me the price of a newer RX450h.. pick it up this Thursday evening (fingers crossed) One question.. my 2011 is now sat at 99,924 miles and will be around 99,950 miles on Thursday unless I use it before then... do I dive a few miles to see it go over the 100,000 or do I hand it over just under?
  22. Well, another year.. another MOT test passed (same two advisories as last year - both front suspension arm bushes slightly worn)
  23. In the two and half year I have used the 2017 Satnav on the Lexus, the only time it has not been completely accurate was last week driving through Wales where there has been a new bypass built around one town.
  24. Not done this one but I upgraded mine from 2011 to 2017 when I bought mine, dealer done at a cost of £160. Unlike some on here I much prefer the built in Satnav than my old Tom-tom I used to have as it is a lot quicker redirecting and a bigger screen.
  25. Have you had a look to see if you have a broken rear spring? I had the rear left one go on me earlier this year, it can be a bit of a bu&&er to replace if one particular bolt refuses to come out. I was lucky they manages to cut it off without damage to the bushes as they are attached to the lower arm integral to it so if you damage the bush you have to replace the lower arm.
