I can't help with the viewing being in the north east I'm afraid. I've had mine about 3 months and did the radiator as a precaution about a month in. It seems they can either fail between the transmission fluid cooler/heater and the coolant radiator or the hose lugs the transmission lines attach to can break off. Radiator is about £280 and you only need that and coolant to swap so it's a relatively cheap one. In the USA every ISF seems to get a bad coolant leak from within the V under the inlet manifold, not really heard of that over here, maybe something to do with the higher temps over there. The other thing is the water pump, but most have been replaced now, mine was done quite early on in its life and I checked it again when I did the radiator and all is well. MPG has been great for what it is, it's hardly any worse than my previous golf r32's/ golf r estate. I've not done a long motorway journey yet but regularly get high 20's on a 40 mile each way trip on single carriageway national speed limit roads without trying. I'm sure it'll do low 30's on a long motorway trip sat at 70/80. When I was looking people seemed to mention check brakes for wear as they can be expensive, they are only expensive to do discs and pads if you go to Lexus, else they are very cheap. OE Brembo discs I've just bought for £114 an axle as an example! OE Brembo pads are very dusty so I'll be choosing an upgrade alternative, the brakes aren't lacking as standard but the dust does my head in!

You're welcome and i've not really got a comparison to make as i removed a k&n typhoon to fit this, which is about the loudest intake you can fit 😂 I'm still running the OEM filter at the minute as well, i think ill swap it out to a performance panel filter at some point.

It was on the coast road too funnily enough! Mines my daily car so will keep an eye out if im up that way. I work in Durham but live a little south but do get up to Newcastle with work. Yes we will have to one time, be interested to hear what you think of the new suspension and RR Racing bushes!

It turned up today funnily enough, which was a surprise. It was £85 with 4 really high quality stainless hose clips. The smaller ones for the breather aren't really needed though. The larger ones are as the standard clips are on their limit with the hose. It's basically the same as the HPS intake pipes from the US but about half the price and UK made. I got it in plain black to keep it looking OEM and it's all on and fitted great. I'll put a couple of pictures up tomorrow. Also have a really mint condition K&N typhoon intake up for grabs now, which sounds absolutely incredible but I must be getting old and wanted to keep the bay standard looking! Will be going up in the for sale section soon.

Were you thinking of selling recently Barry or keeping hold for now? Also think we are relatively local to each other, I've never spotted your car but a lad at work said he'd spotted a blue ISF a few weeks back.

I got in touch with them to check and they made the revisions you mention, all fitted very well and now have metal breather take offs. They said they would be getting it on the website ASAP and I'll be getting one in black as soon as. Happy days!

In case Wayne above cant find his old one, does anyone else have any leads on a standard airbox or just the MAF housing section? Currently have a temp fix but ideally want it sorting with a proper one! Thanks, Scott

I've got the none X pipe one but still have the secondary cats in place. It's great but as above i'd maybe have it a little louder to be honest so i think at some point ill get a section made up to remove the secondary cats (maybe small straight through silencers instead like the H&S center section). They only blip over a certain RPM, i've got the exhaust and a K&N Typhoon on mine and the rev matching sounds incredible now. The exhaust provides more low down noise then 4k+ the intake starts to take over. When i went to view my car i didnt realise it had the exhaust on and the cold start noise pretty much sold it to me 😂 luckily the whole car is a top example!

I dont think £50 a month on tax is much of an issue when you get to drive a really nice 5.0 v8 around. I was paying the same on my Mk5 r32 and felt the same with that, the noise alone was worth it. I tried the more modern turbocharged smaller displacement thing, fast yes, excited to jump in it and fire it up, not really. That was £20 a month to tax, so for £30 a month more i get a 5.0 v8. Good old man maths!

Hi All, Just had the car serviced and was looking over the car with the technician and i'd mentioned about doing the discs and pads on the front after winter, he agreed that even though the front disc was lipped that it would be fine to do that, plus also 5mm left on the pads. Other than the rear prop donut starting to show small cracks in the rubber, the car was perfect thankfully! Got home and thought i'd have a quick look for discs, i remember last time i checked it was around £160 for the front pair but on the below site, which i believe is part of Autodoc, front Brembo discs are currently £57ea! Next up will be the pads, i wont be getting OE Brembo pads thats for sure, the amount of dust off them is doing my head in. I like the sound of the Stoptech street pads or the low dust Project Mu ones. It's just trying to find a vendor in the UK, i think i have for the Stoptech but not Project Mu.

Crazy how clean it is inside with the rockers off, looks brand new! I wish we had more options for aftermarket parts over here like they do over there but understand the lack of demand compared to the US.

It's completely fine, i'd even go as far as to say i'd like it a little louder to be honest. It's quite loud on cold start but it's only for 20 seconds (or if you really dont want it to be loud on cold start just stick it in drive once fired up)

I did look at XFR's before the ISF, i nearly got one last year but PX price was bad and by the time i got an extra 2k via private sale the car had gone! I took it as a bit of a sign and just held out until the right time for the ISF. I'd still love one at some point, crazy amount of car for the money! c63 estate is a cracking shout, another car i had on my short list and would like at some point!

I don't really like modern cars so it doesn't fuss me at all, long term may try get into a GSF when they are a bit older as still offer that more oldskool experience for me. I don't find myself sticking with brands, I just get what fits at the time. If it's a good car to me it doesn't really matter the brand, I've had all sorts although thinking about it I seem to avoid French haha I'm in the ISF because I cannot trust the same age BMW M3 to behave and wanted something a little different anyway. General generic turbo 4wd newstuff I'm not bothered and electric I won't be into unless someone else pays for it, both leave me pretty cold no matter the power. .

Nice to see you sold it easily! What was the age/ mileage and how much was it up for out of interest? These cars either seem to sell really quickly or hang around for ages!

My golf r didnt have a normal function, it was the first car i experienced with adaptive cruise and i really didnt like it at first. Fully expected it to have a normal function for the reasons you stated but when i asked the question it didnt. Thats partly why i was (pleasantly) surprised the Lexus had both options haha

Yes lexus parts direct for radiator, like I say low to mid 300's for all parts (rad, coolant and I bought some ATF just in case) It seems some pattern parts are available but I think the costs from Lexus are pretty good and you get the coolant tank with it too. There's no way I'd be paying a premium for Lexus to fit it though (5-600 is a good price but anything more is taking liberties), it's a pretty easy job that any garage should find easy enough!

Where abouts are you, I'm in the North East and notice you're in Yorkshire so you're either pretty close or miles away with the size of Yorkshire 😂 either that or I'd be happy to arrange a courier (it's only the half with the MAF connection so packaging shouldn't be a pain) either way we can hopefully sort something out.
