  1. Just realised that if you want more than one thing that’s not an option so if you do, please comment below with what you might want, such as; Rear diffuser and side skirts please! Stupid polls..... stupid early morning posts..... stupid Dan! Forgot about this for a while..... Wooohooooooooo!!!
  2. Morning all, I’ve approached a firm in the states who seem to make very high quality replica carbon fibre parts for the ISF (no GSF and RCF parts as far as I can see) to see if they will do a group buy. To reassure you, this IS NOT the dodgy Dominican Republic firm that have let a few in here down but I obviously cannot guarantee anything the new firm provides other than the quality and contact to date seems to be a lot better. This is just to see who may be interested before I waste too much time. Please express interest in the poll above so I can test the water with some speculative volumes. I’ll be able to get discounted pricing ideas once I know the potential volumes. They do the carbon fibre in a choice of weaves to match any other stuff you may have on your car; Twill weave - This is what Novel (definitely) and Wald (I think) stuff comes in Plain weave - This is what most of the common replica Toms stuff comes in 45 degree plain weave - This is what genuine Toms stuff comes in They also do a reinforced version where both sides of the item are wrapped in the weave unlike genuine Toms stuff where only the main visible face is wrapped. I’ve only just reached out so any discounts are TBC but undiscounted prices are around $300 - $500 per item (Front lip, Front Bumper, Side Skirts, Rear Diffuser) plus shipping which we also may be able so reduce, again based on volumes. Here are some examples of the weaves they do and a link to the website http://www.shineautoproject.com/portfolio/lexus-06-14-isf-misc-aero-items/ so you can see what is available and at what standard price. Weaves are shown in a few examples below, in the first picture it is twill weave at the top (Novel and Wald standard style), then plain weave (Common Toms replica standard weave), then 45 degree plain weave (What real Toms stuff comes in). Once you know that please apply some logic to what the other photos show.
  3. Have one of these (Takeda) on mine at the minute, 2nd stage intake sound is very much still there and that’s with the vacuum hose unplugged and closed off at both ends so the secondary intake flap is fully open all the time. The second stage intake sound is far more cam related than flap related in all my experimentation. Given that the flap on mine is fully open all the time and I still get the two stage induction noise that would suggest the noise is not purely down to the flap at all. As for the Takeda being a “sealed” unit I’m afraid they are definitely not. There is a pretty large cut-out in the metal heat shield at the front that allows the cone filter to fit inside the housing. Due to this you are definitely heat syncing straight away as soon as you fit the Takeda versus the standard intake. The Takeda gives a much better sound but as FIGS has proven on the stateside forum, they do lose power. Not that noticeable in my opinion but if you are chasing numbers, don’t get one. The Takeda units look and sound the part though and that’s most of what I’m after. I’ve had a HPS elbow plus the K&N drop in with the standard box on mine, followed by the full Takeda set up. Smoother, more linear power on the HPS + K&N set up but more noise, more top end ooomph and a spanglier look with the Takeda. Both setups will be up for sale soon.... almost finished my own custom fully sealed unit!!
  4. Yeah, this and the other one with the full route on. How de we “stickify” them both?

  9. Based on that then remember that most of sales is listening. Finding out exactly what the client wants and miraculously that’s exactly what you are selling 😀 if its a group exercise they’ll be looking for open questioning capability (who, what, where, why, when, which, how), any question that elicits a structured answer instead of a yes or no, but then using closed questions to gain commitment such as a conditional close; “ if I can X will you Y” such as, if “If can find one with a sunroof will you buy the car”. Or, an alternative close such as; ”so will you take the red one or the black one” ( either way you are taking one!). Try and persuade without arguing, listen first then question and direct things towards your way of thinking. Most imprtantly, if you are given a task to complete as a group, the first thing you should ask, and make sure the assessors hear you ask it, is; ”Before we start, has anybody done this before” lsrge businesses often have ‘plants’ in the groups who will only guide you to success if somebody’s asks. Asking this question shows you are always looking to use all available resources. Good luck mate.
  10. +1 on that Steve. ”if you weren’t seeing anyone else after me, would you give me the job?
  11. Hey mate, good luck for the interview. I don’t work for Lexus but I have worked in a variety of sales roles in the last 20 years. I’m currently recruiting and training business development (sales) staff for Lloyds bank as well as maneging a team of business development staff. Make sure you have plenty of questions to ask them at the end of the interview other than “how much does it pay” and all the usual predictable stuff. It makes you stand out, be memorable and seem like you’re not just along cos you think the job would be cool. If you are being interviewed by existing sales staff then ask “what do you think will make a good Lexus salesperson” (or something along very similar lines) this question exhibits an interest in their opinions and a desire to meet their requirements. Subliminally that will endear them towards you. Ask them what training they offer and how long it is likely to take before you are fully up to speed (shows you are keen to start and learn). Another great line of questioning is “what characteristics or behaviours have made their most successful staff such a success” and “if I were to start tomorrow, who would you have me shadowing to make sure I get the best possible start”. Both of those get them thinking about you as if you are already in the job. Subliminally, they’ll be thinking about you physically doing the job and providing you’ve not come across as a full blown mentalist then the more they are thinking about you actually doing the job then the more likely you are to be offered it. Ask them what they think you’ve done during the interview that they have likedand also ask them what areas they feel you’ll need development on. If appropriate, give examples at this point of where you’ve overcome knowledge or training gaps in the past. Finally, if you feel like it’s gone well, ask them “so, when do I start”. It’ll get a laugh if nothing else! It all depends on how “salesey” the interviewing staff are but hopefully the above should help. Obviously a good knowledge of current Lexus models will help. If you get a chance, watch the YouTube video about how they make the new Lexus blue colour that has no actual blue in it and bring this up in conversation. If you know more about it than they do this will look good. Good luck chief and let us know how you get on!
  12. Jeeez mate, that’s commitment! thats got to be the longest commute for this one so far!!
  13. Nice one!! Looks like we’ll have great attendance on this one. Can’t wait to see a well loaded car park at Lexus Derby 😀
  14. Ignore all the above mate except the link to the Japan website, that would be really useful. Found all the other answers in the thread. Still very impressed!!
  15. Very impressed mate! same question as above, what was the total bottom line cost for the set up? Seem to recall about £600 all in being mentioned erarlier in the thread but I assume that includes the head unit too? I had a look online and can only seem to see the beat sonic part in USA auto stores, is there a link to beat sonic japan website you can share? Thanks in advance! Dan.
  16. Hey all, looks like @Northern isf is coming too, hopefully with a few more in convoy too! Looking good to break the attendance record 😎
  17. Fu£& me sideways with a ripsaw...... that’s fairly meaty then! You and Asbo Dave (in the M4 child terrifier) will have to have an exhaust battle!
  18. Can't find the detailed thread Pete, it is one here somewhere. I'm just about to put the car up on ebay with a load of recent photos when the exterior is all done. Here's a few from just before it left the sprayshop to whet your appetite. Loads of mods and fully smoothed as Sean mentioned. It's got twin turbo air scoops and a vented engine bay lid on it since these.
  19. There is a thread one here with mine in Pete. I'll find it. Mine is an N/A G-Limited Auto too. Pretty much a finished project other than the interior. Watch this space.
  20. Outside yes! Inside no! Not a fan of the red leather in these. You never seem to see many of the blue with white interior specced ones. Is that a special order colour?
