  1. Compared to my previous CRV the NX300H is extremely quiet at all speeds and especially on the motorway. Do not notice wind noise and the radio is audible which often it was not in the CRV because of wind and road noise. Notice how quiet it is on the M25 stretch at Leatherhead which is a concrete surface. In the CRV it was very noisy and you heard every join. In the NX you hardly hear the noise and can hear the radio. I have done quite a bit of driving lately when it has been windy and the one thing I like is how quiet the car is.
  2. I got the official handbook from Lexus but still not easy to read as you are kept referring back to other pages. Why they just cannot just say ‘do this’ rather than see this page and then see that page I do not know as it is just confusing.
  3. Enter the postcode and save. Next go to my memory, memory points, register, select previous destinations and select the post code you entered, OK, then edit and you can then edit the name and location. You can register 500 places. You can also register them to them to the 5 quick access points next to the home button
  4. I have registered my phone etc as you say but the live traffic is not very good. It keeps on telling me that there is slow traffic ahead but I never catch it up. One day in the morning and then in the evening on returning it told me there was slow traffic and a queue in the same area but I never saw it. Other times it says queuing traffic ahead when I am stationary in a traffic jam. Not much use.
  5. I have given up with the Lexus sat nav for long journeys as the traffic updates are useless. If going on a long journey I use my TomTom which has live traffic updates and warns me of delays and suggests alternate routes. As others have found it takes many clicks to enter a route especially if you check the 3 routes suggested to find that two are often identical and are often so close it is difficult to tell the difference. I don't listen to the radio as I use my iPod for music and I must say that the sound quality is great and it is nice to be in a car where you can hear the music rather than road noise on motorways.
  6. Hi, I am also baffled by the interface as well, I asked Lexus for a handbook but still find it strange and difficult to find anything, impossible if driving. I hadn't realised that the that the system time isn't updated. Need to check that tonight when I go out. As you I am used to the time being picked up by the gps system and correcting the time. What I did notice though was the clock was one hour out and that has to be done manually by pressing a button and hoping you stop the hands in the right place. I have wrist watch that sets the correct time by just pressing a button and it goes back or forward by 1 hour, why one where you have to hold a button and hope to stop it at the correct time. I ask my wife to change things like the voice etc or setting a destination if I am driving but she finds it difficult to navigate all the screens as well and often I end up having to stop to sort it out as she cannot find the correct page. Hopefully it will get easier but even having sat in the car and spent ages going through the different options I am still confused as to where everything is. What is the page which says Lights? Which Lights are you controlling? Must look it up. As you say it is a lovely car to drive, quiet on the motorway and I love a lot of the features on the car. However I find the drivers seat a little hard as if something is sticking up in my right buttock. It must be me and my back/leg but my wife also says her seat is similar. Only had mine 3 months so finding what all the buttons etc do is also a challenge. Love the panoramic camera view. What I would like is the driver info to be more configurable. Only being able to see 4 out of about 9 options in two screens is poo. A third would be nice. John
  7. This s my first Lexus and I was looking forward to a long journey in it. I had a test drive in a demonstration vehicle owned by one of the staff and it felt comfortable. I hope the seat wears in fast. Will pop into the dealer this week to see what they say. Annoying really as it is fun to drive and 'relaxing' when not aware of the seat.
  8. Just returned from a 10 day holiday in the NX. Drove to Donington for a triple car experience and found the seats hard over the 175 miles. My wife found the passenger seat hard as well. Then drove to North Wales and still found the seat uncomfortable. Short drives up to 1 hour in North Wales just bearable but the return journey today, 285 miles was a nightmare. Had to stop 3 times for a break as the seats were so uncomfortable. The issue is the seam at the back of the seat, it just digs in and is hard. If the seat had just two panels then a seam across the middle would be OK but that seam splitting the rear part into two where you actually sit is so hard and just digs into my thigh/hip. I was really glad to get home. It was the most uncomfortable journey I have ever had. Only had the car two months and now done 2000 miles. The thought of another 3 years on PCP is not a pleasant one. Having said that the drive was good, quiet inside, great ML radio and would have been enjoyable if not for the pain in thighs. Anyone recommend a good cushion until the seat softens? Mainly done motorway driving and averaging 38/39 mpg. Hoped to get nearer 42. Mpg good around country lanes but really drops once you get onto the faster roads. Only to be expected but great when you drive a short distance in town and see 60+ mpg. Getting to really like the car but need to sort out seat.
  9. I disagree with comfortable seats. I have the premium model and find the stitched join on the rear third of the drivers seat very hard and uncomfortable as does my wife with the passenger seat. Visibility is poor front and back. Poor position of buttons bottom right and left of steering as cannot he seen when driving or stationary if you need to change anything However a great car car to drive, quiet and the all round camera view great for parking.
  10. Where is the NX section? This site does not seem to be very user friendly. Very commercial for an owners club.
  11. Hi, My first Lexus too (NX 300h Premium) and registered August 1st 2017 after having driven a Honda CRV diesel for 9 years. Was going to stick with another diesel but after all the uncertainty popped into my local Lexus dealer to see what they had. Offered a test drive and on impulse bought the one in the show room that day. Still getting used to the car as it is so different to the Honda. Likes: quiet drive, looks, easy to drive, comfort, all the tech. Dislikes: reflections in windscreen, boot size, visibility (luckily have the all round camera view), poor user guide and a lot of the tech not explained clearly. Had to get the full user manual and navigation manuals off Lexus. Luckily they supplied them free of charge. Currently getting around 40 mpg but only doing short journeys. Hoping it will improve on longer journeys. Quite hilly where I live so all engine on way to local shops but mainly electric on way back as down hill. Pity the all electric mode is only over a short distance. Also noticed that one 16 mile town journey home was mainly electric and good economy but a week later at night poor economy as more engine driven. However it is a nice car to drive comfortable.
  12. I found the link when searching for Lexus accessories. Haven't gone gold yet. Does my Tunbridge Wells Lexus dealer give discounts?
