  1. Will do. But he's not annoying is he? He looks annoying Probably a good 80% of YT content I start and don't finish is down to the presenter rather than content. Anyone else do this? The Germans probably have a word for it.
  2. Air and pollen filters are always fun. This was the one in my last Saab.
  3. Cheers Steve. The bore is larger at 73mm so spigot rings would be required. Good tip with the wheel nuts
  4. You know, I never thought of that. My LS always smells a bit fusty. I think a previous owner liked cigars. I'm going to try that.
  5. Someone on Twitter I follow always refers to their other half as "The Current Mr Magill™️" which always makes me laugh.
  6. Looks like 225/55 17s might fit the bill. I think I was overthinking this a little. I'm aware of speedo accuracy etc and I'd used willtheyfit and a couple of others but imagined it was all a bit more of a dark art than it actually is. Oponeo has a matching feature that lists dozens of sizes that will fit.
  7. I'm toying with the idea of putting some fancy new wheels on my LS 400. I know which wheels I want and to clear the LS brakes with this particular wheel I will have to go from the standard 7Jx16 ET45 wheels with 225/60 R16 tyres to 8Jx17 ET45 wheels. But what size tyre should I go for? I'll be honest, in all my years I've never put aftermarket wheels on a car so this has never come up. I know I'll lose a little ride quality going from 16s to 17s so ideally I'd like to keep as much sidewall as possible. Can anyone advise?
  8. https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-ls/lexus-ls-phase-ii-1995-2000/lexus-ls-2-brakes-transmission/lexus-ls-phase-2-front-anti-squeal-shim-kit/
  9. Agreed. I've had some absolute shockers done. Particularly on the Saabs. If you look really closely there may be a little bit of pitting where the worse of the corrosion was and the powder coat hasn't been able to level but nothing that jumps out at you. With this sort of cosmetic work it needs to be established from the start that the car is only worth £2k - £3k and you just want it to look better. Without actually saying it! A job to a good standard rather than something showroom. Am I making sense?
  10. I really wouldn't buy new wheels and especially not 18s. But it's entirely your choice.
  11. Odd size. But Wheel-Size.com gives 2.3 bar for 18s.
  12. So exactly a year in and apart from me changing the oil and filter yesterday, zero spend. And a fresh 12 month ticket this morning. That's a result in anyone's book
  13. I've replied to your other posts and for the other work I'd estimate about £600 all in if you use people you trust. And the 2JZ should run forever if properly maintained. Yes it's a low value car but well worth the sprucing up in my opinion. And 600 quid isn't even a decent deposit on a new car, never mind the ongoing payments, lump sum outlay or inevitable depreciation.
  14. Again, about £200ish from a body shop you trust not to pull your leg.
  15. A decent local wheel refurbishment company should be able to do these. Proper wheels off job plus shot blasted and powder coated. I pay £200 (cash) for a set but I'm oop north.
  16. I believe these are still available from the main dealer. Or they were a year or two ago for my IS300. I believe they come body coloured too. https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/toyota/altezza/1-wagon-right-xe10-2001-r-2951/body-and-interior-3/side-moulding-289
  17. Never been a huge Dad's Army fan but having a digital radio in the Subaru has allowed me to start listening to Radio 4 Extra again. It was Dad's Army on the way to work the other day and I laughed like a drain. "They don't like it up 'em!" And Friday night I was on the Scouts run with two 13 year olds in the car. I made a Dads Army reference and one of them spotted it straight away. There is hope.
  18. Agreed. My LS was my daily for 8 months rain or shine and I enjoyed every second. New family car has made me put it under cover for now but it still comes out as often as I can manage.
  19. It's the same one. Same part number. It's my little bit of Fast and Furious
  20. Lovely stuff. I see you have the genuine Toyota Supra positive terminal cover. Worth 10 brake at least that
  21. That's very nice. They do look very special in darker colours. Another indication of where the prices of these cars are going. I'll keep polishing mine
  22. Dodgy MOT for a dodgy car I think. That conversation we had the other day Steve, there is rising interest at the moment for particular Japanese motors. The LS being one. Unfortunately this does attract the attention of chancers.
