  1. Ah, good point! No I haven't. Thank you. I didn't think of that.
  2. So we're a two Lexus (Lexi? tee hee) family now. And the best bit 2006 and full Lexus history from new
  3. Slightly off topic but where would one acquire such a thing?
  4. Very nicely. Amazed at how seamless the switch from battery to engine is. There are one or two things that need attention but that's half the fun. Unfortunately it's been a London car so the bodywork does have some battle scars but mechanically it appears to be spot on. I'll put some more info in another thread.
  5. Sorry, thread hijack. Glad this popped up again. I couldn't remember where I'd seen it. Colin, would you happen to know how to adjust the bonnet catch on my 1st gen IS? There's a very slight up and down when the bonnet is closed. I assume it's the two bolts either side of the catch but wondered if you knew otherwise.
  6. I say what I like and I like what I bloody well say! Brother, we are kindred spirits
  7. Off to look at a 400h today. You never know. And I won't say how much I might spend in case Fsport gets upset
  8. Welcome to the forum Delphius1. My gaze keeps getting turned by the 400h but if the right 300 comes along I'm sure I can be persuaded
  9. Never had a car off Lexus Sheffield. I've only had my IS since last August but it has been in once or twice. However, I prefer to get the work done as quickly as possible and if I don't ask for a loan car I'm in within a day or two. The service I receive from Lexus Sheffield is second to none. Well over and above what you'd expect after buying a 5 grand car off them. For example this morning I needed some coolant. The service department were quite willing to lend me an already opened 5l until Monday when I could return it to them because they didn't have any 1l bottles to buy.
  10. I've looked at a couple of RX400h now and it appears that my budget is a mint RX300 or an RX400h that's a bit tatty. I could afford a 400h that's a bit tidier but I'm having a bit of a mental block at the moment when it comes to spending the money! It's an age thing I think...
  11. Good to hear. These RX do seem to be very well regarded. I've actually done a little more browsing and there are one or two RX400h available if I was to stretch my budget. Decisions, decisions... (but what nice decisions to have to make )
  12. Same with my IS. Sits at more or less 3k assuming I'm doing an indicated 75-80mph with the satnav telling me I'm actually doing 70mph.
  13. At least I'm starting from an IS300. Thirsty to slightly thirstier But room for all the ******* that a dad of 3 young kids has to carry around. And yes, I'm prepared to pay over too. I know some previous posters have poo poo'd the price but that history and condition comes at a price and it's a price I'm willing to pay. Diesels are awful aren't they? I remember getting my first company supplied diesel and thinking "So this is how it's going to be is it" and putting up with them for years. In my view it really doesn't matter what you get they're all dreadful. Don't get me wrong, I've had some diesels cars I've really liked but I'd have swapped out that tractor engine for a petrol in a heartbeat. Forums are full of drivers banging on about torque and mid-range pull, thanks but no thanks.
  14. I'm male and I'm clueless. Welcome to the forum.
  15. It does Prince Bob. Thank you. The search goes on. A slight sense of urgency now because I've promised my IS300 to my dad He's very excited.
  16. That was news to me but I'll give it a go https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.mylexus.lexus.com.mylexus
  17. Thank you for not moderating that Colin.
  18. Well it seems my search has unfortunately taken a bit of a wrong turn. More or less throughout this I'd intended to buy this one https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201805086299597?logcode=visc&fromSA=true Just like my IS but in RX form. Full Lexus history, one lady owner, low mileage, spoke to the previous owner, spoke to Southend Lexus. Best colour for one too I thought. A few calls and messages back and forth between myself and the seller, all good. He even dropped the price a bit because the cambelt is well overdue. Then tonight while discussing deposits etc I get a really offensive racist video from him via Whatsapp that was clearly intended for someone else but came to me. My jaw nearly hit the floor. So, Essex Car Centre in Billericay (a family run business with a great reputation) is run by a guy called Chris who thinks it's OK to share racist videos. Thanks but no thanks. Gutted.
  19. Yes, appears they've messed with it and made it next to useless again.
  20. I intended to avoid the air suspension but how can you tell just from the pictures you linked to?
  21. OP, have a 'like' from me. Miserable old buggers the lot of you.
