  1. Doing my usual LOC browse I realised I hadn't shared any info on my latest purchase. 1999 MR2 REV5 T-Bar. Let me know what you think
  2. WD40 will do it.
  3. New EBC pads on the LS. Hopefully better than the squeaky Lexus ones I took off.
  4. I once attempted a stitch on cover on the GS. Got about 1cm before giving it up as an appalling job.
  5. Goodness me, you've been busy! Very impressed with the stitching.
  6. Buy & Sell Parts & Accessories - Lexus Owners Club
  7. Makes me miss my GS300 And I notice that they all manage to leave without stuffing themselves into a hedge, pedestrian or kerb. Can't really be said for UK shows!
  8. You're welcome. Quite proud of this one too. Such a shame the show hasn't happened since Covid.
  9. The opening "act" at Cosford was one of the RAF's Typhoons. The announcer said that the show was about to start and the Typhoon was just leaving Lincolnshire. It came roaring over the airfield fast and low probably no more than 5 minutes later!
  10. I was in my local B&Q a couple of years ago and noticed the drone of a plane approaching overhead. Suddenly I thought "That's a Lancaster" and rushed outside. The sound of those four Merlins is so distinctive. This pic is from the last show at RAF Cosford in (I think) 2019.
  11. Love gold badges on a Lexus and imo they suit any MK1 IS, MK1/2 GS or LS400. Oddly that was not my view when the models were current. Specifically for the LS400, local dealers offered the optional gold pack priced between £800 and £1000. This included all the rear badges, front grille emblem, wheel centre cap emblems and the fixing ring and cap on the electric aerial. It is 24 carat gold plate. My LS came with the gold pack but all were tarnished or faded. Some were salvageable but for one or two I bought silver eBay replacements and then tracked down the local plater who used to do it for Lexus Sheffield. He had a look and said he'd charge me what he used to charge Lexus..... (gulp!)...... 80 quid
  12. These cars are pretty rare over here now. Have you tried over on the US IS forums such as Club Lexus?
  13. Is this a light that indicates P, R, D etc next to the gear lever? I'm almost certain I've never seen that illuminated on my IS300. I'll have to check.
  14. Very good news.
  15. Ooo, nice touch. @TOXIC if you're missing an owners manual I think you can download them from Lexus UK. If they don't have the 250 then I'm certain Lexus US will. They seem to go back further.
  16. Quite possibly interference from another source. Especially when you say it worked when you got to Lexus. Had this on an '02 IS and an '06 RX.
  17. Ah, bang goes my theory then. I was going to suggest just driving it more! Throwing this out to the other 400h owners past and present. Though I still remain skeptical about the gadget. Especially on a hybrid.
  18. Hi Michael. Welcome. Great car the RX 400h. Do you do a lot of town driving? Low speed, stop start, short journeys? Or does your RX get a chance to regularly stretch its legs on some faster A roads, dual carriageways or motorways for a prolonged period? As you can probably guess I'm skeptical about the devices you mention!
  19. I think sometimes it's down to whether a car is in for service or warranty.
  20. Looks amazing! Can you explain RSR and Shiatsu? Pretty sure we had a Shiatsu when I was little
  21. Good to see another well preserved Lexus A credit to you David. Haven't had the pleasure of a Sportcross but do own an IS300. Currently sitting at 70k miles and being serviced and MOT'd as we speak.
  22. I'm sorry too but I fail to see what it has got to do with Lexus UK.
  23. I've just returned from a week in Cornwall (using Google Maps via Android Auto in a rented Ford Galaxy) and one thing that did strike me was the number of signs I saw asking drivers to please ignore satnav and follow signs for eg the A30 to get to wherever. Satnav does cause real problems in places such as Devon and Cornwall due to the narrowness and lack of visibility on the tiny country lanes. This seems to be extremely bad this year due to the sheer numbers holidaying there and the fact that approximately 50% of the vehicles we encountered were Volkswagen T5s
  24. I don't really want to post this but my LS may be coming up for sale. I'm mentioning it here first because many of you will be familiar with it (virtually at least) and know I'm not some eBay chancer. It wasn't cheap to buy, I have lavished my usual level of attention and money on it and I won't be giving it away. I think we can all agree that the market for these cars is extremely strong at the moment and I'd be unwilling to let it go for less than £6500. Not really in a position right now to sort a proper ad but feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or just throw used £20 notes at me.
