  1. There are usually two open positions. Open all the way and you will get the buffeting, open just to the default and you shouldn't.
  2. Funnily enough I saw one in Sheffield yesterday. Very rare car so did a proper double take.
  3. I would love to get my hands on an LS400 and go full JDM with all the accessories And a Soarer? Have we seen pics of that? If not, why not?
  4. Update after a few weeks. Everything lovely and dry. Not a drop that I can see (or feel).
  5. Always thought exactly the same with the Volvo until someone casually mentioned covering the brake when you release it. I thought Doh! Very quickly became second nature after starting the car.
  6. Pretty sure I've told this one before but I remember this subject being discussed years ago on a BMW forum. After much too-ing and fro-ing about fuel consumption, fan speeds, wear on components blah blah it was generally agreed that the correct operation for climate control is... Buy car Set climate control Some years later, sell car
  7. Sounds a bit like the footbrake in the XC90. A foot operated pedal to apply the brake but a handle to pull to disengage. Can you cover the footbrake with your foot so it doesn't completely disengage when you pull the lever? Pretty much what I had to do on the XC90. To stop it rolling and avoid the bloody loud twang! when the footbrake disengaged.
  8. Yes, I remember that sort of thing very well.
  9. Have you tried the app? I've got everything going back to 2002 for the IS and 2006 for the RX. I think all you need is the VIN.
  10. Assuming the fitting is the same as the 400h, keep your wits about you. One of the nuts is very easy to get lost inside the panel. Also, a bit of thought towards sealant. After disturbing my rear light fittings I got a bit of water coming in behind the lens and had to remove it again.
  11. All of them by the looks of it
  12. Lexus Sheffield were happy to supply copy invoices for every service my IS had since 2002. They just put a black marker pen through the name and address. However, I bought the car from them, they'd serviced it and I'd used them for some other bits too. I'd already established myself as a customer of theirs and were happy to help. The dealer you contacted Vladimir is hiding behind GDPR (or just doesn't understand it) but more likely just can't be bothered because you're not their customer. I take it it's not a Lexus dealer? You can't use the app for history?
  13. Usually when I'm referring to unpleasantness on forums I'm thinking either BMW or VAG...
  14. I hope you have better luck than I usually do Darren. I always think I'm going to break them getting them off and can never get them back on again. Doesn't matter which make or model
  15. Link doesn't work for me but if it's this one I'd bite their hand off
  16. I think there is something to be said for driving a marque that doesn't really have any baggage. There does seem to be a maturity of attitude (and age) on here which helps. Obviously there's the F lot but even they seem to behave
  17. I think this is the first new Lexus model since I became a Lexus owner and joined this forum. It will be interesting to see what if any issues crop up with the first 12-18 months worth of cars. Some brands I've owned or leased previously seem to treat new model owners as beta testers.
  18. Something else about this forum. There's no unpleasantness.
  19. Wasn't having a pop. Maybe a poor choice of words. Are you running the correct pressures too? It's low and possibly over inflation may not be helping?
  20. Had my 400h a while now and I can safely say I've never experienced torque steer. Like the thread a few weeks ago complaining that pressing the accelerator just makes noise and no progress, I never experience that either. I've driven all types of autos over the years and one thing I do know is that mashing the pedal is not the best way to make rapid progress.
  21. Agreed. All a bit cryptic but yes, just deal with your insurance company. That's what you pay them for.
  22. Never use comparison sites and avoid the big names who draw you in cheap then offer new customers a better deal when you come to renew. It's all a con and I refuse to play the game.
