  1. Not sure if you're on Twitter Alex but one of the serial car buyers I follow on there has just picked up a Soarer and it's his new play thing. Look for @Joe_Hallenbeck
  2. Brilliant Alex! Please keep us up to date with progress. And when it's concours, sell it to me
  3. Guys, they do a glass cleaner too. Clearly what Phil has bought. I buy it too but not for the car, it's good on the shower screen at home Phil, they're talking about this.
  4. And now I'm looking at a bloody 9-5 Aero. Damn this curse!! How can I rid myself of this terrible second hand car buying affliction!!
  5. Will do. Burning CDs. Let's see if I remember how to do that. Fire up the PC!
  6. If it's anything like the AG kit using the drill attachment it's totally terrifying. When the lenses are quite opaque you think "OMG. What have I done?" but as you use the fine paper they get better and better. Transformed my old V70.
  7. None of that on mine unfortunately. But to be honest I'm a little too in love with my cassettes at the moment
  8. Fair enough. That'll be with the Hybrid side badging etc?
  9. As above or as Colin recommends, isopropyl alcohol. It really doesn't matter about the make and model of car. However, you do mention "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". MAF cleaning is certainly an internet forum favourite. Something just about anyone can do and then swear blind their car picks up from standstill or has a slight improvement mid-range. Personally I'd file it with K&N filters and V-Power. Unless you're completely cack handed it won't do any harm. Equally it probably won't make any difference either.
  10. I take it all you guys with 06/07 RXs and MP3 playback have the ML set up? Mine's the standard kit in an 06 and I've never tried MP3s assuming they wouldn't work.
  11. I've used Halfords contact cleaner before with no ill effects. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/lubricating-penetrating-oil/halfords-electrical-contact-cleaner-500ml#
  12. In a rush of sensible blood to the head the 9000 is on the Bay if anyone fancies a bit of '90s nostalgia https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183678189189 I have too many cars
  13. Reviving this one. I'm trying to use my 400h's built in Bluetooth rather than the little FM dongle thing I usually have. I'm having real trouble getting even as far as transferring contacts. Could anyone explain the procedure with an Android handset? Is a third party app required?
  14. Meant to mention this 15 year thing the other day. I was going to ask if anyone else had heard of it. Like others couldn't find clarification online. All prompted because I received an email flyer from Lexus Sheffield. Mine has full Lexus history which I assume is a criteria but odd situation where it's in warranty, then out for a couple of years, then back in again.
  15. The kit is essentially this by the looks of it As Herbie points out, if you don't seal the lens after polishing it will just cloud again. No you don't have to remove the lamp.
  16. Interesting that it includes sealant. Something missing from the AG/Meguiars/whoever kits.
  17. Thanks for the likes. Have to say it's as handsome in the flesh, if a little battered. And parked on my road over the weekend absolutely tiny!
  18. Another pic
  19. Terrible isn't it? This one was actually given to me would you believe? Currently doesn't need anything spending on it and it has a full set of brand new Cross Climates. So instead of buying them for my RX I'm running this As soon as a anything goes wrong it's going. *when I say "anything" I mean over and above the heating, air con, central locking, screen washers, that funny farty noise it makes when you set off and the odd looseness in the steering. I think most older Saabs are capable of astronomical mileages, much like Volvos. But there's no way they're screwed together like period Japanese motors. Mint Griffin or mint LS400? I think I'd go for the Lexus.
  20. It's battered but it's lovely to drive. 3.0 V6 Auto Griffin.
  21. Forgot to say. I've "acquired" another Saab
  22. Bloody hell. That's tragic. Poor souls.
  23. There's a guy across the road from my parents who does this. Very annoying when you're reversing out of their drive. His is empty and has room for probably 3 cars. Anyhoo, insurance. Just to annoy everyone, I've now reached the magic 50 and the insurance for my 9-3 is £170. I recently picked up a '96 9000 too and on the same policy it was an extra £30 Old age does have its advantages.
  24. I'd gone through in my mind all the places I'd parked Monday and something just didn't add up... The damage only made sense if it had in fact been my neighbour across the road. He has a tight drive and with cars parked either side a scrape was perfectly possible... But he'd parked his work van on the street the night before and his precious A3 was still in the drive. There was nothing else for it. I had to confront him... He spilled the beans immediately. But what I couldn't work out was just how he'd done it... Anyhoo, I've run out of Columbo jpegs so it turns out he had to turn round in the road in the van because there was a taxi waiting to pick up and he clipped my RX. He was going to tell me but all this happened at 6am. We've decided it's all the taxi driver's fault. I don't doubt he'll pay because he's straight up and he paid when he dropped a ladder on my wife's Touran
