  1. Do you wear your tin foil hat all the time? Or take it off when you go to bed? I've heard they probe you while you're asleep In other news, I notice Google Maps navigation now gives you camera warnings. Made a trip to Birmingham on Saturday even less enjoyable that it usually is.
  2. I have no problem with it. Speed kills. I see drivers speeding all the time. I'm sure you all do. Too many out there think they're driving gods. If it means it stops some ****** tear arsing up my road because he *thinks* there's no risk then so be it. Do Lexus have manual limiters? Our S-Max and previous BMWs had them. As an experiment try setting it. It really isn't that much of a biggie other than you'll surprise yourself with how often you try to adopt an I Know Best attitude to speed limits. Obviously it's only going to be on new vehicles so I think you're safe with your 130kph tomfoolery Harry The real effect of this will be 10-15 years after the legislation when those vehicles without limiters are getting rarer and rarer. Unpopular opinion but I've always known this "freedom" wouldn't last. Too many people are killed or maimed for us to carry on as we are. I aim to make the most of it while I can and it makes me a little sad to think my kids won't enjoy what I've enjoyed but so be it. The next time you see someone driving like a loon or driving with that complete lack of awareness that seems to be getting more prevalent, this is why we can't have nice things.
  3. I was at my Saab garage the other day and there was a 9-3 on the ramp and one of the guys was working under it. But every second or two the rear number plate lights flashed on and off. They said he'd fitted some "daft LEDs". I've a feeling the ignition wasn't even on. Is that what you mean?
  4. And in other news, went to the Classic Restoration doo daa at the NEC today in the 9-5. Made it all the way there AND all the way back. That's a result in anyone's book.
  5. Fresh ticket with no advisories on the 9-3 yesterday Looks like I bought a good 'un.
  6. Err... glad you're enjoying it? In other news, saw 2 W201s today! A late 2.0 and an LE. Both driven by old boys with a trilby on the rear shelf
  7. I think it's one of those things that would niggle me if I only did the one. Assuming it's not an eye wateringly expensive job?
  8. Bit of a result I reckon. Gurgling aside, brakes and shocks. Easy. And cheap(ish).
  9. A bit too far south(west) for me unfortunately. In other news, I learnt where Wiltshire is.
  10. The process is powder coating. Have a look here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powder_coating and the link above. That's the firm I use. They can either keep hold of the car or you can just drop the wheels off. The advantage of them having the car is they do all the lifting with the tyres and even rebalance them before putting them back on the vehicle.
  11. Not sure where in Yorkshire you are but I'm in Sheffield and use a firm a few hundred yards away from my office in S3. For a proper job you need the wheels off the car, tyres off the wheels. Have a look here. I dropped the car off Monday and got it back Wednesday. Around £50 per wheel.
  12. Running multiple vehicles for no particular reason other than you can. It's the future
  13. When I saw it come down that morning I was lying there fretting about not sorting the tyres out this winter. As I say, gone by the time I got up.
  14. I once ordered a couple of (I think) Pirellis from Kwik Fit because their price was the best I'd seen. When I went to have them fitted they were an entirely different speed rating and the branch manager didn't seem to think that was important. Walked away.
  15. Have had the wheels refurb'd for the new owner. They look superb.
  16. Ah. OK. Anyhoo, reported to eBay and I let the owner know.
  17. I've got to sell one before it'll let me add the 9-5.
  18. Or alternatively, in the spirit of buying cars unseen, hammer it round the M25 a couple of times and then come back here and tell us it ran like a Swiss watch
  19. Like members of my family you're probably having trouble keeping up. I do have my OG9-3 Convertible but I recently weakened and picked up a 2005 9-5 Aero saloon. That's the one I took to Karl. 82k miles and £1350. Silly not to really. Hey Josh, sorry about your thread
  20. Had to Google the Cullinan. Eww. That and the Bentley Bo'Selecta are ghastly vehicles.
  21. You both mention the ride. I've only ever had the CT as a courtesy car and agree that it does seem a little firm but the ones they have on the fleet at Lexus Sheffield always seem to be higher spec models with bigger wheels. Could this be the issue? And if the OP is buying the base model he might avoid this?
  22. Actually it's just me moving around a lot. While I'm sure Hirsch are still a force to reckoned with I'm pretty sure NoobTune can offer all that for a fraction of the cost. I went to see Karl a couple of weeks ago and my Aero is ridiculous now. Anyhoo, the OP isn't going to buy a Saab. Even though he should Did I mention how cheap they are?
