  1. Good stuff and a thread I'm keeping an eye on. Picking up my own GS 300 in a week or two, I'm sure this will all be useful.
  2. Make the phone forget the car and make the car forget the phone. Turn the phone off and then on again. Try that.
  3. Oh dear. That doesn't sound very good. You sound like a reasonable man John, I'm sure you haven't jumped in feet first. I'd be expecting a free first service or similar. Some sort of offer rather than making you ask. I'm not one for showing off, my default isn't to look for problems and then kick off but if there's nothing forthcoming I'd probably vote with my feet and leave a review on Google.
  4. Got to be frustrating though. But I'd imagine there will be a freebie or two. All good things etc
  5. Depending on how precious you are about your car I find a Sharpie is the best quick fix for stone chips. Touch up paint is always a blob, coloured polish washes off almost immediately and a respray is expensive. Break out the permanent marker.
  6. Good stuff Jason. Funnily enough, changing the gearbox oil is on my list for the 9-5. Though the preferred method for those that have more time on their hands than me appears to be a partial flush ie drain, fill, run, drain, fill, run etc. Roughly £120 worth of gearbox oil. Probably why I haven't done it yet. The 9-5 also has a gearbox oil dipstick which is a new one on me but does make filling easier.
  7. I could watch reviews like that all day long. Like the Car And Driving reviews, proper William Woollard levels of car nerdiness. Not interested in how fast it is on a track or whether you could fly it off a ski ramp.
  8. Another vote for Gummi Pflege here. There are various brands and some are cheaper than others but basically all the same. Used it for years on all sorts of cars.
  9. Proper engine too. None of that electric nonsense
  10. Extremely impressive.
  11. That's a lovely looking thing that is. Best colour combination too I'd say.
  12. Nice cars. Just looked them up on the Lexus website. Good to see you picked the £3500 automatic wipers option
  13. Ha! No, I've had lease cars longer but as you're probably aware I do get bored easily! That's what started me on the whole Volvo/Lexus/Saab thing.Cheaper cars that have depreciated about as much as they're going to and I can sell on easily for roughly what I paid. The Lexus is an unexpected exception and a keeper. It also solved the problem of my dad being without a car. He does very few miles and knows I keep an eye on him! Actually, I can't believe it's only two years since I started this thread.
  14. Here's my thread on it where Jay helpfully chips in too
  15. It's like new because it's always been garaged. Plus I had it waxoyled when I first got it.
  16. So when you guys refer to a MKIII it's the LS 400 before the lights went big? Or was there another?
  17. I think that was the one I was referring to but I thought it was a 400h because there was all sorts of battery chat. I barely remember what I had for breakfast though so don't take my word for it.
  18. Another little update. 65156 miles, 17th scheduled service and an MOT yesterday. £223 at Lexus Sheffield. Still running like a Seiko
  19. I had a leak that started suddenly on my '06 RX 400h. There are plenty of mentions on here about the rear light seals leaking but I found no evidence it was coming from there. I removed, resealed and refitted the roof bars, tailgate struts, and the two screws that go through from the rear bumper into the body of the car at either side of the lower tailgate opening. I assume all these parts are similar to your 300. I also put some seal on the seam welds around the top of the tailgate opening where the struts are. Not sure which one did the trick but no further leaks.
  20. When I grow up I want to drop 60k on a Lexus Good man John. And Mesa Red is lovely. Don't forget a picture or two when you get it.
