  1. Good for you. Let's keep these cars on the road. This is one of the things that worries me about all my cars. Some idiot not concentrating and hitting either of the Saabs or Lexus and he/she gets theirs repaired and mine get written off.
  2. Agreed. I wouldn't take that lying down. 240 quid fix on a two year old car? Not on your nelly.
  3. I park in parent and child spaces. There. I said it
  4. All these pictures being posted up. Tbh I'm astonished at how neat a job they do! Public flogging is obviously the only suitable punishment but at least they're not wrecking the car in the process. There was a spate of BMW airbag thefts a few years ago and my E91 was targeted and a right mess they made too.
  5. Good stuff. Thank you. Any further advice would be much appreciated.
  6. A leap of faith maybe but I get the impression Ron is a true gent.
  7. Love the idea of a 350 but like Robert just couldn't swallow the VED cost.
  8. Actually that's not entirely true. I don't pick it up until Friday. So you may or may not know (or care) that I recently came to an agreement with @ronniemac for his 2002 GS 300. Well this coming Friday myself and Mrs rich1068 are flying up to Inverness from East Midlands to do the deal in person and then driving the car over the Cairngorms and on to Musselburgh where we'll stop over with friends and then carry on home to Sheffield. So that's roughly 400 miles over two days in an unknown 17 year old, 125k mile, sub-£1k Lexus. To say I'm looking forward to it would be an understatement I've also just renewed my Lexus breakdown cover for another year. I think there is a problem with one of the O2 sensors and I'm hoping the drive won't burn out the cat. Anyhoo, a couple of pics supplied by Ron. Btw, is this Cinnabar Red?
  9. Agreed. A 400h in that sort of condition would be ££££ more.
  10. In a way you already answered that question. There are plenty of people around who never question where used parts come from.
  11. Very common on BMWs. All those 318i M Sports having trouble getting the power down
  12. Is that an SE-L though? I can't make out the buttons?
  13. I think these pay within 24 hours things are just another way of wringing more £££ out of us. I'm not one of those that complains on behalf of the "poor" motorist but are you honestly telling me they didn't factor in all the people who forget to pay and get a PCN?
  14. I'd snatch their hand off. 41k miles? Get in.
  15. I normally stay well clear of comparison sites but yes I have. Even then the results weren't that good. Best quote so far was going direct to... Saga. Not sure how I feel about that It appears that as far as the insurance world is concerned the GS 300 is quite unloved.
  16. I've had to use Lexus/AA breakdown 3 times since I got it with my IS in August 2017. They've always been brilliant. I should also add the breakdowns were A Saab A Hyundai Err, another Saab
  17. You may or may not be aware that I've done a deal with a member on here to relieve them of their '02 GS 300. But getting realistic insurance quotes seems to be proving problematic. Funniest one so far being just short of 1200 quid from our friends Adrian Flux. The response I'm getting seems to be it's too new for classic status, isn't considered a "modern classic" whatever that means, it's not worth much and has a reputation for being expensive to fix. Now in my opinion at least two of those excuses are BS so has anyone else had this problem? Who are you insuring yours with? I know this is a little bit how long is a piece of string but the sticking point seems to be the car not the owner. I had originally intended to put it on the Saab 9-3 policy as I did when I briefly owned the 9000 but that's a non-starter. Footman James just won't touch the Lexus. Anyone?
  18. My first thought too. An acorn? Really?
  19. Probably worth admin changing the heading you see before that then https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/forum/116-lexus-cars-for-sale/
  20. Hi Paul, I think you need the paid membership to use the classifieds. See "Notice to sellers" https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/forum/116-lexus-cars-for-sale/
  21. You'd need to put a K&N in too for 50.
  22. 10 brake mod if ever I saw one
