  1. Out 15th June. Here's a taster...
  2. I'm told the feature will be in the August issue of Classic Cars magazine.
  3. In the new book Ah! Got you. Sorry, bit slow on the uptake there Steve.
  4. Well I've no idea who Bill is but I've got the car back off long term loan to my father. He's been driving around in it for the last three years but unfortunately he's having to give up driving and I've always said it was a keeper so I'm err... keeping it It's now on 71219 miles and feels as tight as the day I picked it up. Just treated it to new tyres all round and a four wheel alignment. It's lovely. In other news, it's also due to feature in an upcoming edition of Classic Cars magazine. More on that as I get it.
  5. I appear to be back in a Lexus. (Same car, different registration)
  6. I know where there's a good one not a million miles from you. Metallic green with the beige interior, 1999, auto, 90k miles and the sills have been done. Give me a shout if you want more info. The current owner is thinning his fleet but isn't on here. I think he wants £2k.
  7. Just chatting to Geoff about something else and it went for £8.5k
  8. The mileage is exactly as stated in the ad. Not entirely sure why you think otherwise.
  9. You can ease off the conspiracies Malc. It's my old car. I think Geoff (G&M Motor Company) is being a little ambitious with the price but if he gets it then fair play to him.
  10. The previous owner of my LS certainly did. In a previous life I smoked pretty much anything. If you fancy taking it up Piers then fill yer boots as they say. You will go green and then puke all over said boots but perseverance is the key. You're lucky that you've never smoked cigarettes because if you had your first reaction would be to inhale which you definitely don't want to do with a cigar. See previously mentioned puking plus coughing a lung up.
  11. I fitted a set to my 400h. Purely for looks. But found them noisy and removed them after only a week or two.
  12. I think I'll stick with the manuals!
  13. Fresh ticket (with no advisories) for another 12 months so went for an unnecessary drive early this morning. Haven't done that for ages! Told myself I was popping to the shops, left at 8am and went via Hathersage, Bamford, Ladybower, Snake Pass, Glossop, Woodhead Pass, M1 South and then back into Sheffield. Pulled up at Waitrose just as they were opening at 10am. You've got to put the effort in for quality soffritti Photo taken as I was just heading back over the Woodhead.
  14. The one listed by Haynes seems to be something from their "Autofix" range. Not entirely sure what that is but it's certainly not the regular repair manual they're known for. Regarding the online repair manuals, I've bought a couple of the last few years (Saab and Volvo) and find them much better than the old printed versions. The pictures are in colour for a start!
  15. By all means use a non-electric aerial, at full extension it'll work just fine. But if you want to make use of the motor the genuine Lexus replacement mast and belt are a better quality alternative to those on eBay etc. The Lexus motor, mast and belt work quite hard for what they are. Constantly up and down depending on which frequency is selected on the radio.
  16. Got to be the most satisfying Lexus fix there is. A bit of messiness dismantling the motor and removing the broken nylon toothed belt but reinstalling the new mast and belt is great. If the OP does decide to fix rather than replace then buy genuine Lexus. Replaced the broken electric aerial in the MR2 with a manual one from Halfords. About a tenner iirc.
  17. I'd say there's no real best way. Most important has to be knowing the engine layout, specifically where the air intake is. On my Subaru I'd also be mindful of the plugs (flat four). Other than that, slow and steady would be my approach but there aren't many cars I'd tackle those depths in.
  18. Does this happen in more than one location? Sometimes radio interference can stop the remotes working. If you haven't already try driving somewhere else and then test the remotes. Had this with my '02 IS and '06 RX.
  19. And don't forget that having a Hunter system alone doesn't guarantee it will be correct. Very much down to the knowledge and competence of the operator. A place local to me recently had an extremely impressive Hunter system installed but totally failed to set up my bone stock LS.
  20. Stuck in the house with Covid at the mo. I'm saving these for when I'm at my lowest ebb (That may be around 2pm today)
  21. Great cars! Thoroughly enjoyed mine
