  1. He certainly is. The SC430 is a lovely car.
  2. I did on my XC90. Fair enough they wear a bit quicker but the grip was always there and as I've never felt the urge to do a lap of the Nurburgring they suited just fine. Nokian WR3 SUV if I recall.
  3. Who's Michael?
  4. Hi Allen. Is it VSC and VSC Off? As in, two warnings. One showing a VSC is faulty and one showing VSC is off? Have you or anyone else connected a code reader?
  5. We didn't really go out today either Linus. Hate rainy Sundays.
  6. Dave always calls me Andy. Has done since we were kids.
  7. I'll admit I'm happier under ramps than axle stands. I can't see why you wouldn't be able to reverse on so long as you've got the clearance and someone watching. Driving the car onto ramps is always the most nerve wracking bit though! With my 9-5 Aero I had to use extenders because the car was low and that wasn't fun.
  8. Got to love fixing a rattle! On my GS I get what is more like a tapping from the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side. Might try some of this foam.
  9. This week I drove past a parked Citroen Picasso 2 days running on the way to work that had the o/s rear window half way down. Dread to think what the interior is like now but I'd imagine they'd have been grateful of the window open warning.
  10. Has to be said that the Argos back catalogue is the gift that keeps giving.
  11. The current forum favourite is Tony Banks for exhausts but a bit of a trip for you Michael as he's in Leeds. Top quality work though. The stainless system he put on my GS is virtually silent.
  12. Have to say there is a resemblance. The ones on my GS are colour coded but if they are easy to remove and the replacements are black that wouldn't bother me.
  13. Hi William. I know at one point a supercharger was an official Lexus upgrade for the first gen IS. In fact there was one on C&C recently. :edit: Still there https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1148535 but it's a manual.
  14. Lack of use surely has to be an issue as much as stratospheric mileage? Then again, these cars handle stratospheric mileages as well as any other period Lexus so I might just be talking out of my arse I'd still like to see the plate though.
  15. Looks about right Herbie https://lexus.7zap.com/en/eu/lexus+rx/524210/mhu38r-awxgkw/4/8201/824322a/
  16. Very nice
  17. Don't forget the pictures Alan
  18. Assume these are off the second gen GS and not the first gen referenced in the title? I might be interested if the price is right. Let me know.
  19. Ooo. Interesting. I wonder if my GS is a similar fitting. Mine are playing up.

    RX300 Wanted

Good stuff. Now share with the class Julian
  21. Very nice. A bit rich for me so good luck with that. And I wear my watch on my right wrist...
  22. It is a bit of a stretch with the petrol 3rd gen GSs isn't it? All the more reason to buy a 450h
  23. A real shame that you were disappointed in it. But good to see that you haven't lost all faith in the brand. £5k will get you a very nice car when you're ready and then you'll finally get to see what everyone else is banging on about! I've been on here about two and a half years and if I've taken one thing from the various reliability threads it's to avoid the oil burners.
  24. Agree with Martyn. The only thing I could see activating would be active head restraints like I had in the Saabs and Volvos. But I don't know if the RX has those. I believe that most five seat vehicles have "passive" safety at the rear ie a crumple zone designed to absorb the energy of a collision so there's less impact on the passenger compartment.
