  1. They look well. Anything too big or fancy just doesn't suit imo.
  2. Does anyone know if there's a way to prise the mirror cover/cap off without removing the glass? There is some movement but I don't want to break anything.
  3. Correctly fitted recommended plugs, an oil change, new oil filter, new air filter and a new pollen filter and your car is going to love you forever
  4. Thanks for getting in touch today Steve. I've spoken to Tom. Fingers crossed!
  5. Good to hear from you Ron, as always. I'll be honest, I am running out of things to do to it! As far as maintenance is concerned the only two items left are the the timing belt and diff oil. But both beyond me I think. I have booked the bumpers and mirror cap in for a bit of paint but I touched up the bumpers myself the other day and have to say it doesn't look half bad. Toyota Bordeaux Mica is the perfect match. Same paint code. These are troubling times Ron so stay safe and keep in touch. If I do run out of jobs I might be getting rid of an '02 GS300. Interested?
  6. Top motor klaxon. And just over 6.5k miles in it since September. Never misses a beat.
  7. Unfortunately my cunning plan is going a bit Pete Tong. The car itself has no MOT or tax due to the airbag fault. Currently a repair as suggested by @Britprius seems to be the only option.
  8. Sheffield are back open for parts and service.
  9. Hi John. Thanks for the reply. Not mine but the ECU is faulty and cost is rather crucial so I think third party fixes may not be an option. I'd very much like to speak to you Steve if that's at all possible? I'll PM you my number.
  10. Bit of a long shot but would anyone know where I might be able to source an airbag ECU for a '95 JZZ31 Soarer? Or a part number? It's the "small" ECU apparently.
  11. Every day is a school day. I assumed these MK3 GS300s carried over the 2JZ-GE but it's the 3GR-FSE isn't it? Welcome Joe!
  12. That does look nice and top dollar from Lexus themselves but if the warranty is the same as I got when I bought my IS300 then it's incredibly comprehensive and great piece of mind. I assume it includes the breakdown cover too. Service history will be top notch. I know many wouldn't on a car this age but I'd have no problem paying the dealership premium. As I often smugly point out to non-Lexus owning friends, you don't see many 10-15 year old cars on Mercedes and BMW forecourts with 12 months warranty on them.
  13. Service history and condition are everything I'd say. For £8k you'll get a really nice one. Great car with no issues of note.
  14. On the GS too. Used it last week and will be using it tomorrow. And on a much younger CT200h I was having a look at. As I mentioned elsewhere, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
  15. High proportion of old buggers with nothing to prove too Welcome Dave!
  16. Lexus Swindon are Lexus Parts Direct and I know they're open for at least parts because I spoke to them the other day. Anywhere near you? (Says Northerner gesturing in a rough southerly direction)
  17. Have you tried Bielawski's in Sheffield? http://www.bielawskissheffieldtrimming.co.uk/
  18. Typical. I came home in the Saab. If you don't get an answer in the meantime I'll measure up over the weekend.
  19. I'm going to do it at some point. I just know it. I often open just the boot, put something in or take something out and for a split second have that feeling before I realise my keys are in my hand or pocket. I'll obviously be hundreds of miles from the spare too.
  20. PCVs, transmission fluid and oil changes every 15 minutes. The American forum obsessions. PCVs are a big deal on the Volvo forums, general consensus being that you and the car will spontaneously combust if you don't do whatever it is you're supposed to do. Remember mentioning it to my specialist and he dismissed it.
  21. I think more pictures are required... And I'm sure I've seen that car in Sheffield. Possible?
