  1. Indeed. I've nothing bad to say about Lexus Sheffield. Who's your contact?
  2. I do like a GS
  3. Had exactly this problem with our old Volvo. Made my head spin trying to work it out!
  4. Cheers Robert. Luckily I "only" needed the stents and should be back to normal-ish soon. 51 and I just sorted out my 7 day pill organiser
  5. Another Sheffield institution. They have a very well deserved reputation.
  6. Cheers John. I do feel quite alright now but a little bit of exertion does take it out of me. I have to remind myself less than a week ago someone was poking around inside my heart!
  7. I put the roof box on ours but didn't really need to. Masses of room.
  8. Family holiday to Norfolk the other week and the Volvo performed extremely well. Seven up on occasions. Used a bit of oil but I can't grumble for a grand and some parts.
  9. Another little update. Away with the family for a week from 21/8 so I got the car over to Dave's a couple of days before with a view to just leaving it there for the 2 years overdue cam belt and probably never done diff oil. Returned on the 28th and started to plan how to get the car back after the Bank Holiday weekend. We'd been away in the Volvo and I have to say it did perform admirably but I was looking forward to getting the GS back. Then a little spanner in the works on Sunday 30th. I had a heart attack. The paramedics took me into the Northern General, angiogram and angioplasty carried out Monday, let home on Tuesday. Dave's colleague David very kindly brought the GS over to me yesterday and it's now sat outside but all I can do is look at it because I'm facing 4 weeks of no driving! So there you go. How's your week been?
  10. Can't really fault Sheffield, though like most their focus is on newer Lexus. Monty's are a Sheffield institution. They sold Toyotas for years before Lexus even existed.
  11. On the Lexus used car search I'm seeing lots of references to Lexus Select and I'm seeing cars tagged as Lexus Select Approved Pre-Owned. However, I'm also seeing some cars tagged Premium Used but can find no reference to that on the site. Is there a difference?
  12. Glad you finally got sorted Lee. I had a holiday and then a little *ahem* health issue last weekend so I've only just got my GS back but also had a bit of a problem with parts availability. Two and a half weeks but it's finally back outside the house.
  13. Agreed. I've a feeling an awful lot of these end up getting broken up or drifted to destruction rather than going for the ££££ that people imagine. That said, if you do decide what to ask let me know. I do like a GS I take it your son changed his mind?
  14. Thanks for the reply Nigel.
  15. Hi Nigel. I was admiring this car on the ACA site yesterday. Good luck with the sale. If the original head unit is in working order and is correct for an '02 IS300 I'd be interested in taking it off your hands. Drop me a line if that's the case.
  16. I have no real problem with drifting other than we've lost many old Lexus to it! On public roads definitely a no-no though.
  17. I'm not familiar with the LS430 but I'd suggest Amayama or Rock Auto.
  18. Have a look for cosmetic repairers. Plastics can be repaired or at least the damage hidden. You're a bit far from me but I've used someone before on my RX. I'd be looking at that before messing with eBay or scrappers.
  19. This. And not just having a go because it's a cheap shot at Kwik Fit but I think your local Lexus dealer would probably be of the same opinion. KF are hardly expert witnesses. If you have Lexus breakdown cover I'd guess a report from the AA next time the car won't start would carry much more weight. Had something similar when I called them out for the Saab (again!) last week. I think a friendly and even tempered chat with your dealer pointing out your car's Lexus history is the best you can do. Can't think you'll get it for nowt but you might be looked after. Even tempered is the key. I'm sure you wouldn't but jumping in feet first is never the approach to take.
  20. I'm never that prepared. Hence me knowing what PAS fluid tastes like
  21. Wouldn't be surprised if pumps are used at the dealers. Made use of more often than you think for in and out. Recently read the small print on the service paperwork for a couple of our Ford commercials and they use pumps to remove the old oil and leave the filters in place! I've done numerous fluid changes (oil, transmission, coolant, PAS) on the GS and V70 recently and I'd be a bit wary of the upended 1 litre container. If it starts to overflow the thread you're in for a world of mess!
  22. Lovely cars. Still pursuing a JZZ31.
