  1. Yes. Quite visible. MOT history is sub par too. Sorry Chris
  2. The little clips are fiddly but stick with it.
  3. Having used Tony Banks before I asked for a price for the 9-3 and it was very reasonable. I'm only an hour away from him but the logistics make the trip impossible for now. Previously you could just hang around in the McDonald's up the road but you can't even do that now.
  4. Very pricey for what it is imo. And you can see in the first picture the rot has already taken hold.
  5. That looks lovely. You can see the similarities with the period LS.
  6. Another vote for SGS here. Assuming they do them for the 430. Probably the first job I did on my 400. The sawn off broom handle wasn't very "Lexus" imo.
  7. Over here newer Nissans are pretty much re-badged Renaults.
  8. I believe some of the Meguiars products allow you to choose between sheeting or beading. IIRC the NXT stuff sheets, the Gold Class stuff beads. Another issue is the water in your area when you wash. Up here we have really soft water so beading is fine after a wash and there are never any deposits left behind. In a hard water area I can imagine that would be a problem and have read stories of white marks left behind almost immediately.
  9. The slow drift towards the kerb I found particularly err... worrying. Full disclosure, I do actually have winter tyres on but it was compacted slush that had then frozen. Nothing other than studded tyres would have helped in that situation. The thing is I realised I was on ice immediately, quite a few others not so much!
  10. If anyone's interested in how 2 tonnes of LS 400 is in snow, just ask But not until I've had a little lie down.
  11. We're down to if they care about customer service or not. Here's to a successful outcome
  12. Really? I thought the 2.4 was a four pot.
  13. It'll go for a chunk more than that Malcolm Or it would if anyone could travel! I've been keeping an eye on this one for a while as it's near identical to mine. Looks like 6N0 Moonstone Pearl.
  14. Yes, Merry Christmas to all on the best little forum I've ever had the pleasure to be on.
  15. I'm afraid I have to disagree with some of what you say Linas. When I first bought my GS it has a SS cat back on that did drone. Alright around town if a little un-Lexuslike but noisy and tiresome on any sort of run. The issue was the very small resonator in the middle and small silencers at the rear. I had the entire thing replaced at Tony Banks in Leeds in stainless steel and Lexus serenity was restored. I'd specified a system as close to stock as possible and that's exactly what I got. I'd argue the OP's fitters weren't really listening to what he wanted or capable of delivering. From what I could gather from Tony it's finding the right balance between performance and sound. Too quiet (larger resonator and silencers) = less power, so I'm not sure how they've made it louder and lose power.
  16. You could try a clay bar on the screen.
  17. First gen 9-3. Like mine. Or OG9-3 as some refer to it.
  18. Ah, didn't realise it was OEM. Carry on.
  19. Bonnet struts from SGS are well worth it too And fyi if you want to complete the OEM look there's also some moulding that goes here...
  20. Could still be the battery regardless of charging. I guess you're not in the AA, RAC, whatever?
  21. Or if it needs more than that there is a kit available from Lexus for 40ish quid. Or there is for the MK3 and I can't see them being hugely different. If you need an entire pump I got a decent one off the Bay for about £120. Non-genuine but seems to be OK. Lovely motor Sam. I did a proper double take for a second because I've got a mate with a gold LS and LEX plate. Regarding the wheels, they should refurb very well. £250 should get all 4 shot blasted and powder coated. Keep the originals, they ride so much better.
  22. Oh they do like to wobble. Especially the first gen 9-3. The second gen is much more rigid.
