  1. All very bizarre. I always use both the online ownership change doo daa and tax. All done and dusted instantly. For example, I bought the Honda last Sunday and we transferred the ownership online. V5 dropped through my letterbox Thursday. I held back on taxing with the green slip reference number until Thursday morning because I wanted a full month. And previous owner doesn't have to apply for the unused tax, it's issued automatically.
  2. Isn't the gearbox and how it performs exactly the same? I always assumed F-Sports were like BMW's M Sport compared to their standard SE. Cosmetic differences and firmer suspension.
  3. Noted. Thank you. The drive back was (luckily) uneventful! Making comparisons with Lexus, the engine at 130k miles feels extremely tight with virtually seamless shifts of the auto gearbox. Interior trim quality certainly isn't up there with Lexus. Maybe comparable with Toyota? I don't know. But like other Japanese brands not a squeak or a rattle anywhere. First job is to give it a damn good clean. The previous owner was the racing driver Mark Hales, clearly more interested in driving than cleaning which is no bad thing as the car is in excellent mechanical condition and was serviced recently and subject to a complete suspension refresh. I'll probably do a few gearbox drain and fills as it's a bit of a weak spot and I'll consider a timing belt change as there's no history of one being done. That's about it really. Apart from telling Freda who owns that red car outside the house...
  4. Had a rather satisfying day myself. New pads and discs on the front of the Saab plus and Abbott Racing sub-frame brace which will hopefully firm things up a bit. Took it for a quick run, I'm still alive and nothing fell off so hopefully I've done everything correctly.
  5. Hopefully the drive back to Sheffield after I've picked up my Accord will be uneventful!
  6. I've messaged you back. Here are a couple of pics for reference.
  7. Apparently the weak point on these are the auto gearboxes. There was some sort of class action in the US and Honda had their wrists slapped. After cleaning the first job will be two or three drain and fills of the transmission fluid.
  8. Previously the units I've purchased from them have come with everything you need for wireless streaming and calls. Obviously you need to make sure you get the correct included cable. I don't have any experience with your year of RX or the Mark Levinson system so probably best to check with them. You mention charging too but I never optioned that.
  9. Just shy of 130k. To be honest I've got my hands full with the Saab and I'm losing some storage but I just couldn't help it.
  10. Really? I guess I must have just spoken to Pete. He certainly seemed to know his stuff.
  11. Absolutely no point. The 400 is a vastly superior car
  12. I'd recommend the GROM units too. I've had a few and they're easy to fit. And their tech support/seller is based in the UK and very happy to chat over the phone if you're unsure about compatibility.
  13. The pictures flatter it a little A good 5 yarder I reckon.
  14. The devil makes work for idle hands and all that... Picking it up later this week. I know the Accords are popular on here. Any thoughts chaps?
  15. Hope you haven't been scared off Hugh. In a nutshell, fit or keep whichever tyre and wheel combination you're happy with so long as they're standard IS250 fitment. An IS250 is an IS250.
  16. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Ignore User button works extremely well.
  17. Sorry, no experience of the cordless stuff. I run a commercial cleaning company so my criteria is durability, cost and ease of repair. I probably own around 60 Numatic/Henry vacs because they're tough enough to cope with all sorts of abuse, can be easily fixed if the do break and can be picked up for around 100 quid. At home we have a Vax upright which is superior to the Dyson in every way.
  18. Dyson vacuum cleaner without a doubt. I'm "in the trade" as it were and already knew they were very iffy but for some reason was seduced by a substantial discount from John Lewis. Put up with it for a year or too and got rid.
  19. Hi Josef. Fitting a battery is pretty straight forward but if you're unsure have a look for a local battery specialist. Someone who only supplies batteries. They're usually happy to fit. Alternatively your nearest Euro Car Parts will no doubt offer the same service. Or you could just go to your nearest Lexus dealer. You'll know the battery is correct for the car, they're usually competitively priced but not sure how much they'd charge for fitting.
  20. I've always used contact cleaner. And I've always got some handy for the many electrical gremlins the Saab throws up.
  21. You beat me to it!
  22. Thought this may interest one or two of you. Interesting that Toyota/Lexus are involved. https://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/metpoliceuk/news/police-operation-to-stop-thefts-of-catalytic-converters-423914
  23. Sounds likely but the £160 seems very steep. I think the exchange value on the Lucas alternator I got from ECP for my LS was about £30.
