  1. That sounds more like it. Still a bit rich but at least they're genuine. I had no problem getting hold of them from Lexus Sheffield.
  2. Have you looked in the handbook. At the risk of sounding like someone else on here...
  3. Are you sure that £126 isn't for the entire assembly? I'm sure I paid considerably less than that for genuine Lexus when I got the GS and then the LS. Enormously satisfying when the motor takes the cable off you
  4. I'll double check when I get back in mine but I'm pretty sure the NF button is a version of RDS. I know that if it's on then I don't lose the station. And @steve2006 is correct. The frequency changers do work. I had one attached to the JDM head unit in my IS 300. And good to see you Rob. I'm over in Sheffield so I'll keep an eye out for your Celsior
  5. Yep. Definitely no code unless a previous owner has chosen to add one. It's an optional thing in the unit's menu.
  6. And I think I'm correct in saying that as an import it stays at around £280 regardless of year when an awful lot of similar fruity stuff jump to £550+ post March '06.
  7. I have a replica of a period tax disc that would have been displayed on my LS 400 when it was first registered in January 1997. It caught my eye again today and I was interested to know the % increase in VED for first registrations between then and now. Assuming a n/a V8 would be in the highest band. VED for first registration 1997 £145 VED for first registration 2021 £2245 An increase of 1448% Another assumption would be that a "new" LS 400 now would be priced at over £40k and subject to the additional £335 rate on top of the £155 from the second year on. So how about VED cost over the first 3 years ownership from 1997 (ignoring small increases year on year) and 2021? VED cost for 3 years 1997 on £435 VED cost for 3 years 2021 on £3225 An increase of 641% Not really going anywhere with this, just thought it was interesting. And eyeopening.
  8. Quite the rabbit hole to disappear down I buy chrome or metal cassettes off the bay and record onto them for use in my LS 400.
  9. Linas is more knowledgeable in this area but I believe "Sold as seen" from a trader is a big no-no. Where in Yorkshire are you?
  10. Sounds obvious and apologies if you've tried it but check the media volume level on your phone. Start it playing, up the volume on your phone and it should remember the setting.
  11. Yes. I can recommend Premier Products in Mansfield. I've used them for my MK2 GS, LS, 9-3 and probably others I've forgotten about.
  12. Not a flaw at all. The Volvo ones are fixed at the safest position. No adjustment forward, back, up or down is possible.
  13. Agree with John. Certainly not for comfort. It's to stop your neck snapping back in a shunt from the rear. But I am surprised it doesn't allow movement front to rear. The only cars I've ever come across designed like that are Volvos.
  14. See it round our way occasionally. Transit van with roof mounted cameras on each corner driving steadily up and down scanning the reg plates. They even clamped a neighbour's Prius the other day. £0 tax but untaxed if you know what I mean.
  15. I had to go through some quite badly flooded roads in the MKII GS to get to the NEC for the last classic show I went to. Coped very well but I knew the intake was high up. Same as the LS iirc. Wouldn't have done it in the RX though. My worry there would be the batteries. Do love a ford though. Used to seek them out with the kids in the XC90 http://www.wetroads.co.uk/index.htm I'm expecting a Subaru Outback in a couple of weeks so off to Tissington we go
  16. It's a lovely thing. Congratulations (just a hint of jealousy)
  17. Can you upload jpegs or something? I'd love to see it but those files don't open for me.
  18. Exactly. My Halfords couldn't even manage to work out the 15%.
  19. Sorry, I wasn't clear. Fairy certainly has it's place if you're wanting to remove whatever protection you already have eg starting again. And re: the SRP. I use it fairly frequently but there is a knack. I just didn't imagine two 11 year olds would have that knack!
  20. There were a couple of young lads on our road the other weekend offering to wash and wax cars for a bit of pocket money. I had the Honda at home and the paintwork is not the best anyway so I said for them to do mine when they had finished a neighbour's. Then I spotted the Autoglym SRP and said they could leave out the "wax" And then I asked what shampoo they were using. "Just Fairy." Actually, no thanks Fair play to them though.
  21. Have to say I have the same opinion of the Halfords around me. Looks like Phil has a good one.
  22. Great looking car. Congratulations If you start using it regularly keep an eye on the PAS pump and alternator. They were just about the only bits I had to replace when I got my 62k LS 400 late last year.
  23. Yes but is the glass a different shape or fitting between the 3 and the 4?
