  1. Friend of mine left his too late and in the end you could take out the boot carpet and see the road at either side. Cost him ££££ to put right.
  2. Great example of how useful internet forums are yesterday. Out in the rain and realised my auto wipers were a little reluctant to auto. Adjusting the frequency/sensitivity seemed to make no difference. So a quick Google and armed with results from here and on Club Lexus I got back into the car and applied a little finger pressure to the back of the sensor housing. Working auto wipers! If that fixes it then fair enough and if not it's some sort of readily available plastic/rubber/gel pad that goes bad particularly on Toyota and Lexus.
  3. So do I. Had enough of that on the Merc forum.
  4. Jonny Smith on The Late Brake Show (Youtube) swears by it. He had his imported Nissan Cedric (?) Tokyo taxi done. Not sure if it protects too though. Probably still have to use Lanoguard etc after it's done. Great job Another one saved. You probably know but the weak spot on these is the rear arches where they meet the mud flaps. If it gets bad it just eats through into the boot. Your guys will have no doubt cleaned out the crap and sprayed in the recess but while it's clean it doesn't hurt to pop the wheel off and give it another spray with a can of Waxoyl. Lovely smell too iirc...
  5. Volvo were so proud of the longevity of their cars (like Saab) but it's no business plan is it?
  6. Ah, the good old days 😆 My first two cars were Beetles with the "automatic" choke which was basically a stepped hinge containing a bi-metallic strip attached to the throttle cable and the side of the carburettor. Always cut off too early so you'd spend about the first mile using your right foot to operate the brake and accelerator at the same time as you slowed down. And no real heating to speak of. Don't know you're born you lot...😆
  7. Cowboys. Unfortunately the days of Volvo dealers putting customers first have long gone since the brand became more of a volume producer and dealerships were dished out to the usual suspects. Something had to change at Volvo to survive but as always, to the detriment of the customer.
  8. Agreed. And deciding to come at this the other way I've ordered 4x Pirelli Powergy from Hometyre to be fitted Tuesday. And correcting myself, I just found the exact same Accelera tyres that are currently fitted online for £47 a corner 😲
  9. You've probably already looked but I notice Blackcircles have 15% off some sizes of CrossClimates at the moment.
  10. Funny you should say that but I'm supposed to have a motorway run tomorrow with my 13yo and I'll be honest, I'm a little apprehensive. I've had a couple of high speed runs to check the wheels but it was dry both times and the car still felt a little like Bambi on ice. Not looking forward to it in this rain.
  11. Sometimes it's as simple as pulling them all the way out quite vigorously and letting them retract. Repeat a few times. If not there quite a few helpful videos on Youtube.
  12. Interesting points. It had crossed my mind about the tyres themselves but thought surely not. Cheap as they are. Maybe I should come at this the other way. Tyres first as I'd consider them a safety issue anyway and if the vibration is still there then the wheel. Can either of you remember the speed your issues occurred? Out of balance wheels in my experience make themselves known about 55/60mph-ish but this is definitely higher than that. Around 70mph+
  13. Does anyone have one of these kicking about? 18" 5 spoke LS430 wheel. Not really fussed about condition so long as it's straight. Thanks!
