A good friend of mine had similar problems with his 2018 Rx 450h after the plates were fitted. It started with the rear camera not working, which led to the camera ECU being replaced. Unfortunately more problems surfaced during the camera calibration process (all cameras) and the whole Advanced Driver Assistance System was deemed to be at fault, so more parts were ordered and replaced. It took about 3 months to get sorted as parts had to come from Japan. His car is fine now with no issues but at the time it severely dented his confidence in the car. Although the dealer couldn’t confirm what caused the issue it’s fairly reasonable to assume that something, whether it be a short circuit, bent pin or other power surge related incident occurred during the fitting of the plates... or it could have been one big coincidence 🤔

We’ve had CCs on our previous IS 300h and RC 300h and thought they were pretty good in most conditions, however the CC2s on the RX have been brilliant, plus they are extremely quiet. As we do a lot of trips from the UK to Southern Germany throughout the year, we need tyres with a Three Peak Mountain Snowflake Symbol (3PMSF) to comply with German Winter Tyre Regulations, hence the CC2s were seen as the best solution. We’ve covered just over 19,000 miles on the current set and I’ve just measured the tread depths after our recent trip to Bavaria and the fronts are reading just over 5mm and the rears at 6.5mm, which is pretty impressive on such a heavy car.

Thanks and all perfectly valid suggestions. I might reconsider and go down this route at the end of the month, however I had hoped a forum member might benefit rather than offering them to a wider audience.

Brand Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050 Size 235/55 R20 V (102) These were removed from my Nov 2020 RX 450h when switching to Michelin Cross Climates at 9,800 miles. Both tyres are in good condition with even wear all round, centre tread depth using a digital gauge is over 6 mm (see photos). Reason for letting them go is that I need the space in my garage. *Although I’m offering these for free to a forum member, I would appreciate a small donation (£10.00 or more) to a Service Charity of your choice (SSAFA, ABF Etc). Have to agree, the ‘fix’ just alerts you that the car has moved from a designated safe area (configured via phone app) and where it’s moved to. Following a conversation with Lexus CS they are aware that while the tracker is an insurance industry approved device it’s unlikely to have an immediate impact on insurance premiums as it can take months for their systems to update.

Just had a call this morning from my local Lexus dealer (Newcastle) confirming that they are just undergoing training on the fitting, setting up and testing the tracker and OBD device. Once complete and the parts are made available, they will be rolled out as a campaign at no cost to the customer. At the moment they envisage a 2-stage fit, tracker first followed by OBD device some 4 weeks later (but this could change if availability is brought forward).

This; plus if you have clothes on hangers (which, we often do) they tend to activate the internal sensor if there’s a bit of a swell.

We had a 2019 F Sport before moving to a 2020 Takumi. You can see the difference in bolster in the picture below (F Sport left; Takumi right). We found both to be extremely comfortable over very long distances, but to answer the question the F Sport does hug you more.

Do you have an option in your setup menu to customise the Home Screen? Unfortunately I don’t have any knowledge of the menu structure for the UX but you could try: Menu/Setup/General/Customise Home Screen Extract from RX Manual:

Just use number plate stickers, unless you plan on visiting Spain where you'll need to display the black and white UK sticker.

After contacting Lexus CR two weeks ago both plates were fitted today by Lexus Newcastle; there was no charge and they also included a complimentary health check and valet. This together with the Scorpion Series X Immobiliser I had fitted earlier in the year should reduce the worst case scenario down to some broken trim clips and the inconvenience of getting any damage fixed, which is much better than losing the car altogether and claiming on the insurance... yes I'm an optimist!

Hi John, I use one of these from Amazon [Link]; currently out of stock but I should imagine they will be back in before winter. The larger size (157×125cm) fits my RX perfectly and the mirror covers stop water from getting in behind the glass and freezing.

The OP has posted in other threads regarding an A/C system, but agree about the need to be careful.
