  1. So far since I purchased my RX400h, I have bought a luggage cover from Philadelphia, USA, a Navigation Screen from Lithuania and now have a reverse camera on its way from Chicago. At least the customs are making some money out of me.
  2. You are right in saying that the fuel comes from the same tanks at the terminal, however, different companies use less quantities of additive which is injected into the line as we fill the tanker. The supermarkets use less additive.
  3. Mine did! This is the one I bought. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-2009-LEXUS-RX330-RX350-AND-RX400H-RETRACTABLE-CARGO-COVER-SHADE/222560550332?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
  4. Yes, there are spring loaded bits at the door end. Looks like I was lucky then.
  5. Chanced it and it was the 48410 which is the right one for my car. Straightforward job.
  6. Screen arrived from Lithuania this week, swapped out as per a YouTube video in about 20 minutes. Easy job apart from losing the two upper bolts from the head unit. Look for them another day! Works spot on, it's from a 2008 model. Only thing is that the reverse guides don't move when I turn the wheel, will look at that later too. Next job will be to buy a new digitiser for the old unit and have a go at fitting it.

  7. Which rods? The one nes that fit into the rails? Mine worked fine, it was just the clips that fit onto the headrests that I had to adjust. Works better than I thought, didn't realise it retracted automatically when the boot is opened.
  8. Hi, Considering this for my 400h when I eventually get a working touchscreen! Where did you mount the grom unit? thanks.
  9. Looks like I am going to have to pull mine out to see what number is on it then.
  10. Hi, Does anyone know the specific part number for the nav screen on a 2007 400h? The digitiser has gone down the centre section of mine so need a replacement. Have seen a few on ebay from earlier RXs but understand the quality of the display changed in 2007, so are they compatible? The most common ones for sale seem to be 86110-48210, however have seen a newer one with 86110-48410, so dont want to waste £250 on something that wont work. thanks
  11. Finally got a luggage cover from the USA for my 400h. What seemed like a bargain at first ended up costing £209 delivered, including postage and £44 customs charges. Still, its the right colour and works fine. Had to adjust the clips to fit the headrests, but all working fine. Need to fit an interface for itunes music off the phone next, and it looks like the satnav digitiser is on its way out as the letters are out of alignment when trying to input a postcode. Is the 2007 model a different display screen as I may get a used one off ebay to try? They all seem to have the part number 86110-48210. Once I have a one to replace mine, I may try a digitiser repair or replacement on the other one.
  12. I got one off this chap. Spot on for the price.
  13. Had my 400h for 3 weeks now and well happy with it. Averaging 32 mpg according to the dash, but will check the accuracy as I go. Had a new auxiliary battery fitted as a matter of course as it was still working but a little weak. Bought a new key off ebay as the spare one was taped up. Bought an isoft TYT 2, just in case. I always like to have a decent diagnostic tool which is dedicated to the vehicle and this one seems good for the price. Gave the car a rub over with a clay bar, machine polished the odd scratch out, then polished and waxed it, being black it has come out really well for a ten year old car. The wheels are still ok, with a small amount of corrosion, and the spare is an alloy too although in bad condition. Going to need rear tyres soon, but holding out and then buy 4 new ones, probably Michelin which is my preferred tyre. Will eventually stick an iphone adapter into the head unit, and the nav screen needs a new digitiser as the centre area is no good for selecting destinations. Bought a new nav disc off ebay and that is in now too. Got it MOT'd last week and no advisories. Full Lexus history to date although that will now end. Interested to see the service history on my Lexus, new alloys at 2 year old and a new gearbox at 39K. It now has 84k on it. Timing belt, water pump and idler done 500 miles ago together with front discs and a calliper. Inverter check complete too. On the hunt for a rear load cover which is missing. I have replaced the rear wiper and arm which was cheap as chips and a few of the engine and battery cover clips. Its amazing what things people don't bother getting fixed when they are so cheap to do. One thing puzzling me on the vehicle customisation is this TACHOGRAPH WARNING S GBNGA-2J241 (2)

  14. Quite a few for sale in the USA. Pursuing that route now via a friend over there who fortunately works for a parcel company.
  15. Where do all the load covers go from these cars? Everyone I looked at, they were missing, including mine, so looking to buy one. Been looking on eBay and only seen one, wrong colour from an earlier RX which I believe are different.
  16. Hi, thanks for that. Yes definitely no light on and the needle wasn't right at the E mark. See how it goes now I have it, obviously won't let it get that far and might look at replacing the sender. I think the car had stood for a while as it had only done 1500 miles since the last test, so don't know if the sender may have got stuck? Anyway, bought a Lexus diagnostic scanner so should the worst happen, I can reset and restart it. Reverse camera works but isn't too clear, so don't know if I am looking at a new camera or that's normal.
  17. This one is a 2007, I didn't buy the 09.
  18. Yes, not got all the invoices, just last two years but the book is fully stamped, will check on my Lexus when the logbook comes back. And got the last inspection report. My friend owns a garage near me and has done some sort of hybrid course, he looks after my car and as this one is over 10 now, I will use him. Bonus having the belt etc done as the 09 plate one wasn't done.
  19. It's literally just been into Lexus. The last owner must have had warranty as it had a timing belt and idler fitted, but the invoice says water pump free of charge, warranty. It has not done 500 miles since this and 1000 miles since last Lexus service and MOT.
  20. After looking at two really bad examples I took the plunge and put a deposit on a 2009 Limited Edition in Manchester. I live in Newcastle and work away so hired a car this morning and drove down with a view to buy at £7995 which I thought was good value with a fully stamped Lexus history and 93,000 miles. Arrived at the garage and took it for a test drive with my wife. Drove well, but when we parked it to have a better look away from the garage, we noticed that it was a bit rough around the edges, with a few scratches and a couple of dings and interior trim scratched too. Also, lots of stone chips on the bottom of the bonnet under the grille. Went back to the garage and when I turned it off, got a warning on the dash, then the auxiliary battery went flat. The nav screen was also cracked and unresponsive. Anyway rejected it, but then spotted a black 2007SR parked in the corner. Asked for a look at that, took it for a drive and it went well. 84,000 miles with a service and cambelt change at 83,000 miles and full dealer history. Done the deal and got the garage hand to pick us up from the hire return depot and on the way back it broke down! Turned out to have ran out of petrol and flattened the traction battery. Stuck for 30 mins till someone came out and reset it and filled with petrol, with my wife crying in the back. The need,e wasn't showing empty, but in between quarter and empty, (anyone else seen this before?) Anyway, brimmed it and drove it home to Newcastle which was uneventful and to be honest, a fantastic drive. Hopefully no more problems in the near future. Only snag I can see is rusty rear shocks and need to fit a kit so I can play my iPhone music.
  21. Do you not have to buy the car from the main dealer to be able to buy a warranty? Just asking because I am buying a RX400h from a used car dealer which is 8 years old and has full Lexus history. Had a look at the ale us website and that's what it implies. Am going to keep the car serviced at the main dealers until it is 10.
