I have a NX f-sport which I love. However shortly after purchasing new I decided to ditch the Yokohamas for Michelin cross climates. Never looked back. What a difference. Full reboot costs around £500. I personally dont find the ride too hard but then again I came to Lexus from Audi so harder suspension is not a surprise to me. It is better with the michelin.
I changed the yokohama tyres on my NX after 5k to Michelin cross climate. Never looked back. Better ride and quieter. Even the salesman at Lexus could not believe the difference when I let him have a drive after fitting.
May be a long shot but I got a rattle/vibration noise on my nx. Turned out to be the rear number plate vibrating. Quicly fixed by the garage using double sided tape. Been perfect since.
I have just been to Bolton Lexus and they say they been told April 2020. If anyone gets it done can they post on here please along with costs. Thank You
Although I have 3d checked I have never had it activate. If it similar to Audi which I suspect the 3d only activated in major cities. E.g. Liverpool, Manchester etc.
I put Michelin cross climate on my NX after 5k on Yokohama which I hated. What a difference. Even Lexus sales were amazed at how quiet car was with them on. So they my recommendation. Lexus Bolton even priced matched cheapest quote I had.
I do not know if anyone found the following an issue: when it rains hard the warning triangle pings up and I get the message sensors deactivated please clean sensor. Gets a bit of a pain when you do clean them and they stop working again shortly afterwards. Always the front sensors that require cleaning. No fault on sensors just a bad design on the NX. Checked with Lexus and its a known issue. Never happened on my previous Audi’s.
I would go for the 2018. The upgrade was mostly cosmetic however the suspension was tweeked and it is a better drive than the previous. The switches are better as well and the upgraded model of the spec you thinking about will have additional and better equipment. The bigger sat nav on the upgraded model is better and should have 3 yrs free map upgrades because the upgraded model does come with that. Hope this helps.
Scraping ice from windows? Not done that for a while. Fill a plastic sandwich bag with warm water, close it and wipe it over the windows and ice gone. Before anyone asks , no it does not do any damage.
I have a mifi mobile wifi unit in the centre arm rest and use a three mobile 12gb pre loaded 4g sim and lasts for 12 mths. I have no issues with wifi and if using sat nalways have it switched on. I have found no issues with re routing but perhaps I been lucky and not in same situation as yourself.
Just done a 400 mile round trip in my NX to Scotland. The majority on motorway at 60-70mph (confirmed by gps not speedo) and returned 41 miles per gallon. Again confirmed by fill up rather than computer. Excellent quiet ride on michelin cross climate tyres. Love my NX.
For voice command press and release voice button on steering wheel. When you hear beep say dial and name for phone or say navigation and it reads an options list to choose from. For instance you can say “enter postcode” . On prompt say the postcode and it will ask you to confirm. Once confirmed it reads postcode back and asks do you wish to navigate to it. Used it today so does work.
I have put the Michelin cross climate on my NX. What a difference. I let the salesperson at Lexus have a drive after they were fitted. He could not believe the difference. He even asked the sales manager why Lexus did not fit them as standard.
