  1. Has anyone who has used the pay at pump feature know whether at any point during the transaction it asks you whether you have a Shell points card?

When you pull-up at the pump, you press the button that says 'pay at pump' as soon as you press that you then insert your shell point card, that card is only in for a second or two until it tells you to remove it and then insert a credit card, once thats in you then enter your pin code, once thats done you remove your credit card and fill up. When you've filled-up it should automatically issue you with a receipt (That's when the staff can be bothered to renew the roll of paper that is!)

  2. They told me that I could print off my receipt from another 'pump' ! I noticed that on the Pay At Pump facility that there is a button you can press that says ' Re-Print Receipt'. But how on earth does it know what receipt to print (cos you wouldn't want someone elses), the only thing I can think of is if it requires you to slot-in your Shell loyalty card again and then it would know from that.

Cos I fill-up a full tank every two to three days, I find the Pay at Pump really usefull. It's a lot quicker than queing-up behind the schoolkids buying their breakfast/lunch  (mars bars, crisps etc..), this way it's a lot quicker on and off the pump. B)

  3. Hi

Just a quick question to all those that use the SHELL Pay at Pump facility when refueling.

I use it quite a lot (when it's working!) but on a couple of occasions i've not been issued with a receipt (Garage not put in a new till roll) when i've gone into the shop they tell me I can print off a receipt from another pump within 24 hours of refueling. How is this done and how do you get YOUR receipt and not someone elses???

  4. MPG isn't that bad for a 3 Litre petrol lump!

I drove from London down to Yorkshire and back the other day and got 35mpg and that was at 70mph+

I get on average 30mpg and that includes all types of roads, and I don't poodle about neither.

Even after over 3 years of ownership and knocking up 60k miles on the clock, the power delivery still comes as a pleasant shock at times when you put your foot down, for example pulling away from a rounabout or at the lights, it's like a giant push in the back.

  5. My IS300 is due for a change next June, I've tried the IS250 but it just didn't give me the buzz I get with my IS300. Maybe if the IS350 came then I'd look again but at the moment it looks like I'm going to have a few test drives & see what happens.

I guess I'm realy suprised by the dealers attitude when I ask if the IS350 will ever come here, no demand for big engines they say  . Oh well, maybe everyone else that matters has got it wrong :P .

I know what you mean, It's just not enough to make me want to part with my cash.

The IS300 is just too good :hehe:

  6. Ive got a record of my MPG on every fill-up since owning the car (Have to cos im self employed) and I can honestly say that looking at the consumption it has actually IMPROVED with age.

When the car was new it was averaging in the mid 20's.

When it broke past the 25000 miles barrier the MPG improved and has been around the 28-32 ever since.

I would say this is a good average because all day it's driven on motorways, A-roads, B-roads, stuck on the north circular, stuck in school runs etc.. I use the air con a LOT and even have the engine running with the air con on when parked up having my lunch :P

  7. I have always been pleased with the service from Lexus & my local dealer over the last 5 years of owning many new cars, but I must admit since the beginning of this year I have noticed a few odd changes at my local dealership that has made me think that this is not their usual high level of standard (almost feel a sense of tightening their budgets) and some of the new cars coming through now (IS & GS) seem a tad unreliable. When you pay good money you want in return good reliability.

I am holding off replacing my car for the moment until I start to notice some improvements (I never thought I'd be saying this). :crybaby:

  8. I can certainly agree with your comments about Tony, my tyre wear wasn't as bad as some, but I knew there was something wrong with the cars set-up and Tony sorted it for me when others (namely Lexus) couldn't.

The car is a real pleasure to drive when set up professionaly, but a real pig when it isn't.
