  1. I had a detachable fitted by Lexus. It was fitted at the dockside as the UX arrived from Japan in 2022. The cost was £950. It can carry an E bike very well. I don’t think it’s an option now.
  2. There is a YouTube video on how to do this on my Lexus IS and it works, however when I got my UX I tried it but it definitely does not work, on enquiring at my Lexus Dealership I found out that it’s a dealer only option.
  3. This is the latest software update on a 2022 UX Dated June 2023 I took my UX to Lexus Bolton and was told on arrival the download of the new software would take about 2 hour, it actually took 2 hours 30 minutes. Not too bad as I was told downloads can be problematic depending on internet connection.
  4. A further problem with using a full size spare. To find the number of the TPMS valve you can use a re-learn tool unit ( that you just point at the valve and it gives you the number on a display )cost over £150 or remove the tyre and read the number on the valve. Lexus Bolton didn’t have a reader and had to remove / deflate the tyre to read the number. I thought you could program the UX yourself for a change of TPMS but according to the dealer this is not so. If anyone knows a way of programming a UX yourself without expensive equipment that would be great.
  5. I managed to scratch one of my alloy wheels, bad enough to be quoted £100 to repair from a Lexus dealer. Most likely completed by an outside contractor. I had been considering buying a matching 18”alloy as I was toying with the idea of non-run flat tyres when the present tyres need replacing. Luckily I found one on Ebay, bought it waited nervously for ir to arrive, half expecting it to be scratched or damaged but when it arrived it was near perfect, complete with tyre that matched my present tyres. I fitted the wheel and tyre and immediately the TPMS orange warning came on the display. Looked in the manual to re-set the TPMS but it did not work. It only works if you keep the TPMS valves as they are coded to the car. You can tell if it’s a mismatch valve as the warning light flashes and then stays on. On to YouTube to find out how to re- set the TPMS. Not possible if you change the wheel as it has a different TPMS valve. It turns out that the 4 valves all have a serial number and these have to be coded to the car by a Lexus dealer. I was going to take it to my local Lexus dealer to have it sorted but I got a letter from Lexus telling me my UX needed a software update, so I had the TPMS sorted at the same time So. carrying a full size spare for the UX can result in the TPMS light being on when you fit the spare and can only be put out by a Lexus dealer
  6. I couldn’t get comfortable riding the saddle supplied with the e bike so I swapped from my Bob Jackson tourer.
  7. Lexus offer all three blades.
  8. You are correct about the “piano keys” . They have not changed for the 2023 models. I should have checked…
  9. I also notice that the “piano keys” for the climate control have changed. Shame,, I quite liked those buttons.
  10. Your seats are described as leather.
  11. A new battery direct from Lexus Parts costs £57.56p, so not a huge cost. My previous Lexus IS 12v battery needed replacing after 8 years mainly due to lack of use during lockdown.
  12. I took delivery of a Premium Plus Pro in January this year, one of the reasons I ordered this spec. is because it included Heads up Display but reading through the 2023 spec. it seems that Heads up Display is only available on the Takumi models (unless I have missed it). The Premium Plus Pro also included a sunroof, something I don’t use very often. I think I would have preferred self closing wing mirrors instead. The Takumi models are priced at £45.000 putting them in the higher VED levels.
  13. Thanks Bill. I have owned the Orbea Ebike for a couple of years, it’s been very reliable, except for last Sunday when I snapped a rear wheel spoke. It’s now having the rear wheel re-spoked. I never realised you could see the old number plates. I collected them over the years, Rover 75’s, Jaguar EF, Lexus IS, and others. Next time I’ll take a picture at more of an angle. Take a closer look at the pictures on the right. I spent most of my working life in that trade. David
  14. I had a towbar fitted to my brand new UX (fitted before delivery to the dealership, most likely fitted at the dockside) I purchased a Peruzzo 2 bike rack from Ebay, cost £155. I am sure the Peruzzo rack will be able to 2 E bikes as they are very well made. As I will only use the rack to transport a single Ebike I cut the rack down for a single bike..
  15. Here is how to change the wipers or just the blades Love the YouTube videos by Victor G
