  1. A Jaguar XK 5.0 would be my choice
  2. I’m pretty sure a 440 would be on my list if I had the same buying criteria. I’d also have an XK 5.0 Coupe on the list.
  3. Excellent thread, thanks! Great photos too. Reminds me of our trip through France, Switzerland and into Italy as far down as Rome. Three up with four large suitcases, squashy bag and a suit carrier in the boot of a 2nd generation IS250 SE-L. Car never missed a beat in over 2k miles and maintained cabin temp in a traffic jam on the Rome circular motorway in 45 degree heat. Those ventilated seats we’re marvellous!
  4. Been a Queen fan since about 1974 and I still listen to them a lot. Also Genesis, Pink Floyd, Boston, Dire Straits, Beatles, ABBA, Robbie Williams, John Miles, Be-Bop Deluxe, Phil Collins, Adele, Mumford & Sons, Muse. Musicals too. i also have two long playlists - best of and easy listening which I’ll post up at some time.
  5. Couldn’t agree more 👍
  6. My local one 😀 I’m up late tonight watching the US election coverage given I’ve got the day off tomorrow 😀😀
  7. Personality
  8. My dealer contacted me to say they had some good deals. I asked them to quote me a good deal and I’d consider it. Never heard back from them.
  9. Hi and welcome. Mine’s an older one so I can’t help. I’m sure someone else will be along to help soon though 😀
  10. We will announce our nuptials within the next week or so. We get on so well 😀
  11. 😂 😂😂 Boy oh boy you can be so condescending at times. Do you ever read back what you write before hitting send? Do you ever stop to think how you would react if you were to receive a similar post? Do you talk this way face to face with people? You have a lot of good things to say Linas and clearly a lot of knowledge but you do jump down people’s throats a little. You remind me of that cartoon of a man sat at his desk very late at night saying to his partner that he couldn’t come to bed yet because someone was wrong on the internet and needed to be corrected. The nuts thing was a summary of your behaviour every time someone expressed surprise at your choice or suggested silly alternatives. It was also light hearted but you are so serious about everything you read and write on here. I still can’t understand why you’ve bought an RC200t either. 😉😀
  12. I know what you mean! 😂 I always thought a winter lockdown would be worse than a summer one and this first day has brought this home. I’ve been working from home since 13th March 🙁
  13. You talked about your car and why you chose it. We talked about other cars you might have had for the same money. You said we were nuts because we didn’t listen to you. We then mentioned about running costs if going a bit exotic with a choice. Then to have a warranty if doing so. All straightforward and how discussions evolve between car nuts like us I would think.
  14. Come on mate, don’t go hijacking Linas’s thread 😂
  15. Yeah I’m looking forward to seeing some of them the next time we can get out for a meet.
  16. Fair point although I have not been rude or abusive and I haven’t said anything that others wouldn’t think themselves. I’m having a bit of a laugh sure but that is all it is, nothing more.
  17. My NX is 5 years old and it’s still a great car to drive. Real quality and still quiet, comfortable and tight feeling. It’s only done 22k mikes mind. I’m not surprised that some want to keep hold of their NX after 3 years.
  18. I’ve bought that already John. I hate the engine, gearbox and economy but it met my criteria of 4 doors, brand and price.
  19. Off the top of my head you accused one poster of missing the point or ignoring you. I’m sure I could find more.
  20. Will do John. I’ve sensed a reduction in their levels of service in the last two years. Not helped by me buying a brand new IS from them in Jan 2019 that had poor wheel alignment on delivery. It wandered all over the road and an IS just doesn’t do this, they are normally so stable. It was resolved but it leaves a bad taste. The parking is getting to be a bit of a joke there too. They haven’t always been up front and honest about service pricing with me too. Apart from this, ok..... 😂
  21. When I ran a succession of Jaguar XF cars I always swapped to winter tyres every November and back again in March/April. I agree with everything you say, the difference in winter grip levels with winter tyres on is simply astounding. I haven’t ever done this with any of the Lexus cars I’ve owned but I am considering Michelin Cross Climates on all four corners all year round.
  22. Good service that. I haven’t received anything from Cheltenham yet.
