This is bad and there doesn’t seem to be an easy way of preventing this in some areas. Almost a case of it’s only a matter of time before it happens. Not if but when. I can’t see how scrap yards could be effectively policed. Bad news.
Agreed. Mind you winter tyres will feel pretty awful next week when temperatures get back up to 11 degrees.
Watching the cricket. I’m not normally up at this time! 😀
The wheel geometry changes at full lock. This sound is just the tyre crabbing slightly across the road surface on full or almost full lock when the weather is cold and the tyre rubber goes very hard. It’s happened in every car I’ve had in the past 10 years with very low profile tyres when I reverse or drive off my driveway. Worst culprits have been an Audi A5 and three IS vehicles with 18” wheels. An Executive on 17” wheels didn’t do it so much. Three Jaguar XF vehicles on 20” wheels all did it too but not quite as much. Nothing to worry about I would say.
All this for the odd few occasions when the steering wheel is super cold on very frosty morning? Doesn’t seem worth it to me. I thought we all had driving gloves like Alan Partridge anyway! 😉😂
Thanks. Poor turn in might make me look elsewhere when I change mine. I imagine that in the summer at higher temperatures this effect might be even more noticeable.
I know from running three Powerful rwd Jaguars on winter tyres that they always felt a bit squidgy and less sharp in higher winter temperatures at around 10 degrees. I might well therefore go for Goodyear Efficient Grip tyres. I know these to be very good in cold wet weather but still very good in the summer on an NX. I’ll be interested in hearing how you get on with your Cross Climates in May.
Blackcircles sell the Cross Climate SUV tyres for an NX too. If you select the tyre size yourself you may not get the SUV tyre offered. It does appear to be a tyre designed for SUVs based on the blurb.
Don’t forget that the NX doesn’t have the same powertrain as an IS. The NX has a transverse engine whereas the IS has an in-line engine. Both 2.5 litre but different engines.
I’ve had a look at their website. Quite refreshing to have photos and descriptions of any marks/damage/blemishes I must admit. Cheaper than main dealer prices too. Probably a little bit cheaper than used car forecourts too. I’d definitely consider next time.
Yep. Get a lawyer. Paying finance on a car you don’t have and can’t use is much more expensive than paying for a lawyer to draft a letter or two. It sounds to me like there is no agreement that it has been rejected not to mention what that means in terms of the deposit and monthly finance you have already paid.
I think I only ever averaged between 40 and 44 mpg over a tankful. For both IS300 cars that I’ve owned. Sure there were journeys where I averaged well over 50 in both cars in favourable conditions but never over a full tank and across multiple journeys.
You’ll have to give the media system time to read the structure of the usb stick. Perhaps it’s this. I would have thought it would play the first track in the first folder whilst doing this mind. I never had to reformat my usb stick, it just worked.
I’m going to check mine again now! I know it auto-locks if I don’t open a door after unlocking it. Pretty sure if I unlock it then open a door and shut it again but not lock it and then hide the key in the garage that it doesn’t auto-lock. This is what I do when I was it. I will check this. Might be me going mad 😂
