  1. Excuses excuses excuse mate 🤣🤣🤣
  2. Result! Can you ask her to have a word with mine please? 🤣 Look forward to seeing the photos of your new IS.
  3. 🤣🤣🤣 As is the norm. We will need photos please or it didn’t happen 😉😀
  4. Out of interest and in trying to understand why this type of theft occurs, how much does a criminal get when he/she sells the stolen cat on? Who buys these stolen cats? Also, how common is cat theft?
  5. Yes agreed. Wet weather performance is always high on my priority list too. These are the type of conditions when you really want your tyres to be the best they possibly can be.
  6. It’s not really how long a battery hasn’t been charged for. It’s whether the battery is holding its charge once it has been charged. If it doesn’t hold its charge it is faulty. Or you have a fault in the car that is causing a constant drain on the battery. You believe you have a faulty battery so it would be worth trying to get a replacement battery from any source. Got to be better than waiting a month or more for a replacement.
  7. An NX is very tyre sensitive. The OE tyres aren’t that great with a bit of bump thump and poor secondary ride comfort (the way it reacts to small ridges, expansion joints, etc). Try a few on different tyres to get a feel for whether this is something you’d feel. Love the LC 500 V8. Had two V8s in the past and there is no better thing than a V8 under the bonnet.
  8. Maybe try a breaker? As long as the donor car hasn’t taken a hit around the battery area.
  9. This is brilliant. Informative of course but genuinely amusing. 👍😀
  10. That’s interesting. CrossClimates would feel softer and more squidgy on the road in warmer temperatures due to the different softer rubber compound. Having them at 2.7 bar might well remove some of this feeling and make them feel like more like a normal tyre perhaps. What kind of wear rate do you see and do you see any higher wear around the centre of the tyre compared to the outer edges?
  11. The Sport is fine because it has the same suspension and same wheel size as the rest of the range. It is the F-Sport that has the firmer sports suspension. Not 100% sure post facelift, it may be possible to have sports suspension with a non F-Sport car. If you can get an F-Sport with adaptive variable suspension (AVS) this is fine because the Comfort setting is fine. Best to drive as many as you can and make your own choice.
  12. I think the pressure for over 160 km/hr is for those regularly doing over this speed. The higher pressures would provide increased structural integrity of the tyre at those higher speeds and as a result higher temperatures. How does your NX feel at lower speeds and in cooler temperatures at 2.7 bar? I know from adding pressure to my tyres when for example travelling on holiday with a fully loaded car that I always have to take the pressure out once the car is no longer fully loaded because the ride just feels too harsh and there is less grip from an over inflated tyre in lightly loaded conditions. That said, I’m sure I’d have higher pressures if regularly hitting those kinds of speeds.
  13. Look forward to hearing how you get on with them 👍
  14. 👍 Yeah agreed. My son bought a brand new Mini Cooper with JCW body kit with 17” wheels in 2018. The first time he needed new front tyres he went for the same OE tyres to keep them the same all round. The second time all four tyres needed replacement and he did a lot of research with a little help from me and he settled on Falken tyres all round. They’ve been a revelation. Almost as good as the OE tyres but at about 75% of the cost which was really important to him.
  15. My first NX had the convenience pack. Always thought I could go into the house and make a coffee whilst the rear hatch closed 🤣 It always felt way too slow for me. Coupled with a charging tray I never used but which restricted my access to the useful storage under the armrest, I specifically ignored any NX that had this feature when I bought this time around. The one thing I do particularly dislike about an NX300H is the almost complete lack of performance. Sure they are ok in isolation when driven normally. Long motorway runs or fast A road trips which maybe require a bit of overtaking of slow moving lorries etc, are less ok. I counter this by always driving in Sport mode on these roads but this only makes the car barely adequate. Luckily my driving is mainly short commutes and slower A road journeys due to 50 limits and congestion. If I was to ever go back to driving 25k miles a year with plenty of motorway and dual carriageway driving, I think she would have to go 😀
  16. I’d be impressed if people were regularly driving at speeds above 160 km/hr. Even on de-restricted autobahns I’m not sure I’d want to be doing more than this in an NX. Might take a while to get there too! 🤣
  17. Everyone is different and that’s fine but the one area I try not to compromise in is tyres. At the end of the day they are the one thing that keeps a car out of a ditch or prevents a collision by being able to stop in time when you really need them. An extra say £40 per corner for a premium tyre seems a small price to pay for a better performing tyre. I’d rather cut down on other things than make a compromise on tyres. Just my opinion and not fact, it’s just what I prefer to do based on owning some 40 cars and driving over a million miles and plenty of near misses and heart in the mouth moments averted by good tyres and at times caused by not so good tyres. I’m not trying to say there is a right or wrong here because clearly it’s an individual choice and rightly so.
  18. No. Just the saying “technically speaking” used to refer to the detail of something.
  19. Don’t forget the blue lights under the car and the suspension that goes up and down when stationary too! 😉🤣 Joking aside I’d be careful about what mods you make to a car purchased under a PCP. Technically speaking you don’t own the car on a PCP and mods like the ones you have mentioned could well decrease the value which would impact the guaranteed future value. Not an issue if you purchase it outright but could be an issue if you decide to hand it back at the end of the term.
  20. I wouldn’t recommend placing axle stands at the jacking points. Not unless the top of the axle stand is flat and fits nicely into the reinforced jacking point. Most axle stands have a v shaped receptacle at the top which could damage the jacking point.
  21. My experiences were almost exactly the same 👍 I turned lane keeping assist completely off. Too many false warnings on poorly surfaced B roads with intermittent road markings. I’ve been driving for over 40 years now and I know how to steer a car 😀
