I’m going to continue my experiment with V-Power. Definitely had a 2mpg increase over two fill ups which equates to about 5% which is about half the price difference. Factor in the cleaning additives and I think it might be worth it for me. After all I take care with what food I eat so why not similar with the car. I’ll do two more fill ups with V-Power and review then.

That’s a relief to know, thanks Phil! Brain intact then 🤣
-
Agreed. Probably similar to replacing the OE Yokohamas with Goodyear’s on my NX.
-
Great thanks 👍 I only ask because this means the loaner I had definitely had runflats. The ride seemed absolutely fine and I’d therefore be perfectly happy with a UX with runflats.
-
Which UX models come with runflats please? Is it all or is it wheel size dependent?
-
Luckily I’ve had decent service and support from all the dealerships I’ve dealt with. Certainly looks like you had a very poor experience. I’d happily go down the independent route if I could find a decent one close by. I’ve previously used a decent local BMW specialist close by when owning BMWs.

Insurance Due ( uk only )
paulrnx replied to Whites's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I’ve been flip-flopping between Churchill, Admiral and Direct Line for the last 7 years or so. I normally manage to get a decent renewal from one of these. I always prefer to stick with a known entity because I want the cover to be worth something when I really need it. I’m not keen on some of the windscreen replacement criteria with insurance now and this will inform my future insurance decisions. I want to be able to have a genuine Lexus screen fitted and from somewhere I trust and not a pattern part from Autoglass etc. A personal choice based on recent experience. -
I’ve posted elsewhere. I’ve recently read a report that e10 fuel will cause an approximate 1% reduction in engine performance. I doubt anyone would notice this. Europe has been using e10 fuel for quite a while.
-
I can’t disagree with this Linas. Lexus approved should stand for something in the marketplace and some dealers appear to be doing their best to de-value the brand. Agreed, definitely.

I understand that Bio-ethanol is 33% less efficient than pure fuel in terms of burning the fuel and creating power. I’ve just read a report that states that E10 fuel will reduce engine performance by about 1% when compared to E5 fuel. Based on this I’d expect a similar difference between e5 fuel and fuel with no bio-ethanol. I seem to recall plenty of reports when we moved to e5 fuel warning about reduced engine efficiency. Of course, no-one is going to notice a 1% drop in engine performance. Other European countries have been using e10 fuel for years so we’re only catching up with the rest of Europe. I reckoned that the ~1% difference was effectively a third of 5%. On a related note, I’ve just done two tankful a of Shell V-Power and seen much better economy. By 2mpg over both tankfulls. More testing required on my part but I may continue to use it. V-Power will continue to be e5.

Joking aside, I manage ok with the Lexus satnav. It’s never let me down. As I’ve mentioned above, I don’t need to use it on a day to day basis visiting places I’ve never previously visited. Suspect I might have to review my first statement if I did need to do this. A mate’s brand new 530e is sublime from a graphics, media and satnav perspective but then it is a generation newer than most Lexus systems. I thought the satnav on a recent loan UX was pretty good to be honest.
-
I have secondary satnav on my car. I open the map and tape it to the steering wheel. It’s a bit of a pain as the route goes over to another page mind! Even more so when the next page is 10 pages away in the map book 🤣🤣🤣

Selling hybrids due to cat-theft risk?
paulrnx replied to MadJam250's topic in Lexus General Discussions
I still have to convert back to gallons. 146.9p per litre is homing in on £7 a gallon which is just bloody awful really when you think about it ☹️ -

Yeah, pretty sure I’d be looking at all options if it ever happens to me. Agreed. -

I have no idea! I have shone a torch in through one ear and there is a beam of light coming out through the other ear. Is this normal I wonder?

Been there done that 🤣🤣🤣

I always use the Lexus nav. Keep a map in the car too. JLR nav isn’t that great either when comparing generations on a like for like basis. Mine has never let me down but then again I go to the same place of work and only that location every day. Well I did pre-Covid anyway. Nowadays I don’t need satnav to get from my bedroom to my home office via the kitchen 😀
-
The normal every day policing of our roads has just about completely disappeared over the last 20 years unfortunately. It happens outside my house in a quiet rural village road I would say 2-3 times a week and that’s when I’m around to hear it so probably happening more than that. It’s unburnt fuel being dumped into the exhaust where it detonates, I think.

Another consideration with passwords is making sure a loved one can access whatever they might need to in the event that one has an untimely end.

Love that photo! 🤣

I wish you all the very best with your results. I’ve had one myself. Surprised and yet pleased to hear that this is something that many have gone through. I went in head first but guess that was because it was my head that was being scanned. They said all was ok but they never actually told me whether I had a brain or not. I really should have checked.

Weekly checks you should do on your Lexus
paulrnx replied to TKhan430's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
Used to check mine once a week when I was doing loads of miles (500-1,000 per week), without fail. Nowadays it’s a once a month check or thereabouts. Which reminds me..... -
