  1. A cancelled order then and also a few owners thinking about selling theirs. This could easily snowball into a bigger problem for Lexus if they aren’t careful. The Police are woefully under resourced to do anything about this and they are in any case often too busy because they are performing their perceived social and community roles to prevent crime in the first place. And precious metals are in high demand. A perfect storm perhaps?
  2. Short of wiring the cat up to the mains every night I’m not sure there is much that can be done.
  3. Brother’s
  4. Any chance of an informal meet then with like minded Lexus owners? Plenty of chance to socially distance in the museum.
  5. That’s quite a difference! Early days I suppose but not great if it continues. Fuel prices increasing and can’t go as far in e10 for each litre / gallon. A double whammy!
  6. This thread reminds me of something that always holds true. A £55k car when new that is purchased for say £12k many years down the line still has the running costs of a £55k car in terms of repairs and consumables etc. It’s easy to think well I’ve bought a luxury car for the price of a nearly new Fiesta but the running costs are never ever the same.
  7. I’ve never signed any courtesy car agreement over the last 4-5 years I’d say. They just don’t do them any more although there does now seem to be a charge of about £12. They used to have signed agreements but from memory these were mainly aimed at the insurance clauses and damage and speeding fines etc. Unless you sign an agreement stipulating a mileage limit or you have a mileage limit specifically and verbally confirmed to you at the point you are handed the keys then there cannot be a mileage limit. There just can’t be. 220 miles for what is effectively 3 days sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
  8. Lovely to take a nice relaxing stroll down Meander Street
  9. royoftherovers and LenT will shortly be announcing their engagement 😉🤣🤣🤣
  10. In these days of smart phones just set yourself a calendar entry for 10 months time to cancel said DD. Or however many months you decide. I thought £10 was a saving worth making for the sake of an annual DD. DDs can be managed via banking apps anyway.
  11. HJ walked the walk and talked the talk as far as I was concerned. Not now of course.
  12. About 12 years ago I was told that mobile phone companies were making substantial provision for future claims regarding the impact of long term mobile phone use. I don’t know how true this was or is now but it came from a reliable source within the industry. Could have well have been but equally could be the truth.
  13. Wish you all the best
  14. A great story and a great attitude 👍
  15. Your usual blunt communication 👍🤣
  16. DAB is a bit hit and miss where I live which is on the Worcs/Gloucs/Warks border.
  17. If I could offer another perspective here. If I still had 12 months to go on my Extended Warranty, I’d keep it going. I’d have already paid for the better warranty so it would make sense to keep it going. I’d only get a myself a refund if I needed the cash.
  18. It’s more the impact of long term exposure to constant use. Phones are constantly radiating with all manner of apps constantly connecting to the internet via the mobile signal when no WiFi is available. Not to mention the phone constantly radiating to its local cell for phone purposes. No authority states continual use of a mobile phone is safe. Once the data for the effects of long term use and exposure to mobile phones is available the scientific evidence will change.
  19. I’m not going to worry too much about extended warranty v Relax v no warranty. I had been contemplating the paradox that I drive a Lexus because they are so reliable but I still planned to renew my extended warranty just in case. I’m happy with a free warranty and £125 for breakdown cover (inc the cover for my wife). Time will tell whether that remains the case. The real test will be if I have to pay for a repair that would have been covered by the extended warranty. And I’ll worry about that if/when it occurs and not before.
  20. Widespread BEV ownership may lead to higher prices for electricity. Fuel duty on petrol and diesel just morphs into a fuel duty on electricity perhaps. There won’t be an inexpensive and therefore sustainable way of accurately determining how each unit of electricity is being used so there could just be a tax on each unit of electricity passed onto all consumers.
