  1. Have a read through this recent thread as my original ( 10 year old Panosonic) was fine one week and then after a cold snap Click,Click,Click...the Bosch S4 that I got in the end was a tight fit inside the plastic shroud but it does fit. Don't forget you will have to reset electric Windows after battery dis-connect. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/107731-best-12v-battery-for-is250/ Paul m.
  2. If you lived on jersey with an ISF and a national speed limit of 40 mph then I'm pretty sure it would not take long to find out where you could let's say do more than 40!!! Or that might be why he/she sold it!!! paul m
  3. Cat C, Cat D......I think there might have been some changes recently as I heard someone talking about a Cat N the other day, not had time to do any research on it yet. paul m.
  4. Ditto, mine takes ages compared to my mondeo but that has a lot less cylinders and coolant! Try and take note how long it actually does take to get upto normal operating temp now ( -2'C outside) and wait until the Summer when/if the ambient temp is 28' and compare the two. paul m.
  5. Doohhhhh!!! I was responding to the post above and mis-read ' Quantity' for 'Quality' !!!!!! sorry, I'll get me coat and be gone soon... But the Amount of fuel in the tank is gonna be electro-mechanically detected ie a float on a pivoted arm or rising guide bar is gonna adjust a potentiometer to report back to the gauge electrically. paul m.
  6. I would imagine that it is done electronically via a 'Knock' sensor. Paul m.
  7. Note, some have said that an air leak will upset the o2 sensors when in fact the sensors are fine, so if you have disturbed the engine recently ie fitting spark plugs and removed the inlet system then check for air leaks throwing this code! paul m.
  8. Have a read through this thread and check out Normski2 pictures, paul m.
  9. 'Buy it now' is £14.23 but it also has a 'Make Offer' option, did you try 'haggling' first? ( " What D'you mean he won't haggle.....MP classic sketch!) paul m
  10. To be honest I have never used any of those services Hpi etc. But I guess I've been lucky with my purchases so ask yourself " do you feel lucky?" paul m.
  11. Wiper motor circuits ( front anyway ) are normally 'fused' with a miniature self resetting circuit breaker type fuse. Not sure if they are on your particular model but this is so if the wipers are in fact frozen to the windscreen then the motor will draw a large amount of current trying to shift them and if it was a normal fuse the fuse would blow and then after the ice had thawed the wipers would not work! But with the circuit breaker the high current flow trips the breaker and after a few minutes it cool and resets. Pic here in post #24 http://www.talkford.com/community/topic/318786-electrical-help-needed/page-3 paul m.
  12. I would'nt expect anyone to think about moving on the price over the phone say! After you have been there, stood in front of it, drove it and shown that you are a contender then things might be a bit different. paul m.
  13. That 250 K50 SLB is showing an outstanding recall notice. This could be the passenger airbag recall but it could also be the fuel seal recall as well because the service history shows that Lexus dealer was used for the early years only and if the recall was after these then it may not have been done. The reason I mention this is because if the fuel seal does need doing then that job exposes all the spark plugs and if you were to have them fitted at the same time the cost is going to be minimal. paul m.
  14. Soooo that might account for the fact that when I was shopping for my car I always checked the MOT history on the .GOV website and a very large proportion of 250's had previous failure points for " wipers failing to clear screen effectively " so if they had been fitted with aftermarket wipers in the past then this could go a long way to explaining it. ps. I did buy a set of Denso wipers for mine last time this offer came up, still in the boxes in the garage! paul m.
  15. Welcome fella and hope you enjoy your 'new' motor as much as I do, I too was a long time admirer of the brand and recently circumstances allowed me to indulge so I found ( after doing lots of homework and travelling) a super 250 with all the toys and the only real available two optional extras. Well pleased. You may find out ( if you read enough post's on this forum) how lucky you were to end up getting the petrol mark over the DERV in time to come. I'm not saying the diesel is a bad car but the amount of problems that seem to occur from owners is quite high compared to the petrol version and we all know how expensive Lexus hours/parts are so the world renown trait of diesel reliability is not 100% embedded in the IS d's, shame to say but it just isn't. paul m.
  16. Yes, may be some shenanigans going on with that lamp as it should be an ON or OFF situation, hopefully not but if light is ON a previous owner may have tried to obscure its presents for some reason! like I said hopefully not but a strange one for sure! As above try to get any codes read. paul m.
  17. These cars do tend to emit smoke or 'steam' even after prolonged use unlike most other cars and it was discussed here concerning an MOT testers interpretation of what it is!
  18. That was the latest details I could fine but should still work hopefully. Paul m.

  20. The factory spec of the car will be on the Drivers 'B' post just under the door lock striking plate,
  21. I don't think that car is a SE-L. Only The SE-L had Yamaha's high gloss wood ( and it is real wood) panels in the doors and centre consol and the rear electric operated sun blind. paul m.
  22. I saw that 10k one....pushing their luck there, but that's dealers for you, keep it bookmarked it may come down! paul m.
  23. Work done by Lexus should ( I say should because some have said their info is missing!) be available to view via the MyLexus portal on the Lexus website for your particular car. paul m.
  24. Hi, did you manage to install Techstream and connect it to your 250 and get an outcome for your O2 sensor dilemma? Paul m.
