  1. I know it is in the IS section but have you read this, It might help some as Hopefully the LS ain't a million miles ( electrically anyway) away from the IS. paul m.
  2. IT is always recommended to have wheel alinement done when fitting new tyres ( especially if you go for all 4) whoever fits the new tyres should balance each and every wheel before fitting to the car before the alinement is carried out. If this does not solve your shuddering problem ( I suspect it will) then you need to look at other items in the drive train that are revolving and causing this resonating at a certain speed ie driveshafts, propshaft or possibly discs/hubs (unlikely) paul m.
  3. For a start do a complete visual check on the condition of the tyres checking for any damage, bulging or deformation, and then next step would be getting the wheel balancing checked as one or more might have lost their balance weights. paul m.
  4. Firstly nice ride, very jealous over here! Hopefully do the same and 'upgrade' from my SE-L to an ISF in the future sometime. So is your ISF sat nav got a DVD based system or the SD card system. Not sure when changeover year was on your car was but it was about 09-10. If you have the Gen 5 unit You can check by the screen info. You prob know this already from your 250 but 'MENU' then 'MAP DVD' shows the screen below, but do not press 'Eject' unless clock fascia bezel has been removed. like you say car is quite 'rare' and not listed in the compatibility list here. But if you have the Gen 5 unit then I would say the DVD is compatable. https://satnavstore.com/lexus-tns-600-700-navigation-map-dvd-sat-nav-disc-update?search=Lexus
  5. If you had a rear facing cam installed then my guess would be that whoever done it has put a hairline scratch somewhere through the section of element that no longer works. paul m.
  6. I gotta add that unless this stuff has come on a long way then I too have not had any success with it, Admittely it was not for radio reception reasons but just to get sections of demister working. This was on MK2 Fiesta and Cavalier SRi which never used sections as radio antennas. Paul m.
  7. If you check the owners manual there might be an acceptable oil consumption stated, prob something like 1 Litre per 1,000 miles. Just checked the IS250 Manual and it states advice should be sought if oil consumption exceeds 1 Litre every 600 miles !!!!! paul m.
  8. Gotta say when I read the 'cause' of this thread's posting I was a bit horrified....wheel nuts loose!!!!! Sorry but that is quite basic. please don't let your confidence exceed your competence when working on your car cause you could be driving somewhere near me! paul m.
  9. Any chance you can drive the same location again? paul m.
  10. So..there is no way of knowing it is working or 'on' as such until you get close to an obstruction? can't understand why there would Not be a visual indicator of some sort even if it was just when beeping. Paul m.
  11. Bit disappointing and annoying I reckon. Also because of the massive amount of wiring looms, ECU's and sensors in the IS ( even on the base level trim models) it would be very difficult to retro fit any feature like this without causing possible huge problems with the original systems. paul m.
  12. So in that menu list it does say ( If Equipped) after Parking Assist and some others but not after the Speed & Tachometer Indicator feature, So I guess All cars have the Speed & Tachometer feature and the other features are options, therefore could it be possible that your car has been fitted with a replacement rear bumper at some point that has sensors in it from a car that had this feature and your car does not? Paul m.
  13. On your 'Satellite' switch ( as Lexus call it) is the parking assist ON? Paul m.
  14. Yes, hilarious isn’t it? And like Grom are so on the button with all things to do with dates!!!! They consistently fail to deliver upgrades on dates that they set themselves and thentotally miss out on OS editions so that current ones are now so out of date cannot be updated OTA! And Knock me back for being 3 days adrift on Their upgrade eligibility date, mazin, Spend you money wisely guys. paul m
  15. Talk about Harsh, £510 spent on a unit with an OS from 2014 and an 'update to 7.1 was supposed to happen last year! Just recieved this from GROM ""Your item was delivered on 29-01-2019. Your tracking number states the VLine was delivered at the end of January. The forum states that we will provide the update for any orders placed after February 1, 2019." Spend your money wisely Guys, paul m.
  16. Just got a reply from GROM about the 8.1 OS and they want $15 for the upgrade which I think is a bit rich when I just paid over £500 ( $650) with a unit running 5.1. This ( 8.1 OS System ) comes on a Micro SD card as it is not able to be installed OTA as 5.1 can't handle that! https://gromaudio.com/store/accessories/firmware-f-a81sdc.html
  17. Never done 7.1 you say, but this is their site today. So as I have done OTA updates recently and previous posted pic shows soft/firmware is upto date will it be 7.1 now, and awaiting 8.1 hopefully sometime soon.
  18. "The new manufactured units come with Android 8.1 although they encountered issues when updating existing units, they say they are still on course for a release this month" so am I right in thinking I prob got 7.1 ( although I thought I saw 5.1 somewhere in the settings !) running now then? And if 8.1 comes along ( this month...it's the 28 Feb today!!) is that gonna be more stable/faster or what other advantages? paul m. All noted on the GS and IS differences.
  19. Fair enough if that is the norm and yes just pressing the 'Audio' button gets it back up, but I was asking around because of post #3 in my thread here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-2nd-gen-2006-2013/912734-vline-vl2-and-reverse.html paul m.
  20. I have opened a technical ticket with GROM US yesterday and today they wanted to know what Soft/Firmware I was running with, basic first step in fault finding To make sure device has got latest updates. But...
  21. Like I said, I can't recall if it done this before install. So question? Does your 250 revert to the Navi Map Screen after the view from the rear cam is no longer in use? TIA Paul m.
  22. I can't answer your question on CarPlay ( yet). There is some talk of licensing or certification issues via Apple for the use of car play but don't quote me on that. I am currently trawling through this thread ( over 3 years & 1600 posts!) to bone up on all things GROM. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-f-2008-2014/834943-anyone-getting-the-grom-vline.html post #139 mentions that the screen reverting to Lexus Navi Map after using reverse might actually be a Lexus default and not via the VL2 ( I can't personally remember what happened before I fitted the VL2 with regard to this but now using it is a bit of a niggle) Still reading........ paul m.
  23. Not really had chance to use this kit as much as I would have liked in the last weeks, but One thing I have noticed is that when using say Spotify to play Audio tracks and performing a reversing manoeuvre the rear cam kicks in and hijacks ( like it should) the screen but then after coming Out of Reverse gear the screen reverts to the OEM Lexus Map display! Does this happen with yours and is there a 'fix'? I have to press the Lexus 'Audio' button to revert back to the previous display. Also no joy with a Netflix App yet, even with the latest software & firmware but YouTube & iPlayer is fine so video stream/connection is man enough. paul m.
  24. Wow Disc A, the whole of Europe on one disc! That'll be 2006-7 then!! Now it's Europe North, Central, East & West per Disc! paul m.
  25. Is the sat nav DVD you are using the original 2007 version? So if was me I would get the latest sat nav DVD (£30 here https://satnavstore.com/ALLCARS/Lexus/lexus-tns-600-700-navigation-map-dvd-sat-nav-disc-update ) and try that, although I have actually got the VLine GROM unit that can run google maps, waze etc I do like to have the latest DVD available in the OEM unit. paul m.
